Even though it sounds very very tempting I dont know if I really would, I would like to leave SWG as a great memory and experience, it was also my first MMORPG ever and I dont know how I would feel getting back into it and not being around all the people that I played with and made me the player that I was.

No, the magic is gone and even if they did roll back the servers the same bugs would exist there as they did back then. Let the game die already please.
Is a roll back/pre NGE servers enough? A lot of vets say they'll play if this happens but think about it, will SOE devote any developers to create content for pre-NGE servers? I doubt they will, and if they don't, how much fun do you think Galaxies can actually be? All the flaws, all the bugs, all the lack of content that existed in the original game (and there were many, let's be honest) will resurface.
One of the SWG developers said in a post about rolling back servers said that nostalgia has a tendency to sweeten our memories. I really believe there's a lot of truth in that statement that people are ignoring.
So how about another question: Is a rollback/Pre-NGE servers enough, or will SOE have to devote developers to pre-NGE Galaxies?
Yes, I would. I think a Pre-CU server is a better option....some people like NGE. so let em have it. Others want it back teh way it was...i am sure they have a Pre-CU build of the Server side in storage somewhere, just throw it up on a server and see how many people show up to play it. If you don't get a bunch of new subs to make it worthwhile, well it was just a relaunch of a server client you already had, so no worries.

1st of all most of you who are extremly bitter over the whole SWG fiasco have said things like:"Ill never play another game made/published by SOE".
Do you mean to tell me that if SOE "rolled back the servers" you would go play and give them money?
Is this the exception to the rule?
I just want this clarified.Would ALL other games made by or published by SOE be off limits?
Because ive a feeling if they did it would be a huge hit.But why id this even a question? After all the over the top conspiracies and multiple page flames about how bad they are.
Yeah i know you would NEVER even give it a thought would you.If SWG rolled back you guys wouldnt care would ya?
If it was the original SWG, without the bugs of course, and the servers had the population that they had then... actually if it was anything like my server, Radiant, was when the game first came out and the months that followed, I'd play again in a heartbeat.
I picked up SWG the first day it came out, I remember it well because both my best friend and I went to gamestop to buy it. My best friend stopped playing about a month later but I kept on going. For me, at first, it all was about mastering bounty hunter. Going Through Marksman and Scout then the 40k of combat experience only to be rewarded with a hapless investigation tree lol. All in all, pre cu and despite all its bugs and short comings (no space expansion then), I got more than I bargained for. I was able to experience the best MMO Community I have and will ever experience. For about two years I got to meet some of the nicest people from across the globe, played on a great server (bria), and was able to be a part of a great guild SiS. However, those days are long gone.
Most of my friends from back then do not play this game anymore and probably never will even if SOE would provide pre cu servers, which seems not likely at all. Some of them left for WoW as I did when the CU came out and never looked back. No, I like to remember SWG for what it was back some years ago, a great game where players made their own content, and had their own economy. I play WoW now, ever so often when a few of us vets run into each other albeit running an instance or on ts or vent, we talk about the good ole days in SWG, but those days are gone, even if they would bring back the pre cu it simply would not be the same.
A year ago i would have shouted 'Yes!' to this question. But a year later from that point and i'm not so sure i would. Don't get me wrong, i loved that game with a passion and it will always have a spot in my gamer's heart as one of the best MMOs of it's time.. but thats just it... SWG's time is over and its about time to give up the ghost.
That yearning and hole sitting in my game-sense we'll call it is starting to move on and tie up loose ends. I still help with the ANHEMU and want to try and help getting that ready to go to the very end.. but primarily only so i can say i did it.
But i think i know what finally got me over SWG.. so heres a small story for you..
When Star Wars Galaxies came out, i scuddled together as much cash as i possibly could and even borrowed a few bucks to make ends meet, just so i could grab the origional edition.. and it hurt knowing that i couldn't afford, never the less find an available Collectors edition of SWG. But i still had the game.
I went home that day and for three years after that day i came home after work and school to play Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided. Never knowing what life would have been like with those special little goggles in-game.
Almost five years later (give or take) I walked my way into gamestop looking for a new game to play, while looking around the PC game shelves i noticed a large black box.. which caught my eye immediately.. i walked over and my god.. low and behold it was the Star Wars Galaxies Collectors edition! Dear god! A friend of mine hadn't the slightest clue why i was so excited and amazed. I told her they didn't make this any more.. they haven't for about four and a half years.. and they never will. Its an era in gaming history lost to the online websites and old auctions never deleted.
I brought it up to the front desk and asked why they still had this. Heres what i found out;
It was a mint-condition SWG Collectors Edition box. Everything was inside and it had been opened probably only once or twice. They had found it in the back where an employee had stashed it away when it first came out behind some cabinets. They believe he got fired or just forgot about it the next day and they hadn't found it until the day before. Because they hadn't seen it in forever and no one had bought the current SWG boxes to much of anything.. it was priced down to 15 bucks.
I snatched it up. I bought it and brought it home. Opened up the box and drooled over the artwork book, aluminum action figure, SWG patch and pin... the velvetc-covered plastic.. ooh so fancy... and then i closed the box and set it on my shelf of memories. There it will sit until i deem otherwise..
My SWG journey is complete. I wanted my Collectors edition, and now i have it. The origional SWG CD.. never before touched aside from my hands and the manufacturers.. never corrupted by the new development teams.
So nope.. i won't go back... i've come full circle and the demon inside me as been subdued.

Instantly !!
I don't think a rollback is such a good idea though.. rather classic pre-cu servers maybe?

lol christ, do you guys ever discuss a different topic? Its over and done, stop beating the horse, its dead.
I strongly agree. Well said.
According to our gaming group it would be about six of us willing to return to Pre-NGE.
I would come back, if they would give me a free cookie
"You must be either retarded or a fanboi..."
No, Pre-CU was horrific.

And WoW is original.
The only way I'd go back would be on a fresh brand new server with the CURB loaded up.
Classic SWG > CUNGE
Just stop already it is a bit pathetic.

What is your physical limit?
It would have to be classic, rollback is too late. But classic servers are possible.
