Possible manaburning problem

i Was just thinking... Spellsweave seems alot like chaincasting, and havingyou casts all hit at the same time and stay with you, but if u actually do this, doesnt the mana you have get impacted the same way as just chaincasting, so if in fact you perform spellweave... wont you be very low on mana after? so does tha tmean spellweave is an emergency thing or not going to be used that much?? Im concerned about it causing alot of downtime

    Well I would hope we don't get another Dark Age of Castalot.If any attack can do tremendous damage I would imagine its not spamable.

    Spellweaving in and of itself can be a very powerful ability, as such, it must have a counter. Assuming the mana is a problem, it, along with Soul Corruption, will keep mages from spamming AoE spellweave after weave. Spellweaving will likely be conserved for group activities, particularly the siege battles.

    Hope not very weak and super spamm-like.........and surely that doesn't burn all the MP in like 2 secs :S

    On the contrary, spells are made to be quite powerful. But, here at least, power comes at a price. Such as, say, your character's soul literally being dragged off to hell if he's not careful about how many spells and of what types he casts.

    aeflin,what exactly happens to a mage when he is dragged to hell.Is it like he overheats and ignites,or does he go into a wicked instanced dungeon.

    I don't know how they will animate the sequence, but apparently the gist of it is the character dies horribly, and ends up in a hellish dungeon where he has to fight to retrieve his soul before respawning as normal. Gaining too much Soul Corruption will cause this to happen after death, and eventually cause the death itself.

    Strangely enough I find that my favorite new concept in aoc.
