My favorite has to be the day creature mounts went live and my MCH (remember those?) made a fortune that still exists today....

I posted this on another thread, but it doesn't seem to get much attention there so I'll try here:

I think we need to start a petition for SOE/LA to make a Pre-Nge Galaxy (Or More). We obviously miss this game terribly, and I know i still haven't found an MMO worth playing since the destruction of SWG. I would start the petition, but I don't know how to or who I would send it to. Please someone who knows how to go about this start one. Maybe we can finally get the point across to SOE/LA!

Best Memory: Playing Pre-NGE SWG into the early morning with my buddies. Also finding the two Gurk King spawn points, what a great day!

Couple days ago rebels and imps had a massive battle in naboo, must of been atleast 150v150 , It was so fun.

In my 4 years of playing and countless pvp battles, I've never been to one of such scale, must of gone on for atleast 11 hours

Could only play it for 4 hours though, but we managed to rack up loads of rebel scum :D

I wish SOE would actually listen to a petition, and all of the vets memories, and wanting to go back. They will never again bring back the good old days, not even if a million people petitioned. Lucas Arts (from what I read and heard) wanted the game dumbed down a little, so people (i.e. younger people) could learn faster, and have an easier to use UI (basically make it WoW like, because WoW was popular). Regardless of what really happened, our beloved game isn't coming back, no matter what we do. Ahh well ... we can dream I suppose.

Another Memory: Well many memories from this one ... I became a master architect on Starsider, and received so many "contracts" to decorate houses, guild halls, and such ... and loved doing this sooo much. I made a lot of money from doing that, and selling harvesters. I love that a game had economics like that, that actually felt like real life. Crafting was so much fun in that game (more so resource gathering. Of course, just personal opinion, I heard that some people hated it).

One my most remembered memories of SWG was a month or 2 before NGE, Imps(me) were raiding a large rebel city on corlin that had the city around the base's it was maybe 120+imps vs at the start 120+ rebels the GMs saw how big this was and made it into a event poped 3 AT-ATs and Special forces for Rebels.

Was some of the best PvP and fun i had Pre-NGE.

    Already been done son, either;

Not enough people signed the petition

It's already been stated no rollback is coming

It's already been stated no pre-cu or 'classic' or 'old' servers are coming.

Either way, SOE and LA won't be make any pre-cu servers. Sorry.

Gosh i hated the jedi grind, probably why so many quit when they found out about it o.o

I grinded for like 2 weeks then thought 'whats the point' so i took BH  , could sink jedi easily.

I agree, I hated the jedi grind but the point of it for me was to have a 2nd character slot.

Aside from that the only good thing that came out of the jedi grind was the village post-holocron era. That was some of the best content I'd seen in this game IMO. It makes me wonder how much longer it will be before it is re-packaged as new content.

Some of my best memories would have to be...

    1. Squill caves, this place was funny as hell when you had graphics turned all the way down (like I originally did on my old system). They looked like dirty old men running along trying to gobble you up haha.

    2. DWB, fun times in this place with my guild and friends, good stuff!

    3. Playing with my guild mates! I was in a guild called KOALA / KOALR (PvP) on Bria, biggest Aussie guild in SWG I think. We always had fun times giving the yanks a run for their money in PvP, was good fun all round.

    4. Laughing at my guild's PvP guild slaughtering our PvE guild because someone thought it would be a good idea to turn the switch on.

    5. Roleplaying with my Jedi postCU, even though you really didn't need to I thought it was funny when I appeared out of no where to slaughter some random Imperial (i'm rebel for life!).

    6. Running from 1 BH for like 8 hours, kept chasing me on jetpack and I didn't have time to destroy his jetpack and when we engaged combat it was always a draw. I ended up asking a guild mate to come over and help me 2v1 him LOL, we were in guild war with BH's guild at the time.

    7. PvP raids.. hands down! the best PvP I have __ Ever __ had in a game, it was simply awesome.. even if you did get 1 frame per minute during the massive battles.

    8. During first week of playing SWG with my friends we were killing mobs in tatooine as a group, then all of a sudden a ship came out of no where loaded with stormtroopers and I remember falling off my chair laughing at one of my mates getting focus fired on by all these NPC's. The one and only time i've seen a ship land and unload stormtroopers onto an XP group.

