so, erm, what does this game have, that tons of other asian style mmos don't? we have lineage, which has a fee, otherweise, there is silkroad, 9dragons, rappelz, etc, etc, etc which are basically all the same with simple, but nice graphics, tons of grind-quests, and focused a lot on pvp. honestly, do we need another one of that sort? why can't there be free mmo's which are different? i realize it is difficult to develop mmos, and one wants to go the safe way, but honestly, for how long?

- This game is all about the lore of the chinese Myth "Pangu". There are over 5000 quests implemented. From crafting quests, character advancment quests, to usual mob killing, finding items, time limited, instanced quests etc.! There are also plenty of quests which can enhance different things on your character... more pet slots, special items etc.!
Do quests have good rewards?
- Quests are the main way to advance your character, they often give plenty of xp and also many good items. Also some quests have additional advantages which may increase different kind of things on your character (pet slots, enhance inventory etc.). Quests also increase your skill points as well as may change your faction.

I found out when (someone) posted a page about it on wikipedia. 8-) And by reading the current opening statement you will know that it is not another Silkroad. It cost them like 40 million Chinese Dollars to MAKE it, not counting running it (if Wikipedia is true).
Was anyone able to download the beta client from these links? Where are you downloading it if not there? Because the official site refuses to connect on any of the download links.

You can fly in coh and flyff... you dont know if "you will need 2 centuries to connect". also, the only thing that you say its "new", its flying, and this is nothing new as I said in the first.
Why you say that he must play to talk and you talk without it? you didnt played it too, and you are talking about the "features" you think it got, like the other guy do.
So if the only "NEW" think is flying. It have anything new (yes yes, go and see grhypons on wow, and fly on flyff or coh "with your own wings", horses are everywhere too...)
Btw, hope it got something else new, in character developmen or something like this, because almost all mmorpg sucks in this, the char is not "your char" is "another one", no real set up on your skills, no real set up on your avatar. Again, take a look to old games like Shadowbane and Coh and you will see lot of "NEW" things (yes, you can fly in shadowbane...)

The User interface in this video is slightly modified to a different version i saw in another video, which Both are almost exact as what is in WoW - Its easy to Mod User interfaces, as Wow had many customisations.
The Mini Map and Interface bars(That comes up when you use a spell, the cast time) Is Exatly the same as world of Warcraft.
Another little thing is the Loot animation where its glowing lights streaming up from the corpse, is Exact.
Other Little parts seem to have similarities, like the floating Islands, they look pretty simlar (Apart from the buildings on them) to what appeared in a Patch last year for World of Warcraft.
Theres acouple of other things, like above, but so many little ones theres not much point in mentioning as its just little parts.
One part that stands out for me is the Panda Character and the Tiger Character, The Panda more than anything, anyone who plays World of Warcraft will know what i mean when i say Panda. Basically for ages there's been references to Pandas in world of Warcraft, you can have a baby pet panda, and in the origonal model database there is *Speculation* but a Model for a Panda Character, wether or not it made it into the game or not is beyond me as ive not played in about a year now.

There is a Program that you can get that lets you see any model thats in the world of warcraft game, all you need is the game itself. You use the external program you can put armour onto Characters, customize them, weapons, and also run animations, even at any speed. Also the Game is pretty loose as far as MMO's go, because ever since its been out there have been hacked servers for Wow, so its easy to manipulate the whole game.
Im not saying this game is a complete WoW rippoff, but theres definatley a Homage to Wow in this Game.

The bad thing about the Asian MMO's are they usually look the same, the only thing you get different are the Characters and Items, the whole system tho, including mechanics, terrain drawing, art direction as you say, and also the game system, like buttons and weapon stats are done in the exact same manner.
Hence why WoW and Rose are so popular in Asia.
I have however played Asian MMO's that played quite well, and also had a different style, but still used the same linear gameplay, combat, and character system.
In about 5 years time when the Unreal engine 4 comes out im gunna Develop my own MMORPG, and it will be awesome.
To say that this MMO is like WoW is correct, which is what they were going for. As for saying that this game took what WoW has and use it, or "hack" the client and remake the stuff, that's purely speculation. Some say the graphic is more like L2 than WoW, some say the function is more like WoW.
According to the official website info, the company (Perfect World Co.) said they develop the 3D engine themselves. You can either take it as it is, or speculate that they "hack" other engines to do it. Personally I say unless you have tangible evidence (and no, look-alike is NOT tangible evidence), you can't really say they "hack" a game and uses their UI since there isn't a law to prohibit something that look alike, only if the actual code is in use or certain trademark are used, then there would be a violation. But so far there has been no news about Perfect World being sue over for "hack" other MMO or copy their code and re-engineering it.
Another thing is asian MMO devs never do anything about BOTs. They get infested in their games. And if it's FTP it usually has an item mall that requires you to purchase online crap with real money or your toon will be gimp. Plus, they usually let people set up little shops which suck because they are all over the dang place lagging everything up. Point/Click isn't my thing either.
You know that most things you said are not true right?
Most of the F2P games have item shops, but the items doesn't change the gameplay... It's more on the side of different cloth, cosmetics stuff... So it's a myth that your toon will be gimp if you don't buy stuff. (I played a few F2P, never buys anything, and I am on par with others... )
As for Bots? It is same as every MMO (I have seen those ... everywhere, not just in Asian MMO).
As for setting up shops? some like it, others don't. But mostly the ASIAN gamers like it. Same goes for the PnC control...

