Nihilum. basically there are a few * bad guys* left in the game and nihilum kills every single one the day the dungeon gets launched so in my opinion your wasting your time continuing to play, it has no sense, also i have high hopes blizzard will get some weird miracle , for example: Illidan rises from the dead or something to keep us playing i can promise you this in 1 year there will barely be anyone playing but the asian's. People want to explore the instances, after you explore the whole high end instance , what to do now? pvp ? thats the only thing you got, its just boring to repeat an instance over and over again entering Black temple for me the 1st time was wow now its boring. just my thought i know people are against it some are with it. just want y'all to read it, thanks

thats why they released outlands, its got portals to new worlds with new bosses, baddies, creatures, and everything
and ya nihilum deffinetly didnt kill him the day it came out
If you have been playing world of war craft for a long time like myself then you would be crazy to not think that new content patches will continue to come out. There is already about 15 instances in the game that don't exist yet some 10 mans some 25 mans some 5 mans etc. Blizz has done a great job at continuing to add new content patches to keep everyone playing and I don't see that trend stopping any time soon
dude. in the warcraft lore illidan is merely close to being the last boss in warcraft i forgot the other 4-5 names but those 4-5 guys are the final bosses . now tell me what will they do after nihilum just kills all those 4-5 bosses? nothing just pvp and think of a new game.
25 people kill a boss before me, oh noes now theres no reason to play o 0
most people actually play the game to enjoy it not to brag i have the first kills, loot whatever.
Do you buy a game thats been out for 1 month and go, OMFG UZ COMPLETED THAT QUEST ALREADY WTF THIS GAME SUX ?
Bosses respawn, and the wow lore is seperate from warcraft lore from what i hear. and even then, its fantasy not fact, they could have pink bunnies with laser guns and it would still be true to their lore, since they made it up in the first place...
And i seriously doubt 1 guild full of no lifers is going to kill wow, what will/has killed wow is the devs listening to whiners. Its why we have over powered classes, raiding content galore, when most prefer casual 5 mans, Its why classes are now broke, or nerfed to the point of uselessness.
Its also why they have some delusion that the arena pvp is the best idea since sliced bread in a game where only 5 classes can compete in the arena effectivly, and the other 4 have to get stuffed because they are good in other aspects of the game that make no difference in the end...
LOL, er, LAWLS, ur funy...
Kidding aside, they said that from day one.
Be real, it will be around 8 years from now, and probably with as many players. Look at UO, if it doesn't creep you out, nothing will. It's like the dirty old man in the neighborhood that waves to all the kiddies. WoW is Popular. It's have to get pretty haggard and old before people stop trying to cop a feel.
Will better games come out? sure. heck, they may even BE out already.
Will people leave? sure. but people are still flocking to it, more and more onliners every day.
Will the farmers own it? sure. they own every game, fact of life, get over it.
I'm guessing you are referring to the guild named Nihilum (Magtheridon - EU)? I feel pretty confident saying that 95% of World of Warcraft's players will NOT consider it as "game over" once Nihilum has killed every possible boss. There aren't that many hardcore guilds on each server, only 2-3 stand out usually, whose goal is to be the next ones to accomplish what the "elite" guilds have already done. That said, there will always be followers who keep the whole thing alive. Besides, most players play online games to socialize and couldn't care less for what "the big boys" are up to. So, until something new and exciting comes along Blizzard will manage just fine.
the point is after YOU complete all the instances like BT now is the last one until a new patch comes out with a new dungeon, you like basically finished the game after the whole new patches come and u visit them all. unless u wanna spend the rest of ur life getting t7 or t8 by than.
agin, LAWLS, ur funy
lol your insane man. Just because 1 guild beats the hardest current content doesn't mean the game ends. For starters you yourself have not beaten that content have you? and the guild that is killing him will continue and why you ask? Cause they are the top guild in the bloody world and will want to continue to hold / milk that for all its worth. Not to mention blizz has more xpacs slated for the game etc to think the game is going to die cause 1 guild out of the 9 million registered players is going to kill the hardest current content.