    PreNGE ftw......... I miss it

Geez, I started playing at around publish 3 or 4. I don't remember exactly. I do know speeders existed. My best memories were probably:

My first time breaking 1mil credits.

    Getting my scythe.

FINALLY mastering Ranger (mastering Swordsman was easy) - Kabukki on Sunrunner

Being the discount doc (Ooso the Rodian on Tarquinas). When everybody charged 10-15k for a set of buffs, I charged 5k for much better ones, stole everybody's customers, and still made a profit. Made a lot of friends that way, too (except for the other docs, but a few of 'em tried to compete with me, and thus prices overall tended to drop. Yeah, that was all me ).

Green buffing the entertainers for free mind buffs.

Staying up 'til the wee (wee, very wee) hours in the morning, hanging out in strange places heal grinding and chatting.

Leaving my client open all night to survey 1k units of some good material.

Walking into a nightsister's camp with my swordsman/ranger/TKA and totally destroying them all, remembering fondly how the last time I was even NEAR them I had myself and my speeder destroyed (oh Dathomir, how I long for thee).

Learning that I couldn't solo (or even duo) a Krayt dragon (I didn't actually see my first Krayt 'til long after they revamped 'em over and over so that they couldn't be solo'd)

RPing. What's that? People actually acted in character? Some did, and it was grand.

Entertainer groups (what? I had a lot of alts. ) Non-AFK entertainers get better tips, and the only time I'd ever AFKplay in that game was to survey.

It's amazing. Before today, whenever I thought of SWG, all I could remember was how crappy they made it, and how much I missed it, but I never actually thought about what it was that I missed. Now that I'm thinking about it, there were so many good memories.

Spending forever running from Bestine to Jaba's Palace to do missions. This was before speeders and mounts. And If you went out there, you planned on staying out there for a day or so to complete your missions, so you wouldnt have to run back. I also had recently aquired 3 rebel npc troopers to help me on my missions. Was a fun time.

The coolest thing I remember was logging in for the first time back in June of 2003, and right when I spawned I had all these people around me speaking in strange tongues.  It felt very Star Warsy, had Wookies grunting and growling, had Rodians speaking in Rodese, etc.  Felt very cool, soon after that I had some bloke offer to teach me all these languages...naturally I agreed because I wanted to be able to converse with others and soon after the strange languages faded away.

I miss a lot of things about the old days.  Teaming up with random people and going out and hunting, and later these "random" people became good friends.

This is my best time in ANY video game ever. I was gimpfu on Ahazi.

The first few weeks after launch there was a 24/7 war at the tusken fortress. When we were all low level with crappy gear there'd be 50-100 people fighting the tuskens! And there'd be 10-15 scout camps around the place. When you died you'd always have tons of people to run back with. It was amazing. It was true warfare. 30 of us on 1 tuskan raider! and he'd kick mos of our asses. So fun. Met so many people. Chilled out in camps and watched the battles.

Didn't last long. As we leveled up and finally got good gear tuskans weren't that hard to kill anymore. But the lametastical SOE dev's take the cake. They changed it so the tuskans wouldn't respawn for like 1-2 hours after they died. Shit with 30 people to kill one of them it wasn't like we were raking in the XP. IT WAS JUST PURE FUN. I'll always hate the SOE dev's for their lack of thought and stealth nerfs. and guess what??? AFter they changed the respawn time no one went there anymoe!! it was no longer a point of interest.

However, I heard that one reason they nerfed tusken fort  is because all the people in that one spot were causing the servers problems.

I remember rading the night sisters (forget if that's their name) with 20 people and probably almost all of us were pistoleers. it'd take 10 minutes and constant pistol whips to kill one of them. it ruled.

Then of course I was one of the first Baz Nitch farmers. that was hella fun.

Oh yeah I used to get up way early morning and hunt krayts before the servers went down at 6 AM or whenver.

I could go on and on I had so much fun in this game.

I loved SWG when it came out. But I quit when the holocrons came out. I'd had it with the nerfs and complete retardedness on the dev's part. Holocrons were just stupid. And my grades were suffering so that helped me quit.

