On test center currently is a fix to allow the Full trial to be enabled again so people can leave the station again:
Also, DevH was talking about having an option to not accept /tells from anyone on a trial unless you add them to your friendslist incase the credit spammers decide to start spamming that way.
Free Trial Accounts:
Removed Free Trial restrictions stopping players from leaving Tansarii
Removed Free Trial restrictions that caused Free Trials to warp back to Tansarii
Retained all old Free Trial restrictions and added a few more:Cannot Create PAs
Cannot Lead PA
Cannot Exceed level 25
Cannot use Ad Barker Droid
Cannot Place Structures
Cannot Have more than 50k Credits
Cannot Own Structures
Cannot Create Vendor
Cannot Use IncubatorChat:
Free trial accounts are limited to 400 characters of combined spatial and non-spatial chat every 15 minutes. /tell and group chat are excluded from this limit. This is a per character restriction. If you attempt to chat when you are past the limit, a system message will be periodically displayed telling you that you have reached the limit, and how long before you can chat again.

might wanna post on the correct board. Or name the game your referring to
Lol yep, wrong forum...I had two tabs open and put it into the wrong one Was meant for the SWG current forum, so if a kind admin could redirect this, that would be appreciated
I am excited about this change. Keep us updated. I really want to try the game out without being confined to the station. I'm interested in seeing how things are being updated.

I think it is for Star Wars Galaxies. I am playing right now on my PC; I am taking a break before I begin the Quest to learn to fly in space.
OMG! I LOVE THIS GAME! It is my favorite MMO out there and possibly my favorite MMO ever. It is a lot like the movies. You are like playing a game in the Star Wars movies. I am the star. It is amazing. You have to try this game.
I am playing a Medic on the Starsider server, this will be my main. If anyone wants to start out with me, let me know. Just msg me with your name here. I am having a complete and total blast; I have not played a game like this since I first played EQ 1. I am not sure about all servers, the Starsider server has a lot of new people running around.

WoW and fast food = commercial successes.
I neither play WoW nor eat fast food.
No need to move it out of this section, if you ask me. I'm sure more than just current SWG fan's might be interested to know of a full fledged free trial of an MMO.
Perception is Reality.
It's very "starwarsy" and "Iconic" with lots of "kill/loot/repeat" in it and SOE made certain there's as little reading in it as possible. Still I wonder why they brought bach Creature Handler .... sorry "Beast master" since Smed said it was the least popular and total "unstarwsy" and very "uniconic". Maybe Obraik knows the answer?
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

I remember last time I tried it... Started a Trader, pushed him up to 35-40ish, pulled in tons of material and made a few good extractors. with two days left, I made a new trial account, and a new Trader. Gave him access to my old house, he took over the extractors and the materials, pushed him up to lvl70 in Shipbuilding in two weeks with tons of materials and flew around in a pimped ship.. Great times.
I guess those days are over LOL

Changed it
Originally I didn't intend to post it in this forum, but I guess it might be more useful here...
I reactived my account, wanted to check out the new pet changes. All I saw was a few people playing pew pew pew with their jedi's and not much else. There is no community left, just a few scattered players.
Unless they merge the servers, I just see no future in this game. Too little to late.
I seriously doubt you played, theres always lots of people.
You probably just posted that to attract flames.
NO he posted that cuz it is probably true on HIS server. I created a new toon on Bria and one on Bloodfin cuz thats where everyone is. I plan on transfering my toon to one of those servers after server merge. My main is on Ahazi ATM, and yes it's DEAD there. Try Bria or Bloodfin my friend. I recommend Bria personally.
Ok, let me get this straight: they reactivate the trail as it was, but barely (read: don't) take care of credit sell spammers?
They are allowed to spam 400 characters every 15 minutes so they can still freely advertise. And if they dont want to hit the 400 witin 15 minutes they only have to adjust their macro a bit.
Yeah great fix... might as well restrict the trail again cause this doesn't change anything..
400 characters isn't that much either, 2 or 3 runs of their macro and they'd be capped.
Starsider, Bria, Bloodfin, and Ahazi, I believe are the more highly populated servers. I play on starsider and it has a good space and role play population. Man we need a guild recruitment section.
Any word on the exact date that the trial will allow users off the ship?

What they COULD do about gold sellers, but won't, is post a live CSR there in Mos Eisley and boot the sellers the instant they start barking.
But they'd never do that, because it's too labor intensive on one set of books. Instead, we'll have devs devote hours of coding and testing time to finding an automated "solution" that will have a loophole that will be exploited by the gold sellers.
These guys NEVER learn.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

I'm sure they've discovered that there wouldn't be enough CSR that could moniter the game 24/7 on all star-ports, Which is why they have come up with a permanent solution.
Rather than wasting valuable CSR's that could be answered questions and helping the new players
Umm no, there really isn't many people at all.

The only starport worth barking at is Mos Eisley, on any server. There are no other starports with any sort of serious foot traffic in the NGE era.
One starport on each server. It's the obvious, easiest solution. But SOE has this policy of not using live GM/CSRs do fix things, or to responding in a timely fashion to complaints about gold sellers.

Which once again proves you have not played,
This is your forum, me ol' hater.

Actually, my observations are based on playing last month.
Mos Eisley is where the barkers are, because Mos Eisley is the only consistently populated city in the game. The barkers are not going to waste their time in Coronet or Theed. Perhaps Restuss, but you won't find lots of noobies there.
Mind you, I played on Ahazi, one of the more populated servers.

I play on europe chimera and bria, not sure the population in aspect to ahzi, but theres always people at naboo starports aswell as coronet, and mos eisley.
It's a question of density at the starports. Coronet and Theed are pretty much deserted compared to Mos Eisley. 5 players in Coronet vs 20 in Mos Eisley is a huge difference.
But, if there are barkers in Coronet or Theed, well, it's not that tough for the "on duty" CSR to zap him or her self to the places were there is foot traffic. Very easy in fact. I'd say that a once every hour patrol would do the trick, and would consume about 5 minutes tops of the CSR's time.
This problem could have been dealt with manually, but SOE will ALWAYS choose a group punishment method over going after individuals.

I think having 26 CSR's guarding the Eisley starports across all servers is a tad excessive when a bit of time can be spent to make some code that hinders their spamming in a way that makes it not worth the effort. There would likely be a dramatic increase in ticket answer time if they were to do that.
