Worth it?

phradenphraden Member Posts: 28

I'm kinda bored lately... done with WoW... (sold all my stuff). LoTR looks like crap (imo), AoC, Gods and Heroes, and WAR isn't out yet... would this be worth it to pay for a couple months until something better comes out? Or should I just look elsewhere?

Was hoping Ic ould get someone to kinda breakdown gameplay... partying, raiding?, etc... if any of those apply and how they play out.

Here is my review i gave, it says a lot of truth, if ur intentions are to only play 3 months go for it, but dont expect this game to be updated with content any time soon. It was a great game and in essence still is, but i see fairly dark clouds above his future
Game is ok, but pretty stagnant for almost more then a year now. If u start playing dont expect major content updates any time soon, they been promosing it for more then a year now and nothing happend still till this date. Community isnt _that_ good, most will help a noob but dont say anything against most people believes, critism on how things are handled in this game wont be taken lightly by the old folks, tho some newbs have interesting points of view they mostly get flamed by trolls on their forums. Roleplay isnt really happening, u really need to search for it. If you are willing to cough up the 15$ a month for a game thats pretty stagnant for more then a year and wont be changing that any time soon, be my guest, Ryzom offers a great world, but dont rush it or u will get bored of it pretty soon. I played this game for over 7 months.
Definitely worth playing for a couple of months, simply to see the game world, Atys, which still stands out from the crowd as something very special.

Gameplay is up to you - it's a sandbox game so you do what you want to.

If it is worth it or not comes down to your taste in MMOs. It does somethings very well but also has it's flaws but if those are good or bad again goes back to your taste. If your into crafting it has an excellent deep crafting system. I would say you need to be into PvPer and player faction polotics or have a good tolerence for ignoring the drama that both those create. Also I think you need to be good at setting your own goals and creating your own fun without the game leading you or else it decends into a bad grind. All things that are good or bad depending on your tastes. Oh it's also got a fairly strong roleplaying community too I think.
