Chinese grind with 3 people in party instead of 1. Click floor movement and item shop.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
He's a fan of most asian mmo's for awhile until his disillusions vaporizes, meaning; when he stops playing them due to the games going retail (THEN HE HAVE PAY OH NOES) or lack of intrest.
You should've seen how he defended ArchLord and boasted it like no tommorow.
Most MMO's are crap though, total lacklusters and shallow. Oh it all looked so promosing years back but it's all about pleasing the masses now that only want something simple and eye-candy. I always pay for my games in retail. Also I don't have any "Disillusions". lets not pretend you know anything about me. In fact, you make all those claims about me but I'm sure you don't even know which games I'm currently playing.
But please carry on on your anti - MMO crusade, makes sense on an MMORPG forum....
It was ok, combat could be a little hectic if you didn't stay in the same spot waiting for spawns. It was fun though trying to keep the ai in line. The theme was interesting, also liked some of the music.
My problems with it where I hit the grind early, translations where bad, that whole logging you out thing if you're in the wrong battle mode for too long, and not enough character customization. Worth a try if you like to try different MMOs, didn't hold my attention long enough.
Anyone who says this game is a grind is ignorant. Play this game up to level 20 and tell me it again. You barely feel the way up to level 20. You will pretty much be doing quests the whole way and not leveling a whole much.
Quests give VERY good exp and these quests are more interesting than go here and defeat 1 billion monsters. You have quests to defend towns from invading mobs and quests to deliver shit.
I dislike grinds as much as the next guy, however, this game... is... not... a... grind! Most people who say this is a grind are normally from WoW and ,honestly, WoW is extremely easy to level up. To a WoW player ANYTHING is a grind.
Same mobs over and over again? Nope. Extreme amount of monsters everywhere. It is very visually entertaining to see the massive waves of enemies flow at you. They are not all the same. Bored of seeing the "same monsters over and over again"? Go to a different, more challenging dungeon.
This game is challenging. Very much so. It isn't challenging in the hardcore grind way but more in a sense of having to constantly being careful of your characters as they fight off huge waves of monsters.
Point and click... Has any one here played any old school Real Time Stratedgy games? I use that instead of RTS since some of you are ignorant. Try playing Age of Empires using WASD. Unless you have about a hundred keyboards for Age of Empires and the mind power to keep you head on it AND about five hundred arms it isn't gonna work. Same as SoTNW.
AFK? I tried AFKing on the normal Granado Espada version, not SotNW, and it's hard enough already. The massive amounts of mobs knock your character down and kill your team taking them our of AFK mode. It's even harder on SotNW.
Graphics. These graphics are beautiful. They are the best graphics for any fantasy MMO out there in my opinion.
I have not played this game, and most likely never will so I cannot build my opinion really. But from what I've seen so far it is more of the same. Endless grinding, no original gameplay, repeative gameplay. Nothing new basicly.
I am not a fan of everything being damn Anime based
Pisses me off
Even though I havent played this game so I cant give an opinion on it, I hate Anime and even though the game could be GREAT I wont play it because Anime characters look all the same to me and I simply hate them.
I'd log off as soon as I logged on.

well i havent played the game but i heard that the grind was incredible whats your opinion on the grind? and it has an item shop too doesnt it?
I only played it a bit, but it's like this. I made an elementalist, musketeer and a warrior. I just ran around the map while my elementalist and musketeer basically 1-2 shot everyone while at the same time my warrior was trying to get close to the enemey. I'm guessing at high levels it isn't so easy and you have to manage your party a bit more but for the time being I didn't use any skills at all because I just wasn't fast enough. The enemies also drop health items, that when you collect them you automatically get some of your HP back and most of my time playing I didn't have to rest at all. The game can be confusing at first.
I have not played this game, and most likely never will so I cannot build my opinion really. But from what I've seen so far it is more of the same. Endless grinding, no original gameplay, repeative gameplay. Nothing new basicly.
A perfect example of ignorance. NOT endless grinding as so often pointed out. No original gameplay? Has anyone noticed that is basically a RTS MMO? THAT is new. Can I control three characters in WoW? Repetitive gameplay? Do some quests. The amount of quests rivals Guild Wars. Not kidding.

And recruiting NPC's, making them playable, I think just about any MMO has that. And I was playing WoW and EQ2 last night, and that stance system? Its exactly the same thing as the talents in those games. And obviously the fast paced gameplay has been done in MMO's a million times before.
stop being a fanboi, don't you know that its alright to stereotype over 200 mmo's on just a few games? tsk.

I'm guilty. Sword of the New World's PvP is EXACTLY the same as WoW's now that I think of it... Both of them are pointless without consequences!
I found it pretty damn boring, i like all forms of MMORPGS and i try to look for the good in all of them, but this one i struggled to find much. Straight from the get go i hated the 3 character system, i understand it must take practice, but that style is just not for me.
The game feels like it will lack community, mainly due to everyone having 3 characters, id find it hard trying to make friends in a game where the person your talking to is 3 different characters, afterall, in an MMORPG generally you are remembered by your character, avatar, class, not so much for your personality and due to everyone having to play atleast 3 of these, its as if that structure is broken, atleast for me anyways
The only thing that really sets this game apart from any other is the mutli character control, apart from that, there isnt much we havnt already seen in a whole load of other games. I dont find it dissapointing anymore because even though most games are becoming samey, they still have different environments and communities and really its all down to the gamer to find the one that he/she likes the most. Neither Granado Espada or Sword of the New World are what i am looking for in a game right now, i may give it another try in the future though.
Thanks alot
Garrik

I didn't have any problem with the game itself, but playing the SotNW open beta frustrated me with all of the poor translations and "feed the troops" style quests, which were still broken 2 parts in. I got sick of it after about 20 minutes.
I played quite a bit but was ultiamtely bored and disgusted by the grind. At least with the grind in this game, you don't ahve to work too terribly hard. You can literally stand in one place and level, but it's still a grind with little to no purpose. There isn't much to the game.
It had some interesting concepts, but the delivery was flawed.
