well... RF Online is quite a good game but its far from superior. if you like sf (not hard-sf) games (big mecha, robots and all that) then it is a game for you.
BTW... who ever started the idea that Light makes sound as it travels from point A to point B
hmmm probably some film maker back in the 60's before they were common office presentation tool huh...

Actually the real thing (I used to work in a lab that did research into focused light and energy tech) makes a loud buzz and hissing noise when fired as it super heats the air. But yes .. no .. pew pew ..sound.
RF Online is a cute game idea .. it really fast to level up in and the graphics are actually pretty cool. If pvp is your thing its a good game ..if you want something more from MMOs pass on it.
if you like big robots and big guns, laserz bows swords shields etc....... you'll like this game. but this game still has a lot of grinding like most of the asian mmorpgs......
I played the game at launch for about a month. Liked the whole chip wars and all, but in the end i went back to Lineage 2. Because in essence RF is L2 in a futuristic and in the end L2 is a better product imo. But for those who like the whole futuristic setting its cool game to try. I like the accretians (damn those bellato and their giant mechs turning me into into circuits .

Honestly, this game is terrible. I Beta tested RF online and followed it's development for months, and I thought that it had so much potential. Of course, there was nothing that codemaster could really do besides translate, but the game ended up being crap anyway. The game is definitely on it's way to being free-to-play just like Archlord lol.

CM has no choice in wiether or not RF is free to play nor is that any indication of quality of game, anyone that reads this web site should know there are many fun free games.
CCR does all code and there version has been live on Korean servers over 6 months as Free to play and its there choice to make the usa/uk version hosted by CM same as there current, which is free to play and has many in game features you cant have without going Free to play as the code is written for.
For actual real info and not just some persons opinions ID recommend going to the RF forums and reading what the actually staff has posted in regards to RF. especially Laeth's posts.

My old roommate won free beta entry into it from off this site, but Codemasters took so long processing the winners they ended up launching, and just gave him the game for free . I remember him coming into my room and going, "Dude, want a free game?". I went to his room and played for exactly 20 minutes, and went, "That's okay, wouldn't want to deprive you of such an awesome game". That was the last I heard of that game until now....wow...so it's still alive and kicking? Go RF! Don't go quietly into the night!
All mmorpgs today suck ! You get what the game gives you and you have no control of stats fights what you wear ect ect ect ect! And WOW sucks!
Then I suggest you stop Trolling on a web site that is specifcally ALL about MMO's. GO back to Consoles or PSP or FPS or what ever you find Joy in, Many of us Love MMO's and specfically RF and WoW.

I played the trial for a few days, and I gotta say that unfortunately I didn't like it. Apart from the graphics (which are really beautiful) there was nothing this game had to offer. Same ol' grind.

yes the graphics in RFare amazing. unfortunatly those amazing gfx get ppl killed if they dont have a high end gaming machine, I had many a guild mates that died in lag spike that occuried as a enemy faction got near.
i never had that problem and I think caught my fair share of me having someone mostly dead before they reacted to me being there at all.
Over all tho, more variety in gear, better crafting system. umm.. quests.. at least mission terminal like OLD style SWG. the fact there was maybe 3-4 choices for character models per gender per race.
I am "taking a break" from RF till they actually add something more to it. I just cant get myself to kill one mob for 6 months to get from 48-50 and as a x-class AR i get no real benifit other then new armor that does very little. I played it for a year, been gone 6 months. To this day only major differance from when I started to now,is the fact there is so low of population now they rolled all 5 servers into 1 big ball o lag.
It has alot of great Ideas, just CCR is spread to thin developing 7 versions of RF. Codemasters that hosts it are a great company I feel bad there getting so much flak over that game, when they have 0 control over it.

what i love about rf online is its sci fi theme..
also the big guns and swords!!
plus the option to ride mecha like robots or to be one like the accretians hehehe...
