It isn't, trust me, it just isn't. Go to the aion section and look up some of the posts. "Standard Korean games" are often inspired by the Lineage series (Lineage 1 and Lineage 2). NCsoft wants to start a brand new franchise that is aimed at the western MMORPG market. For one, its a casual game, not a hardcore game. Quote from NCsoft: "It won't be as fast as WoW, but it is possible to reach the cap level in a month"

Its also build around WASD movement, as opposed to the traditional point & click.

You're right, Aion is simply not like the Korean grinders we know and fear here in the west. He is, however, not the only one who thinks it is. I believe much of it has to do with the PR that has been close to non-existant (it's coming, though). Also, things such as character customization are generally finalized further down the road.

I haven't seen any good trailers for it yet. By good I mean anything that isn't on YouTube. YouTube compresses the movies to an obscenely crappy scale. So yeah basically what I'm asking does anyone have links to a good trailer?

The real problem for me is that the first time i heard of it was when gameloading posted about it. Aions media campaign is so off the radar as to be non-existant and becasue of this and what little i have seem it does look dangerously similar in art style to a Korean grind game.  True it might not be but till i see some more detailed reports on it i cant say for sure. Netherless when it comes out im willing to give it a fare go.

to me its far too similar to Lineage2 and and every korean grind oriented game. Lineage2 i must admit had me hooked despite its horrendous grind but had me coming back until recently that i realized the economics were pooched and not worth grinding for when a grade B or grade A item cost u 100-300 million adena. silly to say the least. but Aion agree with some of you, seems to be a prettyied up version of Lineage 2 while retaining its sado-masochistic grinding elements.

I have a lvl 56 DA in L2 and to me if I played Aion its like starting all over regardless if its a new game or not. Even Sword of the new world granada espada also has a grindesque feel to it, instead of the mobs being hard the mobs are easy as hell and hundreds get thrown at u a minute lol and u have 3 characters to control. Im in the open beta and the boob physics are nice, and the graphics overall are nice, but it has no true depth, its still hack this kill this, pick up the loot or item, go sell make more money, lather rinse repeat. oh yeah and you do some quests to some degree, more so than Lineage2 has ever done, but its grind grind grind hack hack hack, kill kill kill, loot loot loot.

    Yawn City!