I personally don't raid I find no fun in scripted PVE encounters. Feels more like a dance than a fight you just fulfill your role. I just PvP and I got gladiator last season does that mean game is over for me? Hell no I still love wow PvP and want the new gear and to finish least top5 in my battle group.
i didn't mention that , that guild will end WoW lol, i mean once Nihilum finish the game basically, us in our guilds PvE'ers will raid of course but like when we raid and than 1 year later YOUR guild completes the last instance in WoW, what do you expect to do next? Re do the instance which is boring or pvp or grind your butt off
p.s: i have great respect for WoW pvp i love it myself im talking about pve
I do know what you mean with repeating PVE instances pre burning crusade I did my fair share of 40 man raiding had my full tier 2 / 2.5 etc and did eventually quit the game from boredom only to return for the expansion pack / arena. I'm sure if your guild completes the final instance you will farm it for a while for gear etc but yes eventually you will get bored but I'm sure blizzard will have new instances before you have them all on farm.
If it wasn't for the arena system I wouldn't be playing world of war craft at all, I hate instances pve. the odd 5 man can be fun or even a good 10 man but for the real raids like ssc / temp keep / bt etc I just cant handle it.
I don't understand the point of this discussion.
First, WoW isn't going to "end." They have 8.5 million subscribers, and I assure you, most of those have not experienced all of the content in the game. Not to mention there are many who don't mind repeating some of it.
More important, yes, by all means, if you've done all there is to do in the game, it's time to move on. It is only natural. It is the way games work. You play it, you see all it has to offer, you stop playing it. There is no need to be dramatic about it or announce it to the world. Announce it to your in-game friends, certainly. But to declare that a game is "over" because you yourself have grown bored with it is solipsistic in the extreme.
In other words, get over yourself.
This doesn't make any sense. One year from now Blizzard will have spewed out several more patches and/or expansion packs for World of Warcraft. Yes, Starcraft 2 will probably be a huge hit, but it can't be compared to the success that World of Warcraft has had so far. Therefore it will still be in best interest for Blizzard to keep their biggest hit as "fresh" as possible until they come up with their next "money-making-machine".
yes yes, he is riiiight. Infact when the big guild will beat onyxia, we all go home...
Oh hey! wait a sec! somebody already beat onyxia... several time.... and naxx.... and now outlands..
Look, I'm not a raider type myself, but the game has been out 2 years now and guess what? the same exact scenario you evidenced has happened before. all the big baddies dead and what now?
As for enemies, well, emerald dream is gonna be next and I'm pretty sure blizzard will invent loads of new villains for its game... or did you knew who the heck was Hakkar before wow?
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
There's at least 3 posts a day about how WoW is about to die. So a lot of people think it's going to die, but they keep playing. So it seems to me even the naysayers can't seem to take their hands off of it so what about people who don't think too far into the future for it to matter at all
Play the game, enjoy it, who cares if in a few months no ones playing. Sounds like your playing the game just to have other people around for you to show off your new cool stuff. If you want competition go outside and play some sports it's healthier for you and your not a jack ass for getting into arguments online
edit:i completely agree with hexxeity, but i think they way you put it kind of forces me to say to you also... Get over yourself.
You do realize this is not just RPG make over of WC3? Lore goes on, new "Illidian" will come and go, that's life. Universe is still full of bad guys to slay and how hard is it to make new legion etc?
Oh and please stop with all the "OH NOZ IT WILL DIE", "X GAME WILL KILL IT!" ... Ever since WoW came out people are saying "just a bit of fun before next best thing" ... Right. If SWG is still going after NGE hit, there is no chance on earth WoW will ever die. No way, get over it. And if AoC comes out tomorrow, Blizz will hit us with new expansion today.
I do agree on a few of your points spaz but overall I feel you are being a bit too general and pushing everyone who plays WoW into the hardcore raider category. The vast majority of WoW population still haven't even touched the real difficult raiding. If one guild decides it wants to dedicate themselves to blowing through content, and if they are TRULY enjoying it that way, let them do it. Most of us will never touch the raid content, be it time constraints or just lack of interest. You can say the same thing about most of the MMO games that have been released.
It would be a miracle the day everyone finally realizes what a waste of time WoW is and how it's actually not that good of an MMORPG.
But alas, ignorance is bliss.