My best memory is a toss-up

    - Getting banned from the game for telling a hilariously insane joke in the forums
    - Hiding under the bushes exploiting the biznatch bug. Then a GM told me to stop, but I didn't believe it was really a GM so I told him where he could go. Then he froze my character just to prove he was a GM and told me, again, to stop. (I stopped)
    - Making fun of this female player who took herself way too seriously in the forums and in the game (Cry4Dawn, you out there? I still laugh at you with my friends!!!)

    Good times!

I'd have to say my very best memory in Star Wars Galaxies had to be the very first.

Creating that character and logging in for the first time. I'd waited to get the game for such a very long time and now it was here. Getting to choose my starting city had me in a whirlwind and i finally chose Kor Vella, Corellia as a Human. Once i was in the game i spent the first hour wandering around the city and figuring out how things worked. Back then... most cities were populated regardless, as players chose where they could start and hovered around those cities until they advanced far enough into the skill tree, wanted to see another planet, or joined a guild.

I remember being completely lost in the game and trying my hands at combat, nearby were three other guys who had just started the game like myself and one fourth guy who was already squared away and nearing on master marksman. He was showing the three guys the ins and outs of combat. When i arrived he quickly swarmed over to help me out and give me tips and pointers. Taught the (what we now consider to be basic knowledge) advantages of prone, kneeling, and standing positions as well as guiding us through skill boxes for a few hours before he'd set us off on our own.

The other memory i can think of that comes close.. was a guild a friend and I chose to create for the sake of roleplay and depth to the game. We'd gathered up a massive ammount of tusken suits when they were considered rare drops and started a "Tusken" Guild. Set up a small tusken city north west of Anchorhead/Bestine and decorated the city as best we could to fit a tusken world. We got massive numbers wanting to join, as well as morons and jerks who showed up just to harass and annoy the members. Using a combination of Star Wars Books and Wookieepedia we set up the guidelines and feel of the guild. It continued successfully until the CU when numbers began to decline and then ultimately collapsed the day the NGE hit and people quit the game in groves. The WoW craze didn't help either.

I think i've still got screenshots of the city on a disk around here somewhere... hmm

Favorite memory I almost forgot about:

I was an expert BH, pistoleer, and CH. However I would wander around with "master Chef" above my head because well you could manually change titles if you knew how (devs finally fixed this)

Anyways, I stumble upon som role players when I'm just checkin out the awesome scenery. I'm chillin, then I decide to leave. All the sudden this role player says 'hey man will you get out of here we're role playing'. I say 'hell no' and decide to hang out with them. The guy gets pissed and repeatedly yells at me to leave them alone. I'm like no way dude im just chillin you leave. So the guy challenges me to a duel. Well I had no weapon equipped. So I accept the duel, quickly equip my pistol and one shot kill this noob with an eye shot of course I finished him. Now this nube was pissed as he had to walk forver to get back to his role player friend.

    Funniest thing I ever encountered.

Three memories from me. . .

The first was before I even bought the game.  My son, who must've been five at the time, driving to buy the game, we were so excited that we could barely control oourselves.  At that moment we were friends, and I was five again.  Got home and the Star wars music hit us and we both smiled so huge I think we busted our faces because niether of us could quit.

The second:  I made my character (the most advanced character creation ever), picked marksmen at first, and entered the game world.  I ran around for a bit and took it all in.  Shot a few low level creatures.  I eventually started to explore and ran into a scout camp.  People were just hanging out talking and there was a musician playing.  I said, "Too bad you can't hear the music."  I was told to /listen.  I was in awe.  I did not know, also, that you could build camps.  I Said "You can build camps?"  they told me that I could and that if I went to a scout trainer I could do it as well.  The musician the nsaid the best sentance I have ever heard in an MMORPG, he said, "Yeah, you can do anything."

Third:  fast forward months later, and I am now a ranger/ch on Endor collecting milk and hides and pets.  I suddenly get a tell.  Turns out that a groupd of people had heard (through a guild mate or something) about me being on Endor, and wanted me to escort them around to certain places so that they would not get lost.  Excellant accidental rolepaying.  I loved it.

I loved working together with my guildleader/armorsmith to get ready for wookie armor to launch.  My wife was a tailor. So, we all worked together to get the handful of wookies in our guild some armor suits ready to go once they were launched.  They really appreciated it and it was fun hunting for the hides/bones I needed to get the armorsmith going.

