I am constantly interacting in SWG; it is one of the reasons why I love the game. I am constantly meeting new people and going aboard vessels and visiting homes and things. The cantina feel and environment is awesome.
IDON O T need to LFG or LFM to "interact" with people; that is forcing me to interact to experience content! Many people cherish and enjoy interaction that does NOT involve forced-grouping. It is forcing people whom would prefer to solo to now have to group with people that they do not want to. Besides, most people are level 90 and I heard that the mentor system only works or only works well within 10 levels! So, what about all these NEW Players now forced to LFG and LFM to level-up and experience content? There are simply not enough people to group with.
I really loved this game, and I still do. Based on what I heard here and in-game, I will be wasting my time trying to level up. I refuse, totally refuse, to log into any game and "LFG" and "LFM" to play that game I pay for.
----- WoW and fast food = commercial successes. I neither play WoW nor eat fast food.
Well, maybe it was designed to attract veteran SWG players. However, it does so by discouraging NEW Players to the game.
Doubtful. Most veteran SWG players swore off SOE post-NGE. This is really just devs still trying to make a generic MMO out of the former sandbox game.
Doubtful but its true. I don't think they would do all this and recycle old content just for new players. They definitely changed target in the hope that vets would pick up again. So far its seems to been happening quite a bit, but i doubt the game can hold their interest long as its all ''been here and done that'' plus many old friends are still gone. If SOE doesnt come with a sh!tload of content in either a huge 'Chapter' or expansion, i doubt they'll stay much longer
so far all hope is set on Chapter 8.. but that won't be here until next year...
Funny to see all the opinions from old vets that haven't played the game in years but can't get over their "hurt" .
Opinions from people that really don't know what's going on in-game are worth exactly zero.....
From an actual players viewepoint, Chap six didn't make that much of an overall change in your ability to solo, it did however force a change in tactics, so players that didn't adapt could encounter some problems. Easy to fix though.
If you like to solo in an MMORPG, why the hell would you play one? Commonly MMO doesn't not just mean multiple people playing at the same time doing solo content. If you wanted to do that in a Star Wars themed game you should try the Battlefront games. If you want to be an uber Jedi and run around killing mobs without thinking you should try Jedi Knight II (also has online play). If you like RPGs you should try KOTOR. Currently all 3 are out for Xbox and are still fun.
Try talking to people more often. They can teach you a thing or two. Don't be afraid of letting someone show you how to do something or help you out in a tough situation. There is time for grouping and time for soloing. With all the current content in SWG there is no reason why you can't lvl up without a group. I solo quite often myself on high lvl mobs. Guess what? sometimes I die. But I go back and give them an asswoopin once I plan things out better. Strategy is a good thing but takes some time to master. The only things you should be wary of is high lvl elite mobs, and I haven't seen many of those in mission content but it does exist. Especially when you hit high lvl's with your toon.

<Mod edit> Chapter six did make a change, Hell, before you could solo Sher Karr with no sweat! no way thats possible now, a group with medic is the only way to make it past. So its not only tactics, you need groups!

I love soloing in MMORPGs.
You see if I play a single player game, even a well crafted one, like KOTOR or Oblivion, I will eventually win (solo). In a 'properly crafted' MMORPG, I will never 'finish' the game because there will always be some mob thats going to eat me no matter how well I play, or how well I am equipped.

There is still possible to solo at least up until lvl23
So you can basically only solo to 23 at best?
Dont know at the moment. Be back on that when I reach lvl24.
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
