I think that grinding in good and bad. Good for those who need a couple points to lvl up; bad because it invites the use of botters (I hate those guys). Honestly if the developers know what’s good for the game and they will do something innovative with grinding and everything else in the game (or lots of people wont play and the game will be a bust). Regardless what anyone says they about how they hate it but know it is necessary and do it when need be (some a lot). But I don’t think any one wants to see lvl 60’s wiping lvl 30’s and below because they can.
The Devs have already stated that there will be little to no 'grind' feel to the game. I believe they have already said that it will take around 200 hours to reach max level. They do this so players can create another char and fully experience every aspect of the game. Check out www.stargatewiki.com for info
Yes, this is another aspect im waiting with mixed feelings. I like doing alts, but i tend to get very keen on my main. So i hope i have enoug to do with my main when i hit the levelcap!
Or can they pull off something innovative? They have the U3 engine, for Sokar's sake. The possibilities are endless.
However, I'm afraid it will end up as "SG Commando lvl60 beats Jaffa lvl30 with two keystrokes".
Dev posts on official posts and several interviews says they be no grinding. I'm sure the answers at forums.Stargateworlds.com. Btw in stargate worlds the commando is a stealth class, reling on concealment and long range weapons.

Actually its been stated that this game will have a 200 hour level cap *and thats for the casual player* and in MMO sense thats not much compaird to WoW and otehr games like that.. in some interview *sorry at the moment it escapes me* they even stated that they made the level cap so short so that yuo can re roll and see the story on the other side .. *as in you can play the Jaffa rebellion on time and then a jaffa loyal to the Gou'ald the next *

I was originally very sad to hear that you were going to be able to reach cap so fast but then I gave it some thought. Reaching the cap fast doesn't bother me if there is still plenty to do once I reach it. This is why I REALLY hope they do some kind of PvP that includes being able to control planets for resources for your faction.

yeah if you think of it .. its only the level cap.. which as you said would not actually mean the end of the Quest and also PVP.. which if you think of it would be a lot better haveing a fullly maxed character in a month so that you can PvP .. then a Character that you would at least need a year to level up.. let alone gain enough materials so that you can sucessfully PvP

My opinion is that a lot of the success of this game is going to depend on the amount of "End game content". If people hit the cap and then there is nothing left to do to give them a sense of accomplishment they will stop playing. If I am playing a member of the SGC and I can go raid g'ould planets to PvP and gain control of it or gain materials to help my faction then I am going to keep playing. If I am playing a member of the SGC and the only thing there is to do after I hit cap is run around killing stuff with no goal then I probably won't last very long. I am PRAYING they go with the first.

Definatly they should go with your first idea because well.. who loves running around killing things in MMO's.. not that many..
but yes .. end Game content I think is a biggie for the Developers for this game ..not to mention the fact that they made the game so that they really want people to reroll their characters so that you can see the other side of the conflicts.. which it in itself is still high on content .... not to mention that there probably will be Expansions that would allow the players that have reached the level cap new content.. although there will be a wait for the expansions it is still better then nothing

The issue I have with setting a game up with a short lvl cap expecting the player to reroll and lvl up another class is this. Take EQ2 for instance. I love the game but it doesn't really matter if you are playing a "good" or "bad" character the game plays the same from either side. Evel quest giver gives a quest to kill 10 x and 5 y. Good quest giver gives a quest to kill 5 x and 10 y. Its still really the same expirence regardless of which side you play. For SGW's theory to really work n in practice they have to make the game play unique on all sides or else there is no reason to lvl another character to do the same thing you have already been doing except now your killing 10 humans instead of 10 jaffa for a quest. It will be interesting to see how it works out in the end. I am really looking forward to it.
