This game is going to flop.
nothing promised will be in at launch.
People will have hardcore war for a month and get board.
no one will know what warhammer is.
this is based off nothign besides ever mmo launched in the last 2 years.
im going to save it will sell about 60k copies on its first day. Lose half of them on the second because it nothing like promised.
maybe reach50k total players in a year after launch.
the magic 200k number will fall to nothing once most of them play the beta.
im going to save this so in 2 years i can post a link to it. You people need to learn to not buy unfinshed games. and you need to start requesting refunds if the game isnt as promised. This will help us one day get a good game.

Another AoC fanboy who is stumped that WAR has a higher hype. Thanks for your opinion but really... NO ONE CARES!!!
Exactly, if you dont like the game why are you posting about it? I dont understand what anyone can say about a game that isnt out yet let alone is a large fanchise of a game to begin with.
Warhammer is obviously bigger then YOU think it is and i garuntee it will prolly have MORE people signing up to it on its first release then WoW for the fact that its something new and it has a bigger FAN base. Hell where do you think all the WoW fanboys that quit are going to next? They sure arent going to AOC.
If you are reading this.... you suck!
There has been no indication that Mythic will be delivering anything but a finished game, early reports from Game-Days seem quite positive.

There is no way you're 25, maybe 15.. but definately not 25. Your grammar and english as well as the ability to type simple words really indicates and gives evidence to my thoughts on the matter. That and you're talking rot
The "board" rather than bored, did help seal it though thanks for the giggle, you need to work on your past and present tenses too.
I remember back when EQ2 and WoW were still being developed.
The EQ2 fans would day after day come into the WoW boards saying how WoW wouldn't last 3 months and was going to die a miserable failure, and EQ2 would rise to become the top mmorpg of the next 5 years. They even made posts a lot like this one, that they were going to bump when it came true.
then the games released, and I never heard from them again
but it is funny to see history repeat itself
HAHAHA i remeber those days where the EQ fanboys did that crap on WoWs forums -_- instant ban for forum trolling FTW!
If you are reading this.... you suck!
really noone cares about your opinion AoC banboi
FER GORK 'N' MORK! WAAAGH
Personnally I predict around 1 million subscribtions UNLESS they manage to figure how to appeal to PvEers...in which case it would replace WoW on the throne. I don't think it will happen...but...it is not impossible.
PvE has no focus, no goal, no reason, no soul. The game would still be quite successfull, but it could be a LOT more. Yeah, the PvE "village idiot"* or PvPers will enjoy the PvE in WAR...but you would need more then that to appeal to real PvE players.
*Just like the guy who solo in EQ and loves it, or the guy who PvP in EQ and loves it...
PS: Imperator devs with some freedom to make a specific server rule for PvE could do that IMO. But...hehe, who am I to say that to mighty devs who STFU from the Imperator devs and get them in line...oh yeah...I am a fan and I have impunity of free speech!

Tell me, why, oh why is it that some random dude pops up with his gut feeling, and bad grammar, and the instant he describes his dislike of this game, he is called an AoC fanboy? Can you stop this childish opposition between these tow titles, AoC and WAR? Pisses me off already, just cause we are looking in to playing a game based on barbarians, we are not savages!
And about the OP, he made a few similar prognoses about VG, they turned out to be true, but his driving force is not wisdom, but paranoia, so I say let it go.
This is what Warhammer is all about. Warhammer (the all encompassing world, not just the MMO in development) is a brutal, combat driven place where every single race in the world is on the brink of extinction. When you fight in Warhammer, you are fighting for your very life and for the lives of your people. When you aid a different race, you are helping to combat the greater of two evils. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" doesn't ring truer in any game than it does in WAR. If the Empire falls to Chaos, they are free to move deeper into human lands. If the Dark Elves fall to the High Elves, Chaos will find itself with a new enemy sitting on it's back door ready to rip into it. If the Dwarves fall, you can bet the Greenskins will be setting their sights on the Old World lands. All they know is combat. A good Greenskin leader is one that can keep an enemy in front of his troops so they don't start fighting with each other.
You will have PvE. It will have a goal, a focus. It just isn't the focus "you" want it to be. As such, like Paul Barnett said, then maybe WAR isn't the game for you to spend your time and money playing. Mythic has a goal in what they want WAR to be. Games Workshop has the biggest stake in this game. They own the IP. Warhammer is about fighting all the time. The reported reasons behind why Climax lost the Warhammer MMO license is because the first game was being designed as a PvE-fest. Games Workshop wasn't happy with that so they pulled out. Warhammer Fantasy Battle is a Player vs Player game at heart. To exclude that is to destroy the very core of what makes it Warhammer.
why u guys being a grammer nazi man i hate people that do that, but OP u shouldnt post something that isnt going to come true.
WAR maybe is gonna be a WOW killer

Prediction doesn't equal prophecy.
Sorry to tell you, but WAR's beta signups alone have shown that the game is highly anticipated. The hands-on previews by many gaming sites confirm it is the bomb.
You might be waiting a long time for groups in whatever "other" game you will be playing. Good luck!

