Hey, guys.
Just wanted to let you know about a discrimination that is going on in the Beta Tests.
I tried to sign on for it, and discovered that my country, Israel, is not on the list.
You might say Israel is not in Europe, but then why is "Algeria", "Yemen", and many, many other non-european countries on the list there?
I wrote EAMythic about it, but got not response, so I decided to tell you guys about it, if any of you care...

Well that does kinda suck. Hope they respond with a solution.
Maybe it's not coded for your country yet? I'm not a programmer, but I know that games have to be programmed differently for different places. Like mods for WoW were designed for US clients, Europe clients, and others.
I seriously doubt the devs are anti-semitic or purposely discriminating.
But this is a good angle to work if you're just trying to pressure them to let you play! I salute your efforts!

well, I find it very hard to believe they managed to program it for ALGERIA and YEMEN, but not for Israel.
I can guarentee you the number of MMO players in Israel is more than 100 the number it is in thoes two countries combined.
I wrote EAmythic over a month ago. They are not writing me back.
BTW, Israel is considered in Europe in WoW and LOTRO.
I see that Laos isn't on their list either! They must be discriminating!
Laos is no where near Europe.
And if Algeria and Yemen weren't on the list, I wouldn't have said a word.
But if you include them, you have to include Israel.
Guess what: Neither is Japan, yet it's on their list. I'm fairly sure this has little to do with whether the country is in Europe or not.
Well, then please tell - what DOES it has to do with?
Luckily the last choice in the list of countries is "Others..."

Why do people treat testing a BETA like a frikkin right ?!?
It is their company. They can invite whoever they want. Until you are actually a paying customer you have no right to complain.
I tried that choice - when you try to register, it says "This country is not authorized".
And if I seem a bit sensitive, it's just because I think it is unfair that countries in which there are obviously close to no players of computer games at all, not to mention MMO's, are on this lists, while Israel, one of the most developed countries in the world, isn't... Seems awfully weird to me, and when I write to EAmythic about it, they won't even dignify me with an answer...
so yeah.. I'm a little pissed off. Can you blame me?

If your grandma gave all her grandchildren money, but gave you none, wouldn't you complain?

May not work for beta, but I hope you'll have no problems for retail.
I doubt I'll have problem in retail, and I can leave without the beat...

i'm sure your Country is not yet available because of the coding.
What I did so far was try the contact options on the warhammer on-line web-site.

What protocol would that be? The internet is pretty much standardized around TCP/IP.
Maybe it's a law thing, somehow the NDA would not prove valide in Israel, but it's just a theory, cant be sure unless u talk to GOA.
i believe you are correct. Your country may have different laws that make a NDA void. So instead of chancing things they just don't offer it.
They do not like most of the world's countries on there so I do not see how you can claim discrimination. Palastine wasn't listed either.
I doubt this will make you feel better, but with 200,000+ people signed up (and that was a figure from weeks ago) your chances of getting in at near zero anyway.
I have a feeling this is about a country's laws and licensing, not discrimination... at least I hope so. Not sure if that includes things like ratings (like teen or adult etc) but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that Mythic don't have permission to release in Israel yet, and so they don't dare offer it even for beta.

Apparently, the devs do hang out at the warhammer-alliance website. Maybe you could ask one there.

Dude calm down, its all about how the world is cut up for publishing rights. If we apply this logic to say south korea who produce many mmos that we wont see until 4-10 years from now they are huge racist.
I'm sorry for you, and surprises me but not that much. GW had problems with law issues in Israel in the past, GW owns the IP as you should know, then the equation is done.
I dont have the time to goggle it now, but the fact is that: they bare some licensing problems there, as some politicians in Israel saw GW racial-biased and a little scandal arose from that.
Anyways, I think now it could be the moment for GW to solve the little dispute and gain customers in a developed and in my opinion European country as Israel is. Ani mibarcelona misfarad. Hope you can play in the EU or Israel servers when the moment comes and it is released.

The guild wars problem: Israel didnt like GW for the name used in their game ( "Kryta" ) which was a word that was obviously derived from the word "Krytocracy", which means a form of government where judges rule the common. The white mantles religious standpoints in guild wars reflected what is extremly dictatorship about this system of rule. Israel got huffy. According to the "bible", this form of government was used in Israel during that time.
I havent played warhammer online, but I have played warhammer, it does contain alot of religious apects and influences.
It may be me jumping the gun to say this, but I have an idea, instead of pushing the blame on the developers, why dont you look at your own over zealous leadership yes?
