Well there was another poll which indicated chaos/orc are going to be EXTREMELY overpopulated, guess im stuck going to order cause I dont really like being on the overpopulated sides. So i guess i might play one of the order healers/support classes.
I am going to be a whichunter Paul says "the coolest class in any game ever"
Yeah so far, I think I want to be witchhunter, by far the best looking class to me on the Order side. I might go Knight of the Blazing sun. I've read up on them a bit and they sound interesting to play. We'll see though. If I go Destruction, I'd probably play a Chaos Chosen. I don't know what the High elves and Dark elves have to offer as of yet, but if it's anything good I might reconsider my choices. I'm still leaning towards the Order side as I agree over population sucks. It's one thing to have a lot of mediocre players on one side but to have a few on the other and be quality players is another.
I don't have beta access, so it's hard to know which class suits me best. From the descriptions I'd say a Chaos Marauder, but who knows? I might be disappointed when I actually get to play one.
I really want to see what classes they come up with for the Dark Elves. Initially I had thought the Chaos Zealot sounded cool (they described him as using all kinds of scarecrow totems, chains, skulls, daggers, etc), but the end result looks pretty lame. Looking for something else now. Witchhunters sound cool but you know that's what 90% of the people who roll Empire are going to be.

Sigh, if only you guys could see the abolute power of the ironbreaker class. Its scary being a non tank around them. Black orks are almost as powerful but with not as violent of special abilities. theres a gap between how powerful my ironbreaker was and how my black ork was, but theres a large gap between the third best class and these top 2.
well as long as they don't have some stupidly low # of characters you can have, i'll probably try for them all--have to have a couple different servers, but that's my current thoughts on it.
im pretty sure ill be a runepriest now that i think about it, dwarfs sound pretty could. Actually amazed that 28 votes and nobody voted shaman.
Well shaman when I played was a very hard to play class. It seemed to fit into that niche playstyle of being weily and doing alot of little annoying things that added up after a period of time, but never being powerful. I dont know if that makes sense. It was more like playing the daoc minstrel or playing the daoc cave shaman without the aoe dot. you just do alot of things to annoy and throw the enemy off balance while running away in hoped that a stumpy dosent 2 shot you.
I like more dynamic effect and impact classes myself.
I felt the runepriest was the weakest class. That said I am going to be playing a runepriest. (ive been a NWN cleric, I played a skald, an aug healer, holy priest and prot warrior who only pvp and never pve in wow... so I guess i like making gimpness work) I like the spells , they just werent used well by me.
Dwarven hammer was more powerful on a consistant basis, but its effectiveness was nowhere close to the 2 tank classes. look at a hammerer to a choppah as a combat rogue compared to a fury warrior (damage wise) Combat rogue does higher consistant dmage with so-so specials.... but the choppah has the highest damage once zerked out they deal large amounts of damage until they use up zerk on large specials... and then go back to their normal damage.
Im interested in seeing how casters vs tanks will work in this game. most of the tank classes (escpaially Ironbreaker, choppah and Blackork) get more and more powerful as time passes, while the casters will obviously be the opposite.
I had hoped to see more than one colour of magic allowed as a choice.
Especially since you know High Elf magic has all 8 colours in it. In the old days of the Warhammer game you could actually use the high elf magic and any of the colour decks.
They stopped that when they redid the brittonians and lizard men were just released. During the updated "magic phase" the older one was longer.. but more fun. But then i also miss Wargear and Vortex grenades from 40k
I don't like Bright Wizards. I thought they'd have included light magic too because of their acolytes rule, which would have meant a little wizard pet, more captain LOTRO style than warlock WoW style. But meh... maybe more classes will be available as the game develops.
Hopefully we'll see Hellblaster volleyguns and Steamtanks (i know there's only 8 of them) on a couple of battlefields in-game.
I wanted to be a Reiksguard captain as well boo... or a orcslayer gortex style.
But again speciality classes will hardly be seen... did think "pistolier" would have been a choice (without the mounts)
Still you gotta make do with what you've got, which is an old White Dwarf battlereport saying (mostly what the losing player said).
Hey where's all the sigmar stuff in the poll... no warrior priests.. they're even in the game !!
knights panther or the white wolf would have been cool too, rather than the slightly queer looking and sounding; knights of the blazing sun.
Would you play a "cool" class if it was not as powerful as other classes?
Would you play a "dumb" class if it was more effective than other classes?
example. If witch hunter and Dark Elven Corssairs werent as powerful or effective as other classes.... would you play them? Ironbreaker is "boring" and "basic" but its highly effective (so far) and definatly the best toon..... but would the power of the class propell people to play it?
I look at daoc. The "cool" class was the thane, big thunder and lightning weilding aoe nuking while wearing chain armor and weilding big hammers. The class was ineffective. The Bezerker of midgard was very basic. But it was so basic it did its job well and thus was highly effective in its role.
