I'd like to start a fun thread about your most embarrassing thing you've done because of an MMORPG.
I'll start
It was my first few weeks of playing everquest.I had met many new ppl and was enjoying my time playing very much.I was playing way to much to be honest,sometimes 7 or 8 hours a night and the next mornings at work I was really beginning to feel the effects.
Anyways
I had really started to pick up on the slang of the game,afk lol,brb,lfg,I knew it all.
One morning after playing a lil too much EQ, i dragged myself into work and was really tired.
I can clearly remember a co-worker saying something funny and everyone around chuckled ...
except for me
I remember instead of laughing I said this aloud "el -ol -el" pronouncing it of course for lol
Instead of laughing...
My face turned bright red cause I remember everyone was like looking at me funny for a long time.

I don't really have an embarassing MMORPG moment...all of mine have been, well...not embarassing.
Although this one time, in guild chat, this new guy was talking with us, and then he got all quiet. Then he started saying some really nasty stuff in guild chat a few minutes later. Turns out he was trying to cyber with someone, and he was in the wrong channel. It was so frikkin funny...
Of course, it's kind of hard to be embarassed in my guild...we've pretty much all known each other for years, and we're also a little on the mature side...conversation wise. Not much phases us anymore.
*edit* Just remembered, there was this one time. I was walking through the cafeteria with my lunch, and this guy walked into me (on accident) and knocked something off my tray. Real loud, without thinking, I said "WTF Noob?"
This past year, though, it was really fun...one of my classes had 13 kids in it, and 8 of us were PC gamers. 5 of us all played EQ. It was pretty interesting.

It's not really embarassing, but certainly a sign of EQ overdose.
A couple of years ago when I was playing EQ, I went to lunch with some friends from work. On the way there, we passed a jewelry store. On the marquee they had posted "Aquamarine Pendant, $100"
The first thought through my mind, I swear on Elvis' grave, was, "I wonder what the stats are on that?"
That was when I realized I'd been too long in Norrath!

Well I for one nearly wrecked my car over EQ, I had been marathoning for like 27 hours and my wife asked me to take her to dinner as she was feeling a little neglected. I told her of course I would and while driving to the restaraunt about 8pm ( almost dark) I swear I saw an orc come out from behind a building to attack us. I tried to run but it was too late he was on us in an instant. It ended up being a guy in a costume for a burger joint.
No I dont so any chemicals but sleep deprevation is not a good thing when driving and thinking about EQ

I drive down a road between two farms on my way home from work. They are just huge flat pieces of slightly rolling land.
One time on the way home, I was wondering why I couldn't find any giant spiders to attack and was looking out to make sure I didn't run into a Cyclops. This was after I had spent about 2 weeks levelling up in West Karana.
Recently I started playing a Pet owning class in a game. After playing for a few hours I would log off and start walking through the house. I'd find myself starting to look over my shoulder wondering where my Pet had wandered off to.
I miss my cat, Oreo.
Anyone have a Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest cat, or Bengal they'd like to send my way?
What I really want is a six-legged Treecat like Honor Harrington's Nimitz.

My most embarassing moment on a mmorpg had to be on StarWars Galaxies. It was back in January and I had "Master Tailor" above my head. Usually I dont do that as I would have been bombardment with requests.
One person ( a new guy started following me around) asking well..begging for clothes and money and stuff. I was really polite and when Im in game I always love to help new people. I honestly love to help people to get the best possible experience in any mmorpg and I love to give away money in game..I honestly do. But when someone begs non stop and wont quit and follows you around, I get tired.
Well he was messaging me through /tells (which are private chats). Eventually I started to talk to a guild member about stuff and then we started talking about the new guy and I said something along the lines of
"Well this little kid is getting on my freakin nerves. If he was TEFed I would lay the smack down on his sorry a$$. He wont leave me along and he wont stop following me...its like he doesnt have a life and in a mmorpg thats pretty sad."
Well, unknowing to me, this kid had just moments earlier replied to an earlier statement I made. If you know anything about SWG, if you type /r then the message, that message will automatically be sent to the last person who private messaged me
Well, I thought I my guildmate last messaged me...but it was this kid. lol, needless to say he got the whole message and sorta just walked away. Didnt yell at me or anything. I felt like poop. I bank wired him 50K and asked him to forgive me lol.
That was probably the most embarassing moment I had in a mmorg.

One of my older friends is going to therepy after playing EVE-Online to much, when he drives and has to stop at a stop light and then continues on he says "Warp Drive Active" or like Docking Sequense Under Way" when pulling into his drive way.

worst i remeber is being in one of those enchanter power lvl groups in DaoC, with 2 other healers and me, a bard, and a mana eldy or 2. thinking im in guild chat i said 'thank god there are 2 other healers here or they would realize i got only 1 in regrowth' in group chat
they were nice and just laughed.
other day on CoH we were in a group in the middle of a mission, and one guys says in group chat 'if you find a healer ill drop this team like a hot potato' hehe obviously mistel, he quit immediatly and ran toward the exit.
Ah, thats nothing. We have an elevator here at work. Whenever I get into it and the door closes, I always say something like "10-Forward" or "Bridge"... Just in case it works someday. I even do it if there are other people in the elevator. Only about 40 employees here in the building though, so we all know each other and they have all come to expect goofy crap like that out of me.
I even walked around the office all day once with an IC chip stuck to my shirt on my shoulder. I told everybody to "leave me alone today, because I have a chip on my shoulder".
Really, I do this stuff.

a new guy joined my guild on DAoC and he was talking non stop about utter bollocks, really getting on my nevers, he was pretty much flooding the chat with non sense. I messaged a fellow guilide and he was laso annoyed, i did not notice the new guy had sent a message to me, and when i press r i said sum it like
"Yer i know hes one of the most annoying people i have ever met on this game, hes maaking me want to kill my self"
and he replyed
" Is that me, ohhh thannks ect"
and i managed to convince him i was talkin about sum 1 else.
He was shortly booted from the guild.
i have the "lol" thing going on still and being a student having chat type abbreviations on your literary essays is not good
well nothing is annoying is for me but i talk in my dream, some say its rather scary and that they don't understand shit,
i was embarrassed when i dreamt of playing ac, and it was a regular hunt, cmon at least stay outta my dreams
Shit i'm bad... I self educated myself in ways of controlling feelings, now nothing feels like it's true... gotta be an assasin or sumtin.

The one i remember was about a year ago i was walking to the store on an afternoon. Before we got there, was an earthquake just powerful enough to shake us and i yelled out "LAG!" and my 4 gamer friends laughed their asses off while 2 of the girls with us looked at me funny.

was a few years back wasnt really bad for me but bad for this other guy my friend steve sold his 2 uo accounts on ebay at the time there was a keep and alarge 3 room house on the accounts, well the guy who payed nearly $1,500 for the accounts wasnt smart enought to change the passwords so one day just to try, i used the old acc info and i got in, so i took all the good items dropped the houses and deleted the characters
That's not embaressing that's just mean. lol