KAL online was pretty good for shops, shame tho, because there was only 1 server when i played it, = 8000 players, and about 700 people selling in one place, 300 fishing in the same place. It was easy because you didnt have to be at your PC to sell stuff and fish etc.

I followed the progress of this game during its closed beta,and played the Malaysian version for a visual look. I then awaited open beta on the PH version,as what I saw in the Malaysian version impressed me somewhat. Seemed to have a lot of quests to do,and it looked nice in general and you could explore towns by jumping around. The animations and stuff also looked good for a F2P.
However,unless things have changed,I believe they blocked foreign IP's for the PH version. But I know an American company is making another English version of the game,so that's probably why. I think they are planning some kind of release/beta for the autumn of this year though,so maybe we won't be waiting long.
I play on the malaysian 1 & installed the new english text patch, its a good game (bit tricky to get going on vista).
Played for about 2 weeks... so far so good, bit of a warcraft clone but bit more depth into character customisation.. im going to stop playing it this weekend (say g'bye to m8s etc) as the eng/usa server is out in a few days. (was shout out ingame tonight).

Chinese WoW with better graphics. I think this game might be good, better than most Asian MMORPGs anyway.

KAL online was pretty good for shops, shame tho, because there was only 1 server when i played it, = 8000 players, and about 700 people selling in one place, 300 fishing in the same place. It was easy because you didnt have to be at your PC to sell stuff and fish etc.
Well Forcan, theres not much i can say, but i must say it can all be speculation, i cant prove it runs anything to do with WoW in the game, just like you couldnt prove me wrong.
It looks like it uses some resource from WoW, but it could all just be re-made to look similar, But then it would be as i said before and is a Homage to WoW, rather than a client hack or anything else remotely to do with hacking.
But if a company could get away with stuff like that, meaning it's less work and could passed as their own work, who's to say that companies dont do that. Its the internet dont forget, anything is possible and most of it is un-traceable.
So, yes maybe this game has Homage to Wow, whether or not it uses resource from Wow it would be hard to tell unless i had the game, then i could check.
But im not going to mess about saying otherwise, and i will leave it at saying this game is a Homage to Wow and Lineage 2, and quote me BORROWS styles from both the games, until proven otherwise.

ANd a clear cut example of another person bashing an asian game off face and not actually playing it, this game isnt point and click. and most good games use a combination of mouse and keyboard, as well msot games have bots, some games mask it better then others. And item malls are the reason the games can survive f2p, they have to sell something worth paying for.

Just one example, ofcourse. Those games don't even share the same artstyle, heck, they don't even share the same theme.
You can fly in coh and flyff... you dont know if "you will need 2 centuries to connect". also, the only thing that you say its "new", its flying, and this is nothing new as I said in the first.
Why you say that he must play to talk and you talk without it? you didnt played it too, and you are talking about the "features" you think it got, like the other guy do.
So if the only "NEW" think is flying. It have anything new (yes yes, go and see grhypons on wow, and fly on flyff or coh "with your own wings", horses are everywhere too...)
Btw, hope it got something else new, in character developmen or something like this, because almost all mmorpg sucks in this, the char is not "your char" is "another one", no real set up on your skills, no real set up on your avatar. Again, take a look to old games like Shadowbane and Coh and you will see lot of "NEW" things (yes, you can fly in shadowbane...)

I followed the progress of this game during its closed beta,and played the Malaysian version for a visual look. I then awaited open beta on the PH version,as what I saw in the Malaysian version impressed me somewhat. Seemed to have a lot of quests to do,and it looked nice in general and you could explore towns by jumping around. The animations and stuff also looked good for a F2P.
However,unless things have changed,I believe they blocked foreign IP's for the PH version. But I know an American company is making another English version of the game,so that's probably why. I think they are planning some kind of release/beta for the autumn of this year though,so maybe we won't be waiting long.
I play on the malaysian 1 & installed the new english text patch, its a good game (bit tricky to get going on vista).
Played for about 2 weeks... so far so good, bit of a warcraft clone but bit more depth into character customisation.. im going to stop playing it this weekend (say g'bye to m8s etc) as the eng/usa server is out in a few days. (was shout out ingame tonight).
