UO Gold question

well, i got a few questions about it, i'm already downloading the KR client to try it out but i want to know some things about the versions with the old graphics engine:
- should i get UO Gold or should i get something like Samurai Empire or Mondain's Legacy? (mainly, which would be better to get?)
- do i actually have to buy an account key UO Gold or if i do the free trial can i just pay monthly and keep playing?
- is it worth paying for UO Gold or any of the others mentioned? are there enough people playing on any of the servers other than KR to be worth playing?

If you are going to buy a version for the 2D client then buy the 9th anniversary edition.
This gives you access to all current lands/expansions except the KR upgrade.
I think you are misunderstanding. There are no specific 2D servers or KR servers you can use either client on any server. You can even switch clients between characters if you want. example you log in with your new character just to go look at the new KR client, ok you get tired of crashing and unfinished parts, so you log out and log back in and choose the 2D client which is stable, and you go out and slay the dragon, make some armor, go out and pk/pvp whatever you want.