I think the most fun I have had was the Great Ranger Meets we had on Test Center and Wanderhome.  All these rangers from various servers would get together on one particular server to do some mass leveling and what not.  We would go hunt gorax or krayts as all newb scouts and marksman...lol.  The few Master Docs and whoever on the servers who joined us were just blowing through rez packs...lol.  No point in buffing us...lol.

Man, those were fun days.  Bout 50 rangers all hanging out in a High Tech Field Base on Endor.  Good times with good peoples.  :)

Hmm... I guess best alone time was just getting a pack of food/drink/spice as a Master TK and Master Ranger and setting out into the wild to see what I could handle with no buffs and minimal armor.  It was way more challenging and fun than getting uber buffed and becoming a composite clone and just hitting F3 a hundred times.  Wandering around the tusken wastelands as a Rifleman/Ranger dressed as a tusken wanderer, carrying my decent tusken rifle and riding my level 18 Wasteland Cupa.  He was about 2 times the size of a regular cupa.

The life of my character was in itself a great memory.  I started out as a Droid Engineer, picked up Pikeman, was MDE/MPike for a while, then I wanted to see the world.  So I sold the business, dropped DE and became a Pikeman/Ranger, tried out Rifleman/Ranger, went back to Pikeman.  Got tired of being a hermit, dropped Ranger , became a Pikeman/Dancer.  I liked being able to buff people, but I wanted to do more..at the same time, I didnt want to give up my precious pikeman.  So I became a Pikeman/Master Doctor.  When the CU hit, I went full tank force and became MTK/Mpike/MBrawler.  I escorted Jedi through Kashyyk, hehe.

When the NGE hit, I sat my character down in her house and meditated until the very last second, when the servers shut down for the last time and SWG was no more.  No more Pikeman/TK/Ranger.  No more Foomerang.  So my character died that day.  But the best part about the whole experience was that it was always my same character.  After time, she naturally develped a history and a story of her life in SWG.  Old friends would come up to me and ask "hows the Droid business treating you?"  Id say "oh I gave that up for a life of adventure, hehe"  The point was that everyone had that chance to let their characters grow, develop and evolve.  I didnt have to kill reroll a new character when I decided not to be a droid engineer anymore, I got to take that experience with my main character.

So yeah, thats why I loved that game, and thats why nothing else has come close to it.  The whole thing was a great memory.

Way to many memories to go through =( I think the best was on Gorath There was this imperial named Ace a TKM/commando i believe, he and about 8 or so Imperials would come to anchorhead every night light clock work and have their way with the place. Now me being the weak self proclaimed "Worst PVPer on the server" was funny enough the only one with enough guts to overt and fight him half of the time. Every once and a while we would beat him and his little gang but usually not. some of the battles were really awsome though. Anyway that was from my time with crimson legion(funny bit of information i think they are the only guild in the history of guilds to ever copyright their guild name) and then after when they ceased to exist, i was just a little cantina rat and never left anchorhead because there was always something to do there, then i hooked up with another guild and stoped going never know what happened to the guy.

It was on one of the Euro servers, Chimaera, I think, two or three days after the launch on this side of the Atlantic. Ten or twenty of us - very few of us higher than Master Marksman - all went to Dathomir under the leadership of one of the first Commandos on the server. I was a Marksman going for Pistoleer with some scout (for the camps). We all zoned in to the Science Camp. It was dark and rainy and eventually we straggled out of the camp, all together, to hunt Vernes - that was the highest level creature our combined levels could get us. As we travelled into the gloom, we made a wide circuit to avoid rancors roaring and fighting each other off in the dustance. Finally, we engaged the vewrnes, it took all our strengths but we brought one down. After that excitement, we needed to rest and heal so someone put up a little camp and our entertainers began to dance and play. I wasn't so badly wounded, so I wandered off a little way, I think to look over the edge of a cliff.

I saw a dark figure beside me. i walked towards it.

Then there occurred that clap of thunder that SOE sometimes worked into the sound effects. in the flash of lightning, i saw it was a Nightsister Dragoon.

I nearly jumped out of my skin.

Like an idiot, I ran back to the camp. I can't remember whether she struck me with lightning or with her polearm before proceeding to kill everyone else there. It was like 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'. But in space! In space!

    Excellent times.
