hmm there are tons of free mmos out there but just a few that are worth playing.

atm no other that i would reccomend to you. maybe rappelz is out dated too....stopped playing it for a year or something like that but it was one of the best free mmos.
Originally posted by VaNaS Theirs a reason why those games are free in the end...their basicly all one huge grind fest.. I would just pass them if i were u and get some other non free mmo-game insteed, cause if u played 1 uve played pretty much all.
How are those massive grindfests different from regular p2p games...?
Played so far: 9Dragons, AO, AC, AC2, CoX, DAoC, DF, DnL, DR, DDO, Ent, EvE, EQ, EQ2, FoMK, FFO, Fury, GW, HG:L, HZ, L1, L2, M59, MU, NC1, NC2, PS, PT, R:O, RF:O, RYL, Ryzom, SL, SB, SW:G, TR, TCoS, MX:O, UO, VG, WAR, WoW... It all sucked.
I recommend either playing Deicide Online or Tales Of Pirates. Deicide is a great Free MMO that is really fun with lots to do. I would only recommend playing tales of pirates if you like anime. If you do then Tales Of Pirates is like the WoW of anime its really lush. __Justin Hill
I think it comes down to whether the grind itself is enjoyable. Some games are point, click. wait. Point, click wait. Compare that, forexample with say; Gunz The Duel(free FPS mmog - as theres very little RP involved ). Which the 'grind' is pretty intense most of the way up, sure it becomes repetitive, but isnt that the same with all skill grinds. you get a newer spell. you just cast that one instead.
Generally speaking F2P games are fun for a couple of months, If the GUI, key layout, tutorial etc is good. but once you've gotten past the total newbie stage you find either really bored people, fanboys or people who have no choice but to play a F2P game.

Out of the 4 free ones I've played, 9 Dragons is the only one I stuck with. Graphically it is very nice, and the lore and history add a great deal to the overall feel of the game.
As for the comment about p2p games being a grind too. I know of one that is not a grind.
You might want to consider Beta testing some of the newer games soon to be released! Turbine even offered beta testers a discounted price after it was released. I got a Lord of the Rings Online lifetime membership out of it afterwards. Not exactly free but it will never cost me a monthly fee ever again. Besides you get to beta test the game for free even if they offer you nothing later.
Choose one of the dubloon oceans and it's essentially free to play (they have a microcurrency which can be bought with cash or ingame money). It's different from most other MMO's, no real grinding just puzzles that become more complex if you do well.
The newbie game boils down to working on a ship (bilge, sails, or carpentry) then fighting an enemy ship with players or NPC's to steal their loot. The advanced game becomes far more complex. You can form your own crews, run your own shops, or even conquer and become mayor of your own little island.
I tried to install Knight Online but when I did my computer detected a hack from the game or somthing like that i dont kno what to do... Has this happened to anyone else?
This is the best site for everything you need to know about 'Perfect World'.
This F2P game has been described as the 'asian WOW',and this very month the Malaysian version is said to be having a 100% English client done for the game,so we can play it in English! I've seen many videos and briefly played the MY version; I have to say for a F2P,it certainly has some appeal to it.
It has certain 'features' to the game that are particularly impressive, such as the ability to 'carry' someone on your travel mount or just via plain old walking. I'd recommend you at least look through the Youtube videos (and most of the Wiki) and check this MMORPG out; it may be something special in the F2P world....
Oh yeah, and here's the official MY site for the game, but I imagine if you regularly check the site above you'll know when the English client is released rather than attempt to go through the translating on this site: http://www.world2.com.my/

almost all mmorpgs are a grindfest but not everyone is fun. you have to try almost all of them and then decide which one you would like "to finish" ^^

I'd suggest www.lokreloaded.com , its a free 2d online rpg game.

metin 2 is terribly boring, imo...or maybe i'm grouchy about the no customization whatsoever policy it has...
Check out the MUD I'm making!
I'd have to recommend Puzzle Pirates - http://www.puzzlepirates.com/
