Currently everyone in NGE-StarWars Galaxies is running arround in a full set of mandalorian armor with Jetpacks as vehicle.

In the bazar terminal items cost millions of dollars.

Well how can I say, the economy in this game is really messed up. I'm not sure how "new players" are supposed to keep up with the millioners in this game.

And I dont know how someone can have fun in a game with such a economic, so even if they re-introduce some pre-cu elements, would you guys really consider coming back to the game, with the terrible economic in your head ?

Full set of mando is rare, get your facts straight please.

With a game thats 4 years old the economic advance of some elements can be expected.

so you basicly say that there is no inflation problem with this game ?

how is a newbie bounty hunter supposed to keep up with someone else, when the nessesary weapon he needs costs 8 - 12 million credits?

The most fun I ever had in SWG was being a poor newb. It gave me a goal.  I had to run missions to get credits so I could just buy a backpack.  Then when I puchased my first crate of brandy I was happy too.  :)  Took all my funds.  :)

Now, my character has tons of weapons(most useless) clothing and robes out the boot.  Packs of useless food and drink.  Over 40 million in the bank and I'm level 90.  /shrug.  No friends left in the game.  No places left ot explore.  No professions for me to explore.  Boring!

I think they might get some sort of influx of players if there were fresh servers(even with the POS NGE) but as it is now there is no point starting a crafter toon on a new server.  Just too hard to compete with established people.  Especially since most crafted gear is crap.

And I'm poor by Starsiders standards...lol.

Sounds like a case of burn out, if you play too much the game gets old a boring, I'm having great fun and i play around 2 hours a day.

    /sarcasm

It's just a slight exaggeration to say that everyone is wearing Mando armor or flying around on jet packs.

OK, take off the sarcasm tag now

But inflation is a real problem in the SWG economies.

For one thing, new players who run the Legacy quest series WILL be millionaires off of the quest rewards in credits, quest rewards in equipment sold to junk dealers, and the loot of all the mobs you have to kill to advance through the Legacy quests.  I've taken two new toons through the Legacy quests, and both hit a million credits by the tiime they were to level 30.

Furthermore, the new loot-centric play of SWG since the NGE has resulted in a greater number of credits coming into the economy than even during the heyday of the "solo group".

I wasn't even trying to accumulate more credits during my vet trial, but I managed to add 2 million more credits to my main toon's bank account playing him off and on over a three week period.  Mostly just doing the new GCW PvE content, flipping bases.

As for resources, I harvested good amounts of hide and sold them for 1 credit a unit, regardless of quality, and was doing brisk business there.

I wasn't even trying to make money the old fashioned way with a heavy mineral harvester or four parked on a nice spawn of some variety of iron or steel or whatever.

The new BM support equipment is quite expensive and crafters are selling them even at what I consider to be outlandish prices.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Regardless the game is old and dated...and it has jaded its player base....so on and so forth...i do miss it tho

Guess that's how the "gold farmers" are making their business.  Kinda wondered considering how easy it was to make money in CU/NGE.  But how did it get to this point?  Removing decay, removing the need to purchase crafted items, increasing the pay on missions (remember when the creds from a mission were divided amongst the group versus CU when every member of the group got paid the list price?), removing the necessity to pay maintenance in order to keep property from going "poof," removing the need to use shuttles....

Would I want to come back if pre-CU were implemented?  Not that I believe it's ever going to happen but while other people want either rollback,  the ability to transfer characters, or "mirrored servers,"  I would want it to start as an offer of totally empty classic servers with no character transfers allowed. Why?