Peoples like you may ruin WAR.
Warhammer is FAR more then what you depict in your limited conception. You obviously play only a very few Warhammers products, not the whole lot of them...and you try to enforce their point of view on others. The WAR isn't that pronounced in every game, and often it is merely in the background. The consequences doesn,t always lead to razing an enemy capital. Many Brettonians have never see, nor fear, nor consider Chaos, Skavens or anything Evil or Chaos...You are limiting yourself to the frontline between the Empire and the Chaos...which is biaised, badly. Not to mention, that the WAR, is 99% of the time in GBT, not in RT...soooo bring me the link here?
The PvE focus you describe is a PvP focus, not a PvE focus. PvE has no focus, no reason, no meaning, in WAR. PvE can't be submissive to RvR and be describe as having a goal...a slave is a slave.
The more peoples are like you, the less well WAR will do. You close your mind, you try to enforced RvR and WAR and weaaaaaaaggghhh on everyone else. Warhammer is more then WAR. And this come from a fan of...Khorne itself!

People like you make me laugh. You obviously can't comprehend that there is a game that doesn't provide what you want. Go flaunt your opinions somewhere that it will be taken with some seriousness.
How can you say the PvE means nothing in WAR? Any quest you do goes towards the war effort, and helps your army accumulate enough victory points to capture a zone. And this is just one of the ways that PvE is of importance.
How are you viewing PVE as submissive to RVR? they are one and the same... the "goal" of the game is to defeat your enemy, wether by PVE actions or PVP actions you are fighting toward the same cause.
Just like in some other well known PvE only games the objective is you defeat "bosses" ( i guess would be the word) the "boss" in WAR happens to be the Capital City's of your oposeing faction and all oogy boogys inside of it, when you complete quests or whatever, you're fighting toward getting to that Capital City and Saccing it and killing the big bad "boss" inside it, just like people who are RvRing are trying to do.
Let me see...
Paul promised me War.
Hmm, war...war... Is war in War?
Yep, everything's here!
Bez00 you seem to miss the point of the Podcasts, Game day demos, Video blogs, Development diaries, Video interviews, and the Newsletter. (phew that's a mouthful.)
EA Mythic isn't "saying" this is in the game, their already showing us it's in the game.
i geuss u didnt do to good in english class.... o yea. and war will be a good game, way better then LOTRO i bet.
look who is talking it is guess not geuss and yea i also think WAR will beat LOTRO
http://crazi-ville.myminicity.com/
who cares about hype? Personally I'll probably buy both games and hype has nothing to do with it. Its whether *I* want to buy the product or not.. I could give a crap less about hype. Hype in general equates to having nothing else to offer.
I think a more realistic picture of the original post would be:
The game launches and achieves "X" amount of subscribers. Most people have fun playing IN the game while some very vocal (but minority) will post on some forum crying about something.
Then changes will be made or an expansion will come that changes the game. Then "X" amount of subscribers will leave...
you can pretty much repeat that process until you reach the point where people say...
"The game was better before they ..."
I mean honestly isn't that pretty much how the majority of MMO's go?
(notice I said majority and not all.. some flop before release, some after and well... I'll leave the rest up to you).
It's another fantasy MMO game. I agree it won't do well. The market is too saturated with this type of game. And everyone's still on their WOW hangovers for the next year or so, looking for something non-fantasy.

