Did anyone else love "Pet Wars"?

Did any of you love the pre nerf Creature Handler in all it's glory? I did. I mean whipping out 3 grauls is kinda obscene. But I still loved it. All I had were a couple of klikniks that I bought from a master CH. I was a BH/pistoleer with just noob lvl CH so I could have a tank for soloing.
Anyways I understand if you thought CH's were t3h l4me. -

pre-CU CH... although it needed some work and was redundant and overpowered.. not to mention exploited.... i loved it. Even just getting my very own Kaadu or Kupa without having CH skills.

3 grauls? Hah! *pets Spike* All I needed was my Plains Hunter...just one. Killed many many many Rebels and then later killed many many Imperials...Had him the very first week of the games release and he is still in my datapad.....too bad he can't be called anymore....fucking NGE
Although I miss my pet Rancor.. my biggest loss was my 3 Sludge Panthers I ran with.

I missed my ancient bull rancor the most. Boy was he a beast. Moved on, playin other games who cares about whats never coming back.
I like your honesty, reminds me of my favourite Jedi killer a Carbine with an insaqne mind poison. One of my favourite pre-cu memories is hunting a Jedi (I was MBH/MC) he swam into a lake to avoid a death blow since he could tank any ranged damaged and had a 90% saber block even in water! I pulled out my mind poison elite carb and let off a couple of shots, got a hit then switched to my usual high damage carb and waited until his mind pool was gone then death blowed with the carbine from the bridge. He was VERY pissed after that and reported me to SOE for cheating, ahhhhhh I recieved some of the finest hate mail in any MMO from my days as a bounty hunter in SWG. If someone else did that game again pre-cu with Raphael Koster incharge I'd run to the store to buy a copy fster than a Bishop running from a brothel raid!

My understanding is CH got a nerf around Dec. of '03 so I never saw them in all their strength. I came along in May of '04 and CH was my favorite combat profession. Didn't like what they did to BE animals with CU. The higher level the animal was, the bigger it grew so a BE'ed animal could end up being quite bigger than what one would find in "nature." It took out the fun of having some tiny critter pack a powerful punch. It also meant that BE'ed animals could be smaller than what one found in "nature" if they were lower level than their natural spawn. My poor woolamander collection on my last CH (who also happened to be my first BE) came in a wide variety of sizes as a result.
When I quit CH wasn't fully nerfed yet, IIRC. I think it was a sequence of nerfs that started about sept '03. I quit in either oct or nov '03.
I remember taming my first Sludge Panther, Maurice. I was quite low level and was parading it around Bestine when I was attacked by a cheeky Wookie Rifleman, also quite low level. My panther zipped off and went for him while I was still fumbling for my pistoil. We got him though. Good days. I shouldn't have laughed though when then Wookie, after cloning, messaged me: 'You are imbalanced and will be nerfed'. How right the verminous monkey was. Sigh.
