i got a key and a set up account and the un-updated version is sitting on my comp right now...i'm afraid to play b/c of ratings, updating took FOREVER w/ the last version and the last version also didn't get along w/ Vista too well (ton of lag) but since ppl are wonderin about it...i'll update it tonight, play it tomorrow and tell ya all, that sound good? I do good reviews, btw (i did one on Dungeon Runners if you guys wanna check it out

Yeah I tried to try it. Got my betakey but got a damn error when making my account. Now it is in use... I can enter my account but can't post on the forums or enter my key. Pissed off. I say it sucks.

well, i got the client and a set up account but the game just refuses to load...it doesn't freeze...(cuz the things in the loading screen continue to change) but it doesn't load...might be my damn Vista Home Premium...

I got it downloaded (finally took forever) and was able to login to the client (got the activation error too but it seemed to accept my account) but then other than a changing slideshow of cute little "this is a great game" type screens the thing never loads. I assumed that it was trying to patch so I left it running for almost two hours and came back and it was still at the exact same place in the loading process bar at the bottom right hand of the screen. Has anyone actually managed to even play at all?

First if you get an error when creating your acct, it still should work, d/l the game and I'll bet your able to log into it and start it up. I've tried 3 different accounts and emails. got the same error msg after all 3. Then decided to try and log in, and I was able to.

Took forever for it to load/update, what ever it did after I got the game up. But I finally got in. It isn't to bad but there isn't alot of info, just done a few newbie quest so far, running around shooting mobs. Standing on rocks where they can't reach me and shooting mobs. Died a few times, seems ya don't lose anything untill lvl 10, after that I odn't know what you lose. Also can't pvp untill lvl 10. Pretty much all I know so far, alt tabed out to try to look for info, but they don't have any forums up yet.

i just want to warn everyone about RR (Rapid Reality), the company producing this.

this is the extremely abridged version. search for stuff on a game called "The Chronicle" which never saw the light of day - this is the same crew.

they were selling beta places for The Chronicle which went belly up (and had gone belly up 5 or 6 months before admitting it to people waiting on it).

they then told us our beta places were good for Phylon, the sequel to Endless Ages which they acquired when they bought MMOLands.com. then our forums went down

no refund, no info about this closed beta we should be on, no answer to our emails and no other way to contact them. i know for a fact that other members of the old Chronicle community have been screwed over similarly but they did a good job of trying to cut us all off from one another.

this company stinks. the interviews about 'ingame communication' on this site are hilarious to read. it's the same stuff they were spouting when boasting about how different they were to everyone else in the mmorpg industry, specifically in communicating with the playerbase. if they can't manage it in real life (where updates took months), i don't expect it in a sequel to one of the worst mmorpg games ever made - a sequel made by completely different people to the original.

ask yourself, why does a company buy a terrible mmorpg and release a sequel? it's stunted thinking.

anyway, i don't expect this to last in this forum for too long if they're paying advertising on this site. who knows, we'll see.

i managed to d/l the game thinking i could register that way since the site is:

1. Far to slow, i have a fast connection but c'mon, i am rather impatient haha

2. Doesnt work either

i click register and it says you need key validation. I see it has a keycode in there so i click validate. it says Welcome but then i have not registered or anything no information from me and atm im stumped. wanted to give it a go tbh but doesnt look like this game even will let us try it. if any1 can get it working let us all know.

I played the original Endless Ages and have been messing around in this game since very early beta. I must say, that while there are a number of issues with the game, rapid reality has done a good job communicating on the forums (at least while the forums were accessible) and have made massive improvements in a relatively short time. Quests, items, arenas, zones, UI, they have all undergone significant and beneficial changes since the beta started. I'll certainly admit the game is nowhere near perfect, and even if the devs make every right decision it wont be a big game, but it can certainly do a lot to satisfy a niche market if they make the right dchoices.

I cant say much to the old TC community. This is not the game you wanted for certain, and I'm not trying to defend RR for their actions on that front. I'm also not trying to be a blind fanboy who ignores all the issues with the website and some of the significant bugs that are still in the game. I'm just saying that beyond all those problems, theres a fairly enjoyable game here with what appears to be a dedicated development team.

Does anyone actually know how to make the game work? I too cannot get past the loading screen with all the cute help boxes.

i am also wondering how to get it to work.

it has been "loading" for 2 hours and the bar hasn't moved.

how long did it take for you others to get past the "loading" screen, with all the "cutesy" nonsense about how to play?

the generic reply i received included a statement about waiting 3 days and the problem might clear up, along with all the other standard "it is probably some one elses fault"

anyone successful yet?

I got it to finally start loading.

In the Phylon directory there is a file called CLIENTLOG.TXT.

Open it and see if the authorization failed. I kept tying in my password for the site, and not the one for the game (I think that is what I did wrong)

When I typed in the password I remembered from when I purchased the game it started load.

There was no error message or any other indication that my password was wrong, it just failed to start loading.

I think I had to create several accounts and password to play the game.

One for the game, one for the Phylon website, and one for D2D.

Each one is different and each one works.

I thought the Phylon website one was used to play the game, but I guess I was wrong.

this worked for me, i hope it works for others.

the load time was about 30 minutes, and you could see the bar almost immediately.

finally figured it out just in time for me to go to bed.

a simple "incorrect password" dialogue box would have saved me 4 hours searching the web and rebooting / resetting routers and closing firewalls and all other other crap.

hopefully the game is worth it, but to paraphrase the magic 8 ball "All signs point to NO"

So far, it doesn't feel like it's worth it. As I have conversed with players in the game, so far only the Human race doesn't suffer the terrible "Loading Failed" bug that pretty much stops you from ever respawning after you die. So you can only play humans. You start off, it is fun for 5 minutes, then you realise that you need to pack a bigger punch. You talk to a computer robot that says it will upgrade your gun for you. He needs you to collect items and doesn't tell you where. So I spent 5 hours searching and questing and finally got my brand new upgraded gun, that does an extra 8 damage. Not too great. Anyways, the quest NPCs gave me a tip on "Where to get a better gun". Anyways, I followed that quest line, generic kill monsters, retreive me their hoof and horn, same old same old. I was brought from NPC to NPC with promises of a new gun. Finally, I hit the final npc. Now he wants me to win an arena game. Few problems, I need players to fight, and this game has no players.Players are not usually patient enough to go through what I've gone through without going insane to even want to start playing in the arena. So I'm kinda stuck at level 8, can't use a better gun, monsters I kill fast don't give enough exp. I need a better gun to kill tougher monsters. I might need a friend to party with but theres nobody on. Absolutely nobody. They should bring this game back into beta, or do the free to play w/ item mall type of thing. Please, don't be like me, the screenshots and video is nothing what the game is like.

So all this happend in actual retail? Which is now? Or was this in beta? Is there still nobody playing even in retail?

Only issue with all the comments is, very little of it is about the game now as it stands. Its either about RR's past history, or older beta stuff.

Im curious how the game is now as its retail, and if the game is supported well or not.

The site looks a little shady... but the game looks interesting.

I understand there is a lot of hate for the company and rightly so, but Im not against giving people a second chance... however, screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me. I want a bit more info.
