If you could pick a specific person to play (from earth) either a mutant like wolverine / cyclops, modified due to accident/experiments like the Hulk or Mr. Fantastic, self modified like Iron Man, or any other so long as they're from earth... who would you pick and why. Oh, and yes evil characters go for your life!
I'd pick venom because he has the abilities of spiderman, albiet perhaps not as agile, BUT got a cooler costume hehe.
Ginetti.

Wasn't it Marvel who sued Cryptic (City of Heroes) because some individual players happened to create characters who 'resembled' Marvel characters? So what happens when a player in their new game creates a character - who may or may not in some vague way - resemble a character copyrighted by some other company? Will each players character have to be approved one at a time by Marvel copyright lawyers or what?
This kind of corporate greediness and disregard of personal expression on Marvel's part deserves a reply from MMORPG players everywhere. Don't give them one red cent of your money.
... but then the company that made COH went on to sign with Marvel to make their game. If they don't care why should you?
That said, I would avoid the Spidermen and Wolverines that will flood the game. I'd probably go for Deadpool!
I wouldn't want to play an existing character from the Marvel universe, I'd want to create my own with my own powers, abilities and background. I am very curious to see where they take the game though.
I'd play sammy slide, the slippery character who is hard to grab!

My HARDCORE Story
Shadowcat. And then I'd just stare at her and drool.
MMO games played or tested: EQ, DAoC, Archlord, Auto Assault, CoH, CoV, EQ2, EVE, Guild Wars, Hellgate: London, Linneage II, LOTRO, MxO, Planetside, SWG, Sword of the New World, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, WWIIOL, WOW, Age of Conan
Longshot .. he was always one of the coolest mutants to me.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
Goku
With today's generation in mind i'd have a few to choose from :
Goldfarmer : Supplier to good and evil , always there never gives up.
Super Noob : Always asking others if he can borrow some powers till he gets stronger.
Hackboy : Has no need of powers..just one hits everybody and hides.
The Griefer : Bores you into submission with childish taunts that were old even back in the late 70's.
and finally...
Mr Multi , who can be anyone anytime any place...his true identity never revealed but will always be " number 1 " in anything he does..Known to hang around with Goldfarmer and Hackboy.
P.S Super Noob and The Griefer , are known enemies..these 2 can also be found kissing Hackboy's ass.

Hehe... I enjoy CoX and I'm really looking forward to this game. Unfortunately, I've never really read comics so I only know the most famous ones. Spiderman, Superman, Batman, etc. I have no idea who most of those mentioned here are or what sort of powers they have. I just know I don't want to be Archie!
i dont know if I'll buy it. Im not into playing pre existing character in a MMO. MMOs are neat because you can create your own character and then give him/her a history throughout your play life.
I really hope they'll incoporate the idea of letting you create your own hero and then the NPCs will be the Marvel crew
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
I personally would pick Havok.
I thought he was just asking one of those "what if" questions. Is it really the case that we might not be able to design our own characters and that you will have to choose from a pre-existing set? If that is the case, then I'd probably not be very interested, either.
If I had to be a pre-exhisting Marvel character, I would pick Deadpool or Cable.
Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit
The Watcher...
or a super-being
(Seriously doubt players will be playing pre-existing characters... but we're just playing along on this forum)
We will see how the game does.... for now... nope I wouldn't buy it.
I'm thinking it will be an exact replica of CoH, and that game was fun for about 2 weeks. So, no, unless it gets great reviews. I'm just not interested in playing another grindfest.
I'm still playing it. It is a grindy game, though, so I don't play it often. I would love a game like it, but with more depth and content and less grind. The combat is good fun and it's such an easy game that I keep it around and go back from time to time... which they make very easy to do. More interesting PvP would be great, too, although I don't need PvP to enjoy a good game.
but MArvel made spiderman. Marvel made X-Men. I buy their products like Marvel ultimate alliance. I am a gamer and besides I am helpiong independent game devs stay in business.
Anyway think guys u cant be the actual 'superhero' but they will likely go with Archetypoes. So you can hopefully make a fake wall crawler protege' that can look like spidey. I dread the thought of seeing hundreds of spidey noobs lol.
I'll be captain amaerica look alike
I'm not sure what "CoH works for Marvel" means.
Edit: Never mind. Reading LuciFrank's post made me realise what you meant. Sorry!
Shaman from Alpha Flight
.....perhaps Puck.
I'm just waiting for the flamewar that'll occur when both Marvel's and DC's MMORPGs are closer to release. I think it'll make the AoC vs. WAR silliness look like a schoolyard scuffle. In terms of the world itself, I'd imagine Marvel will have a harder go of things because all Marvel heroes live in real cities, whereas the majority of DC heroes live in fictional towns (Metropolis, Gotham, etc). I'd imagine it'll be much harder to create an accurate, realistic NYC than it will be to create cities that don't exist in the real world. Marvel definitely has the advantage of being developed by Cryptic, which has experience with the musclebound guys in long underwear genre. At the end of the day, I think it'll be play style and game mechanics that make or break these titles, rather than which comic book franchise the game is based on though.
optimus prime because he rocks
War Dancers (wood elves) or some variation of them...never saw any characters which moves equate to them in my imaginary! Neo is prolly the closest, but he is weird and not the same, and he is fast rather then just doing the good move.
I don't think any devs team out there is up for such a challenge atm. Haha, it would be heavy on the machine, especially to see many of them in a limited area!
Any shapechanger would always be cool.
- "If I understand you well, you are telling me until next time. " - Ren
Hahahaha, love it.
I'd love to see a shapchanger class.
What do you all think about this idea: Shapechanger, every few levels you get a new shape changing form/ability.
And you can select from multipul forms each time. (offer a very wide variety, from robotic to organic to a mix to undead etc)
Give so many options that very few shapechangers will look the same at any given time which lends more to the universe and offers more diversity.
