I wonder myself if the game will ever live up to the hype. I hope it will, I know for sure it won't suck though.
i played alot of MMOs and i think they all had something that sucked but i never hated them but wow
we all diffrent taste and thats it
Always do the right thing
First of all even if this game will not suck when it comes to gameplay and depth, it will suck when it comes to hardware you need to run in. You think your $2k worth machine will run it all on high? Think again... So after you sell your kidney to be able to afford a good machine that just might run this game on low or low-medium, don't whine how shit the game is and how much it sucks. What do I care for a game with SWG like crafting, WoW like UI and fun factor and EvE depth when I (and 85% of other MMO players) can't run the damn thing! It's the damn lack of dev's imagination. So to make it up for the lack of gameplay they go for uber graphics just to hide the fact how sucky their game is. Oh and today's devs shouldint be called developers since they aint developing shit! They are just copying stuff from other games! Might as well call em copyers (sp). Why is WoW big? Becouse 20 years old PC can run it! Why Vanguard sucks? Even on top-notch PC game still runs like shit (among many, many, many other things).
And I see some people are offended by the fact that I put LotRO with Vanguard and Dark and Light. I beta tested LotRO for two fricking years. I logged in like 15 times all together. I have more fun at the dentist then I had playing that game. It's some lousy SP game that tries to charge money for some stinky MP. If it didn't have Lord of the Rings in it's name no one would even know that it exists.
And same ol' same ol'. How hard it is to come up with some new kind of quests? Kill XX, bring XX - that's it! Those are the all quests in every single MMO out there. "Quest". More like some sucky mission for a retard. Quest should be much, much deeper. And don't you get sick of "Thank you so much! You helped us defeat the bandits and now they will never come back and we will live in bla bla bla", you walk 15m away and there it is! 15 more bandits are there and you just killed em 2 min ago o/
So in the end this game will suck. Like all games suck. You will get hyped, buy the game and never resub to it after 1st month. Devs don't care - you bought their game and they made money of you! They win, you lose and you whine and flame em. Oh and don't forget about just how unfinished this game will be when it hits the stores. I don't blame devs for that one (tho they should make better plans), it's greedy corps who publish the game. And if you think that self publishing is the way to go - think again. Check out Savage 2. Boy that game went down hill. It was suppose to be out like year ago and still no beta. Why? No publishers to squeeze their balls. It's kind of a paradox.
Long gone are the days of original games and unbelievable game play. These day's it's all a bout graphics. If I want ultra real FPS I would go to local paintball club...

If "every " MMO sucks, then why are you here making a hate thread? I don't think this even qualifies under the word "troll" because you're just taking a shot at anyone and everyone. So, yeah, your a few levels below the word "troll".
Since you don't like MMOs, then just leave the website and stop ultra-trolling people who really couldn't care less about what you think.
If someone is having fun, leave them alone. If you're not, you're perfectly able to express your opinion, but don't whine when your one little post doesn't bring a game to its knees.
I'm sure a game that has no promise what so ever is the perfect canidate for a "little extra financing" only months before release. SAy, oh... $30 million? That is what most MMOs have had as funding for their whole project! (including vanguard) There has to be a reason why so many investors see more promise in this game than others in the past.
I plan to give it a chance. My wife plans to as well. She is intrigued by a game with nudity as she hopes it will deter many younger kids from being able to play. Only time will tell on that one. I am sure enough of them will be able to find a way to play just like any other game.

COX (100 Million)
LOTRO (to new to have a value but will be)
Maybe SWG (Had stable playerbase, been around for a while)
Guildwars (WOuld have a higher value if it was P2P)
UO - (100 Million, Value lowered over time. IF sold it would be strictly for the rights to make it 3D)

for you to say that this game will suck when having no idea is just stupid. And obviously some mmos suck and some of them dont. If your still waiting for that MMO that does it all keep waiting. Its just gaming.
I actually enjoy this troll, he is pretty funny. I really like the "quest for retards" comment that made me LOL.
MMO's do tend to be horribly overhyped and this leads to disappointment and apathy about the entire genre. I think the pushbutton gaming that started with EQ is way overdone and stale, and the newest games are addressing that fact. Both this and TR and looking to be MMO's that <gasp> have fun combat OMG!! Also with regards to buying a $3000 system to play.. you could always get a console and play once it is released, less than $1k there.
It honestly seems like MMO's are not for you, and that is fine and dandy. Go do whatever makes you happy, but there are millions of us that have been playing MMO's since 1998 and don't plan on stopping any time soon.
In the mean time keep up the funny ranting