AAH! A troll fire! Quick, pour some Kool-Aid on it!!!
"War is everywhere in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR), the new MMORPG from the creators of Dark Age of Camelot®. Based on Games Workshop's popular Warhammer® fantasy war game, WAR features next generation Realm vs. Realm™ (RvR) game play that will immerse players in a world of perpetual conflict."
"Based on Games Workshop's popular Warhammer fantasy world. Dominated by force of arms and magic, this world provides a rich setting for hundreds of thousands of players to experience the epic nature of war and the glory of battle."
"This gaming action is set amid a fantasy world like no other, where sorcery and monsters are common on the field of battle. The aim of every person who plays Warhammer is to pit their force of miniatures against other players across fantastic battlefields."
" Warhammer has been around for over 20 years. In that time, the background story of the game has grown from a humble narrative into a highly detailed and well-worn universe that is ready for you to explore. Be warned, though — the world of Warhammer is a dangerous place and not for the faint of heart."
"Fighting battles is what Warhammer is about and every player will tell you that it takes adept generalship, sound tactics and a good knowledge of your troops' capabilities to ensure victory."
All of those quotes are taken from either the Warhammer Online Official Website, the Games Workshop Warhammer Site or from the Warhammer Rules book. I added the bold for emphasis. So now please explain to me how WoW-like PvE fits into this world? You aren't asking for just PvE to have a goal, because it does. As I said before, the goal of PvE is to reinforce the war effort. Just like open world PvP does. Just like the PvP scenarios do. Let me quote Mythic's stance on PvE in WAR:
Undertake a wide variety of PvE quest types related to an army's war efforts, including:
- Public quests that benefit from the participation of the entire army
- Conflict quests that pit players against an enemy with opposing goals
- Branching quests that let you choose the outcome of the quest and your reward
- Xmas quests that reward exploration with high value loot
PvE quest types related to an army's war efforts. That right there says what the goal of PvE is in WAR. It sounds like you want WoW gameplay in the Warhammer world. You want what was to be Climax's interpretation of the Warhammer universe, which coincidentally Games Workshop pulled the plug on.
And please explain to me how I am being closed minded about what WAR is when I am basing it on the information given to us by Mythic? Also, please show me a Warhammer related game that isn't about war and fighting.
Now for more quotes:
Many Brettonians have never see, nor fear, nor consider Chaos, Skavens or anything Evil or Chaos... What? You are telling me Bretonnian Knights have never fought Chaos, Skaven, Greenskins, nor either of the two Undead races? Do you even know what Warhammer is? Let me put this little misconception to rest right now. Taken directly from here: nemesis.us.games-workshop.com/introduction/armies/bretonnians.htm
Many a bold knight has made a name for himself in recent days and, while this affirmation of chivalric principles warmed King Louen Leoncouer's heart, it presented him with a problem. In Bretonnia, tradition dictates that valour upon the field of battle be rewarded with land. However, so successful have his knights proved that Leoncouer has run short of land to award.
So it is that King Louen has issued a decree. It is clear, he has said, that the Empire is beset, and that Bretonnia must rise to defend her cousin. An Errantry War has been declared, its aim to purge the Empire of all threats. Furthermore, knights with the rank of Baron or higher are permitted to extend the protection of the crown to any Empire township that wishes greater protection from the strife besetting them and a more stable form of governance than that offered by the Emperor Karl Franz
Perhaps you can tell me how it is that Bretonnia has never seen nor has any fear whatsoever of Chaos given this. This is fun, let's keep going.
"You are limiting yourself to the frontline between the Empire and the Chaos...which is biaised, badly."
Taking from my earlier post, I present this:
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" doesn't ring truer in any game than it does in WAR. If the Empire falls to Chaos, they are free to move deeper into human lands. If the Dark Elves fall to the High Elves, Chaos will find itself with a new enemy sitting on it's back door ready to rip into it. If the Dwarves fall, you can bet the Greenskins will be setting their sights on the Old World lands.
How am I focusing in on only the Chaos/Empire battle? I've had a High Elf army. I'm no lore expert like some people I've spoken to, but I know plenty to partake in intelligent, well informed conversations about the world of Warhammer.
It is really you that wants Warhammer Online to be something it isn't. I see the game for what it is. And I am looking forward to it. PvE won't be a focus in this game. It will always have ties into the war being waged on 3 fronts. That's just how Mythic says it is going to be.
Maybe in that 2 years you will learn how to spell and have enough time to fix your spelling mistakes.

Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!
I don't understand why people have be so stupid. Have you played the game or even researched the game? Why don't you get back to us once you have, maybe you'll make a useful post then.
the biggest problem i have with op's opinion is he makes it sound like the game is being released tomorrow. in the last interview with the WAR team they said the beta will probably go through the end of the year. so from the looks of it they are trying to get everything as right as they can. will it be perfect at release? no nothing is. will it be what a lot of people are looking for, i sure hope so.
