I killed some boars. Then I killed some bears. And then I killed some boars again. And then I killed some wargs. And then I needed to kill some boars again. And then I killed some orcs! And then I killed some wargs. And more wargs. And more wargs, oops wrong wargs. And then I killed some spiders! *whew* And look, more boars! And now I'm level 40.
Although there are some features in LOTRO I really like, the story epic sequences and landscapes.. the game doesn't thrill me.
I need to feel danger. I need to feel like if I die, I'm really screwed. I need to depend on my group as my life is in their hands, and their life is in mine.
I need to be in Guk again.

you described LOTRO no doubt...
As it is now, i feel that Turbine has sold the world of middle earth very short. It's just feels to me that the games scope is very limited by comparison to the source material. Perhaps that is why people are getting burned out on it in record time. I'm sure the casual gamer loves it, as they can maybe play an hour a day. For that kind of gamer, I expect this game is right on.
Listen
I AM a casual gamer, i have a lot of work to do IRL, etc
Can't play more than few hours a week and sometimes can't play for 1 month...
But lotro isn't for me: too easy; no challenge, no fun, too linear, you can only make quests and quests and quests again and that's all.
Think about REAL Lord of the Ring i mean Books + Ralph Bakshi's movie : epic, nice, beautiful, adventures etc.
Lotro: you'll have to talk to 2 hobbits in Staddle then you'll have an item, you'll have to kill 10 boars then 6 bears for a hobbit girl, you'll have to kill 4 crebans for a ranger then 5 other crebans for a women in Lone Lands, kill 12 spiders next ost guruth etc.
What's that ?
do you REALLY think we're talking about Lord of The Rings ???? no we aren't
We are talking about a MMO CALLED lord of the rings that's different...
can you imagine in Tolkien's lore, an elf going to Thorin's place and helping the dwarves ?
Or a dwarf buying weapons to an Elf on Rivendell
I SAY LOL
And if you can find on tolkien's books something like Chicken Play please tell me, give me the chapter ! Waiting for it or something like BOARS ATTACKS please tell me !!!!
Lotro isn't Lotro
Lotro is AC3.
But THANKS to Peter Jackson, everyone in the world knows Lord of The Ring.

you learn to dodge those quests after a while. i personally ditch 80% of the quests i find and just go out, explore, slay and mobs i find and continue on my way. half the quests in ANY game suck anyway
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds -Solid non level based game -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Yah yah, I killed Hobbits, then I killed Elfs, then Hobbits again, then Dwarfs, then more Hobbits, then a few Humans... I know. Quite troublesome. ^^
<<----- Spider player ^^