    1. allowing character transfers would mean starting off with an economy screwed up by CU/NGE

    2. transferring characters would be a mess as it would require translating a CU/NGE character back to pre-CU standards; it might sound like a simple reversal of levels equaling skill points spent but how would item stats switch over depending on when the person had aquired the item and how would they fairly determine where someone was in the quest to be jedi (not all elders were master jedi, some had just unlocked and others had mastered plus people without the elder label were at various stages...honestly, the only difference between those with "elder" label and those without could be as small as not having been able to do Mel quest before the NGE bomb hit)

Only exception I can see to this:

-- for people who go to classic servers, roll back Vet rewards; people should be able to have vet rewards on the classic server

--allow for item transfers for items that are no longer in game (item would be removed from character originally having it and put in database of toon on classic server; players would need to put in a request for item transfers; # of any single type of item requested would match the max person had on any 1 toon outside classic server -- ex. if person had 3 toons on other servers that each had 1 NS armband, only 1 would be transferable but if person had 1 on two of the toons and 2 on one of the toons then the person would be able to transfer 2-- mainly to keep people from stacking all kinds of stuff on a classic server toon to gain an economic advantage; at this point most of the stuff that can no longer be aquired in-game is probably just decoration as, if people used it, it is probably decayed beyond use)

-- only way I can see having character transfers is if all the data has been saved on characters as they existed pre-cu and toons would transfer over as they were when the server shut down before CU was implemented

Just for sake of argument since PreCU will never return I have to say this:

I just see no way for them to actually bring back any data from PreCU with everyones data and what not.  Its just not feasible.  Its like thinking they have a timeline of events, levels and equipment for every player since the games launch.  It would take alot of storage space.  At most they might have some snapshot moments for characters taken twice a year.  Otherwise character data would get overwritten constantly.

IF they did it...which is to say never.. they would have to have fresh clean servers.  Give people their vet rewards and all that.  Thing is that if you pull out that Barc you better be sure your in a safe area.   Its would be months and months before you could get a restore kit...lol.  For the most part the rest is decoration and all that crap.  Only a few useful items to really help out a newbie player.  Best thing out there the ship you get.  Just for maintenance free storage(shouldnt their be maintenance on ships?  Like the yacht?) beyond the 80 inventory packs and 100 item bank slots.

Fresh PreCu servers would be so freaking awesome.  /sigh Sadly it will never happen.  :(

Never say never.. One day someone will have to take the spot of the people running the game now... we can hope that they will look back at past sales and data and see the pre-cu and heck even the CU had WAY more many players on it than the NGE.. Someone told me they are going to merg severs.. THis is never good when a mmo who had to had like 15 sever to hold th epopulation atbay from lag and over palcement of houseing ect.. Now has to merg to keep the population up on one sever. We can only pray! or if you dont believe in god.. just hope they do it out of the kindness of their heart. Hell I'd even pay more I'd pay 20 buks a month they brought old game back it was just that good!! =)

In the bazar terminal items cost millions of dollars. True but it makes one hell of a great market as those Elitist don't stand it when you put items on bazaar lower then there current prices and most of them buy those lower priced items from the bazaar to place it again for a higher place...MAN THE MARKET IS ACTUALY AWESOME if you know how to play it
Well how can I say, the economy in this game is really messed up. I'm not sure how "new players" are supposed to keep up with the millioners in this game. Thats what i thought the first time i returned but then i got back into my old mmorpg role and figured the market out (knowing how to prepare oneself) to come to the conclusion its NEWB heaven compared to pre-cu SWG, but like i said some just can not stand seeing lower prices then they put them on, good for business
And I dont know how someone can have fun in a game with such a economic, so even if they re-introduce some pre-cu elements, would you guys really consider coming back to the game, with the terrible economic in your head ? If you good at planning/orginazing its truly a good market, if you bad at any of those 2 then yeah it might be very difficult to play the market sorry to say. Oh and most importantly PATIENTS

The reason its newb heaven Recklaw is because 90% of the playerbase are 12 year old kids who probably don't even know what a business is, they only know how to spam 2 buttons.

It is not rare, you should know that if you play on Bria or Bloodfin.  The economy is shot because there is no population, there is no decay, everything is instanced loot drops, and there are no need from doc buffs...

If the NGE didn't SUCK SO BAD then there would be a steady influx of players to keep the lower level economy fresh.  The fact that the game is 4 years old has NOTHING to do with the economy.  Get your facts straight please.

The fact is this game is so feeble now smart players that truly made the economy run smoothly i.e. your master crafters and doctors, are off playing games that function properly.  You NGE fanbois truly just don't get it.  But the other 99.9999999% of the gaming world does...
