I know the real info isn't out until the August issue of InQuest, but I was thinking about them. Wouldn't it be cool if you could buy base level mounts or expensive, fully trained mounts, and if you chose the base one you would have to train it all the way up to the level of the other. Besides having them run fast you could also try and keep them groomed, or buy sadles or armor for the,m to make them eye candy, etc. Along with this you could have racing mini-games where people could compete, watch or wager on them. Just thoughts for the end-game and also money-sinks on upkeep of them. What are your thoughts on this?

Sounds cool! They already stated there would be arenas in both Qeynos and Freeport. I don't suppose perhaps people can race their mounts around a track (try to avoid obstacles maybe) and the people who watch can bet money?
Anyways, i'm phsyced to see what the 2 other mounts are in the game.

Not really into 'my little pony' so I don't want to groom or play with my mount.
But I wouldn't mind a base type model that can get upgrades, ect..

I personally hate horses. This partially stems from the fact that I was bucked off one when I was four years old and landed completely upside down on my head.
That put me on this big path of hating horses, cowboys, boots, cowboy hats, and the whole country western theme. Which further pushed me into Alternative, Heavy Metal, and Hip-Hop Culture! YEah maN! 
But There's gotta be some other mounts like them lizard things, those were pretty damn kool. I'd like to have a big wolf or Tiger or something kewl like a Saber Tooth maybe. Maybe a undead horse would be kool. There should be a zone you can go into where you can try to catch one and then have to break it in at a stable in the city or something like that. Hmmm.
InQuest is supposed to detail 2 new types of mounts. What that means though one could only guess but I would think something along the lines of lizards, tigers, wolves, etc.
Very good system used in FF7 and definitely kept the gamers playing until the end. I had the entire ranch filled with gold Chocobos by the time I finished the game. Trust me, it was hard but well worth it when you raced them. A lot of rare items and such were won, and a few of them were needed to defeat the "Ultima's" "Rubys" and the like.
Great plot, Great story, awesome end game content and so much more was invovled in that game. I hope that other games/mmorps pick up on the fact that MINI-Games are in some cases HIGH END CONTENT (except when you think of Zelda/FF10)
Racing - Carpentry - Crafting - Swimming (races) - Breeding (animals) - Cooking - Engineering - Smithing - Chemicals - Treasure Hunt - Egg Chase (For mounts?)
Just some ideas that could be incorperated as decent content.

Well its hard not to agree... more mini-games = more content = more fun.
I personally would love to see GAMBLING! (of any sort.. ya im addicted to texas hold 'em too)
KillerTwinkie please add this to your compilation. I'm sure that all it takes to get this into eq2 is a quick e-mail from you to the devs at SOE right?

Perhaps they will add a flying mount via Lineage 2. Wouldn't have to be a dragon mind you, could be a large bird of pray or a dragonfly or somthing along that line ^^
