CoX is the only title I curently pay for. Any well made title that allows you to log in and play for an hour and actually see progress is golden.

I also am enjoying Grenado Espada as well. I do like fast paced action and this one fits the bill. Sadly though, other than Aion & Spellborne nothing grabs me. Perhaps AOC will surprise though.

LOL, now this is the current question of the ages, and you'll see numerous threads debating this very point.  The real consideration for you probably is, which one releases first?  AOC is scheduled for release around Oct 31st of 2007,  WAR not until April 2008, (and both dates could still slip).

I'd recommend trying AOC when it comes out..and play it until WAR comes out later.....

Whoa, since when was WAR in April 2008?  I thought they just moved it to Q1. Whoops, my bad, just double checked, all sources I found listed it as Q1.  I'm a natural pessimist when it comes to software delays so I probably chose a date that I was more inclined to believe. (that way I'm pleasantly surprised when they come in early)

I'm in the same boat as many of you, except i refuse to go to any "Orc & Elf" game. I'm getting so sick of seeing them I dream in elvish tounge.

In all honesty to those looking around for games... In my personal experience I'm tired of pre-ordering shitty ass games that you spit on a month later because its been so OVER HYPED that you believe it will be the savior. TBH i think a lot of you are looking at AoC and WAR that way but its your dollars. I just hope you all get into beta to see if its something you enjoy or not.

In my experience games with a somewhat original idea have usually been the best (as long as they arent the "pouned out in a month eastern games). CoX has been one of the best games I've played so far. Sure it gets borring and it is a hella grind but the community is awesome and the concept is a new and original idea.

SWG was a wonderful game before the NGE (new gaming experience). A lot of people will tell you it was shit once it hit the CU (combat upgrage), but even with the CU it was still more playable and more fun then any other game on the market.

EVE is an original concept as well (same with EnB god rest its soul), but my major concern with EVE is the fact that the devs play as well and screw over other people by abusing there powers (visit EVE forums if you dont know what i'm talking about)

So overall every game has its problems and short comings and these are just a few examples. I could go on for ever about games and their issues, because my list of MMO's is a long one.)

You just need to find a game that you enjoy so much you overlook its shortcomings and a developer that actually cares about its player base.

Also for the argument about taking a break and then coming back, yeah its a good method but what it comes down to is that you'll be tired of the game in a month the first time, a week the second time, and will say "ohhh f*ck it" to even coming back the third time. When you're tired of a game and you think that you've been ripped off with something in it *cough* BC *cough*, then theres no use to try and make yourself like it again.

    Excellent post Sunrider.

I am playing my first character in City of Heroes as we speak, and I must say, it IS a nice change from the "Orcs and Elves"

I am in the same boat as  you are I quite playing  WOW Months ago and have tried  and am still trying everything I can for free.  I think the answer to your question IMHO is no, nothing is as fun as WOW.  I have quite a few other times only to come back to it in a year or 6 months. I can't wait for the next crop of games like most of the people that replied to your post.  I wish I could get a Beta invite to one of them.....

Everquest 2. It has tons of content to keep you busy for a long time, and keeps getting updated with free content and zones between expansions. SoE keeps releasing alot of free liveupdate content like raid zones, new player races and starting cities. EQ2 really does have the most content updates per month then any other MMO I know.

I played WoW all the way to 70 and done everything it had to offer.  It is a very over rated game IMO.  Its way to pve based for me and nothing more than a gear grind no matter if your doing pve or pvp its all for "epixs".  I have played CoH/CoV pretty carebear for me just not my style and the list goes on and on...

I like the pvp side of games I really have no desire to RP or pve all day.  If you want a pvp game play lineage 2.  Best graphics of any game on the market and its been out for years.  Still the best pvp of any game on the market as well.  Everything else on the market that I have seen is the same crappy pve based games that my 12 year old brother could master in a month .

hi well i think bc very much spoilt wow for all the casual gamers and was more designed for those who want to be the best (arena's) and as for the pve i found to do high level raids you had to gear up so much to be capable of getting anywhere i think it just gets borin. i think every game gets borin in the end so to keep enjoying yourself i would say play a game for a while and when it loses its excitement go play another. the question is which one?

I don't think WOW is great at anything but its good at everything at least for me it was.  But like all things you need changet at some point.  I think I'm really just tired of the click and watch the animation.

Like most people who quit WoW in a huff, you'll probably search around for a "better" MMORPG for a month or so, and will come to realize just how much you really liked the features of WoW  versus the other games you tried.  You'll feel silly about it for a bit, but then you'll go back to WoW and start enjoying yourself again.

A little time away can be very beneficial.  I often took breaks from MMO's, and when I started playing them again, I felt refreshed and had a new perspective.

Note:  I'm not trying to hype any MMORPG.  You could substitute your favorite MMORPG for WoW in this post, and the sentiment would probably hold true.

Although WoW isnt the game for me L2 has been like that.  WoW bored the hell out of me tbh.  Any game where you die to just get mp back and no risk to pvp at all sucks IMHO (gear grind aside).  I just think WoW just sucked so many people in and players that havent gotten a chance to check out other games.  I think there are a number of better games out there right now they just dont get the hype WoW gets.  On another note Im kinda glad because I really dont want some of those players because they tend to be so bad.  One thing can be learned from WoW and thats huge player base doesnt always mean a good thing.

I totaly disagree, that u should take a month break from WoW, and then it's fun again. I have 2 level 70 characters (Priest and Hunter), and basically what i was doing was: doing 10 arena games on each character each weak. make sure u have 1700 rating, and pewpew u have gladiator items in no time. And if u have a spare night, u go karazhan or either gruul's lair. TBH I'm finding 10-man raids quite booring. The old-school 40 man raids where everyone was whining about slackers ect, and some noice on ventrilo, that was awesome:)

Pre-TBC, WoW was the best MMO on the market. Decent PvP system (got rank 12), nice 40 man raids. And some world PvP involved, since loads of people allways were in WPL/EPL.

So an easy conclusion is that TBC kinda fucked up WoW. Dont make us laugh about the Huge erea's in the outland, wich aint detailled at all.

You won't find a game that compares to WOW until the fall.

You can give LOTRO a try but theres not much to it.

If you were a "serious" WOW player then EQ2 probably won't do it for you.

Your best bet is to reroll in WOW and start from scratch, play a race you haven't tried before and just wait it out.

If you're PvP inclined, might I suggest DAoC.  Graphics aren't cutting edge, but the leveling grind isn't bad at all, especially with double experience in BGs for lower level players.  I like where Mythic has taken it, and that's a focus on PvP, with level grind and equipment grind as short and sweet as possible.  Play on a classic server, and you'll find (nearly) the DAoC many loved and played way back when.  They've placed many things into the games as catalysts for leveling, with the BGs PvP being a great break in between.  Travel times have been shortened by teleporters, Catacombs is now a free download, and on the Classic servers, endgame PvP is still very active, with keeps changing hands almost constantly.

If you're like many of us, I would prefer you to play F2P mmo's for the time being, thats unless of course u want to spend some money to buy other games...

I like playing Rakion great PvP game its free, but you can use real money to buy better stuff its only entirely up to you...I also play Lineage 2 PvP server (Its free you jsut use a different client which i cant discuss here or else i'll probably get banned)...

Basically I play PvP based games, there are tons of games out there you can choose to play...but if you're too much into the WoW gameplay and style then you're going to have to adapt and adjust to how other games are played...Just dont use WoW as your standard style of play try to get used to other games so you can grow into it like how you did with WoW...
