Request to anyone still playing?

I stopped playing everquest two years ago and I've missed it terribly.  I've been following EQ2 religiously and plan to pick up there.  But one thing has been haunting me ever since I left.  The background music playing in greater faydark when you were moving through the city of kelethin.  I was wondering if anyone had the mp3 files of this if they can let me know.  I'm dying to hear that music again...

hiya. you should be able to reinstall the game and go into the music folder and pull out all of the .wavs/mp3 and get the entire soundtrack image

I tried that, but the files were all .eef or something.  And I heard they were in mp3 format if you have the game from the EQ Trilogy pack, so I was just wondering if anyone here has that.

Just quite EQ.  Been playing off and on for four years.  The death penalty is a hassle in that game.  Your items remain on your corpse and you have to run ALL THE WAY BACK to get them.  This, and the fact that the servers seem to be dying, means grouping is more and more difficult to get.  So, you solo, you die, you run back to get your items off your corpse.  And all from a game which will be eclipsed big-time by EQ2 in three months.

So what's the point?  I don't see any.  EQ was a great game, but it is time to move on.  Past time!

My point is that I've really been looking for the background music to kelethin and I'd appriciate anyone who can locate me a version of the file.  I heard those with the trilogy set had them in mp3 versions.

I've installed the trilogy set, but there are also .eef files.

Damn, I saw a screenshot that had all the mp3 files under the folder of Everquest Triolgey Set, wonder what the guy did to get them there...

Did you guys do the patching?

Download all of the latest patches and optional files, they might be in there somewhere.

hey, try just changing the file suffix from .eef to .mp3
sometimes they just change the file names so that eq can recognize them.
