Just interested in a quick answer, so if anyone knows thanks.
Most games where PvP rewards xp its extremely easy to exploit and the only games I've seen succesfully address this is where level doesn't really matter and as such the xp exploiting timesink outweighs the benefit. But I have understood that this will be a standard level model where level will matter and increasing it to fight in higher areas is the aim. If so whats to stop 2 large guilds finding a secluded spot and let each other farm away for a few hours?

I havent seen in their podcast and overwiews that they have an automated system to prevent it. If you can build an opposite faction guild to meet in the battlefields then you farm it away as long as you wish. I hope i'm wrong.
It is a question of fangs.
In DAoC "farming" in PvP usually got you banned (given that a GM caught you in the act or someone else filed a complaint that could be confirmed by checking server logs). Then there is also a timer, that reduces the amount of realm points you can gain from an enemy, if he/she was killed recently. So I guess Mythic has a couple of tools to deal with such exploits. Not saying that it will be impossible though and there is probably no automatic way to detect or punish this. But I always felt that they were quite on top of things in that respect.
From Daoc:
1 anyone that is killed recently = very few points
2 kill someone with ress sickness = no points at all.
3. kill lower level = less pts.
4. kill high rank = alot of pts.
5. kill low rank = less pts.
Not to mention so called "Feeding" gets you suspended from the game even banned if you're caught.
at least being faction based, it would be far less simple to exploit the PvP XP system. Diminishing returns may help.

also Daoc has internal program to check players doing repeatable action over and over but since population is so low now they dont really ban anyone for macroing anymore.
Its a very good system should work well with WAR if they use it or something along the same lines.

I should note that ALL leveling that gives exp by killing players will be exploited to some extent. What Jor8888 has described is "Damage Control" it doesnt prevent exp exploiting just detours people from doing it. People will do it anyway no matter what they try and do

True but that is also true for PvE and all MMO's. Some people will always try to exploit games anyway they can.
The reason it's fairly impossible to do this, on top of all of Mythic's checks and balances they've learned from DAoC, is that there is no way to create a controlled environment where you can choose who you are fighting against. Instanced skirmishes randomly match players up. And world PvP, is in the world, so you have the possibility of having other players interfering with the exploitation, either by actually fighting for the side that is supposed to not fight back, or reporting the inactivity of the large group of players who are just letting the opposing side run over them. I doubt it will be done at all. About as often as capitol city raids happen in WoW
Once you go go whack, you'll never go back.
What is this "whack", you say? Check out the links!

I have to agree with the above poster. With World PvP happening in zones with people of opposing factions wandering around in, they'll either help the side that's getting mowed over or notice something amiss and report it. Or exploit themselves. I guess that could happen too.
I guess a certain amount of control will deter the masses from exploiting but I just don't see them banning the hardcore large preassembled guilds with 100's of members. I've seen them do it on all games with this mechanic and they do it in conjunction with other like minded guilds, it's a shame. The longer the grind to max level the more exploiting will take place, the real world benefits will just be too good to the 2ndary market.
As for finding places to do it, in any decent sized game there will always be completely desolate ares.

I cannot see a reason to explot RvR for xp. There will be such a huge number of players that the fastest way to get xp will be to join a group and play the game. Of course there will be poeple that try, but im sure that the best way to advence fast is with a good group or guild and rock it.
If you are going to grind pvp for exp, why not grind pve instead? There are mobs there who don't fight back (well they do, but come on, pve mobs are there to get killed by you, not to kill you, it's a game design) they give exp/gold/loot just like players, you can kill mobs far more easily than players (even if you are farming pvp) and since you obviously aren't doing it for fun, pve is the way to go, not pvp.
Only thing exp in pvp adds is ability for people to level through pvp if they so choose. Oh, and also, if you are good at pvp, and have a group of friends and you all play classes that make a nicely balanced group, you will earn for more exp/rps just by running over everyone than by setting up groups to farm each other =p so, good pvp'ers won't do it, and idiots who do won't matter... actually, scratch that, they will matter, since they will be just walking rps for everyone else
PS: Zone wide death spam > large zones and desolate areas
Again, it could ahppen, but people who do it for the most part are none factor in pvp. It was rarely done in daoc, except for pvp servers, whcih are just a bad idea
So someone thinks it will be a good idea to get 2 accounts to continually kill one toon for exp (or a buddies account). This is ridiculously retarded, just go grind easy mobs and you will gain more exp. What happens to the player when you kill him????Does he pop back up standing there to be killed again??.....no, he is going to spawn somewhere safe....meaning your going to have to run him out of the safe area and kill him again for pretty much no exp this time unless you sit there and wait on the rez timer. All this for 2 exp hits...dumb. Just go pve grind some way lower mobs than you and have it be a lot more mindless and gain more exp. If this takes place it will be done by a handful of people at a time which will realize they have wasted their time, not profitable....just go kill.
You won't need to prevent it because there will be far better and more efficient ways of leveling up. Why pvp farm exp when you can go do quests and get a level 200% faster? I'm sure there will be some system in place, but only the stupid or desperate would actually try to farm exp that way.
Why care?
The point of the game is to fight and have fun in PvP
If all you're doing is grinding in PvP, the game has no point.
Just enjoy it...and when you run into crossrealming exploiter, you'll mow em down, cause all they have experience with is fighting innactive dummies.
Like someone already brought up in this thread. Pretty much people use to get banned for this in DAoC. It was really easy to tell who was leeching RP's(these were points you got, like exp that you could spend on skills). The reason you could tell is because the death spam. If you continually see someone killing others and not dieing or the same people getting killed over and over by someone, then something isn't right.
I don't know if they'll have zone wide death spam, like in DAoC. But don't think for a second they don't have some kind of logger that throws up a red flag for something like that.
I'm not really looking forward to this game, but I have pretty good amount of faith in Mythic.
