I have played this game since the begining of OB.
At first, it started off as any other MMO. Grind though the first few lvls.
Later, I was introducted to some content the game offered. Quests, Clans, PvP, etc.
Now, it's a power struggle of who will own what when and where. On server 5, TSA is the most powerful, most hated, and most respected Alliance. We have been in 3 wars, all of which we have come though with shining colors.
But, there are a few players who takes the game too seriously, too far.
Insulting someone, or attacking someone personally is just so damn F**KING stupid, immature and totally uncalled for.
These are the players which grieve other players, making it hard to enjoy the game as it was ment to be played.
Lineage][ is based on PvP. Not PKing without reason. It happens, people either get over it, or get over the game.
but to attack someone personally....
F**K that noise. If you're one of those players, you need to kick rocks and find help.

Well i like the fact that you can PK anyone anytime. I never personally played Lineage ][ except for like 20 min in Open Beta. I didn't like the gameplay too much, so i stopped playing but the whole PvP thing sounds awesome. You always have to watch your back, and it makes the game much more intense.
Now of course noone appreciated being PKd but its an aspect of the game you'll have to look out for. A lot of people enjoy PvP.
I bet you wrote this post right after pressing Alt + F4 and exiting from L][ for peing PKd didnt ya! haha well good luck.

Being able to Kill another person at any time is a good idea.
Being able to de level is not.
Since lvl 4 and below do not drop their items even when they receive karma from killing random defenseless players, there is nothing you can do but suffer.
The game allows any level to wear non graded equipment so a level 1 brand new player can achieve some nice power with just a good sword and armor donation.
So we have gangs of malicious morons with names like 'pku' and 'pku2' running around and attacking any one who walks out of the starting elf player towns.
Bots are every where.
I love fighting others in game, having battles and enjoying the win/loss recording but is hard to enjoy when you are minding your own business and some one jumps you and has a friend near buy ready to take the stuff you drop because the one killing you will be red.
PvP should be turned on/off with a command and have like a 5 minute wait so you can't just attack and then turn it off. There would be no need for karma then.
Not quite.
I have been PK'd once, and yes, I was bent over the fact that I was unable to defend myself.
9vs1 isn't exactly fare.
I have PvP'd a few times and have not died, luckly enough. Considering that I am a tank, and human for that fact. So I don't have the speed to run away, nor am I able to attack those, and can easily be kited. However, when it comes down to few vs few. I can hold my own.
The reasons for me being upset is not the PvP. It's those who have insulted, attacked and disrespected those players as a player, not the character. What gives "you" the right to attack "him/her" personally. Killing there character, that's fine. it's part of the game. But to go so far as to make it personal and out of game play?
F**K that. Those kids needs to learn repect for others. Yeah, who gives a rats ass if I insult a toon. Who cares if I PK him or her and say some random BS to boost my ego. I've had that done to me, and I have done it to others. Its part of the game.
NEVER insult the player. Insult the toon.

What pissed me of is that there is no official frienlist and when you install one by altering 1 file on your client, you can be banned.
EQ1 - played it, loved it
AC2 - played it, liked it
DAoC - played it, allready outdated
SWG - beta test, did not buy it
Planetside - played it for the trial period only
FFXI - played it for trial period only
Lineage 2 - beta test, will buy it
EQ1 - played it, loved it
AC2 - played it, liked it
DAoC - played it, allready outdated
SWG - beta test, did not buy
Planetside - played it for the trial period only
FFXI - played it for trial period only
Lineage 2 - beta test, played it for 3 months
...many games later...
I can recommend Guild Wars 2
/friendinvite is how you invite people to your friends list. It wasn't available unless you downloaded it, however, there had been a stink where 1 out of 10 were harboring a virus which caused the L2 client to shut down or crash.
EQ1- Played it, hate to love it and loved to hate it.
AC- Played it, hated it
AC2- Played it, my class got nerfed, so i quit
SWG- Played it, liked it until I was platto'd. Got boring quick, even with PvP
FFXI-Tried it, ejoyed the free month, but won't pay to play.
Horizons-Loved the dragons, but the game itself? bleh
Lineage][- So far, it has kept my interest. I quit for 2 weeks and found that I went back. Still enjoyable.

Still, installing the friendlist should be your own risk then and not a reason to get banned.
Note for those who use client 'fixes', NC soft is not allowed to check your client unasked. But when you submit a screenshot and they can see on that there is something wrong expect to be banned (for sure when they think you bought gamemoney with real money)
