This is my dilema...

After playing Daoc and WoW for a couple years and just about every MMO out there I woke up one morning and said I had a enough.

This is my story...I go to college full time and I also work a part time job and MMo's were taking up too much of my time.  I noticed I started secluding myself away from my girlfriend and also not concentrating 100% on school.

So after many brooding "shots" of me sitting alone on a park bench watching the sunset,  I called up my best friend and said, You want my computer?.  He said, hell yeah and he was at my house in 5 min lol.  We agreed he would just hold onto it for the time being while I took a sabatical from the gaming world.

So its been a couple months since I have touched any MMo's.

Because I am so disappointed in the current games out there now I must say I don't think I am missing much.  I was hyped about Dark and Light years ago, I never subscribed to it, thank god, it was a scam, then came Vanguard, I bought the game and simply wasted my money and time with that, then I tried Lotr and it didn't strike me as anything new.  So I hung up my MMo hat and said never again.

Then I watched all the Warhammer online podcasts, read up on the classes and quests and PvP system and now I am so excited about it.  My first MMo was DAOC, so I am a PvPer at heart and this game is going to be right up my alley.  PvP that means something.

So to get to the title of my post....Once warhammer is released, my best friend can be expecting a phone call...

Heh might want to give him a call earlier to get him used to the idea that your going over there to take the computer. Just so he can look for another computer or tie up any  loose ends he might have in his games.

You should try EQ 2 and/or SWG.

I am especially pleased with SWG; it is the most amazing I have played.

I am following WAR's development, but I have a few concerns:  lack of PvE, too much PvP, the "WoW" feel, community, etc.

WoW and fast food = commercial successes.
I neither play WoW nor eat fast food.

Wow thats funny those are the least concerns of mine, little PvE, AWESOME, PvP out the wazoo? Sweet, if it feels as solid as WoW, even better. The community won't be that bad because all the kiddies will flock to Age of Conan because it has boobies and decapitations.

I'll flock to age of conan because it has boobs and decapitations too. But then come WAR I'll go play that.

Okay, call me an arsehole if you must, but....I missed the dilema part of this equation.

This situation calls for a judicious application of elemental psychology and extreme violence

I can see a big problem you have is the cost aspect- mmos are in essence designed to guzzle your money over time. this, however, could eventually disappear (pay to play, i mean), as free games are set to improve in the near future. Nothing amazing has come along- most are simply variations on the WOW formula, but companies like acclaim are producing free games funded by microtransactions and many others are following suit, with inherent quality gradually improving.

apart from that though, there have been no amazing revolutions to my mind; not yet anyway. MMORPGs have arely started and have a long long way to go to fill their awesome potential.

I wouldnt bother getting that computer back, by the time WAR comes out that computer would be outdated already so u might as well build a new one.

In AoC i will be afk in front of the High Priestess of Whatever Dark Cult, getting a drink, of course.

WAR promises to be worth a new com built.

It is a question of fangs.
