CD Key Problems?!?!

Ok, i have almost everything done for installing DAoC. I entered my account and credit card and everything. Now it says "please enter your shrouded isles CD key" hmm.. I pick up my shrouded isles CD. right on the front it says "NO CD KEY NEEDED" well what the f*** is going on? I try to put in my original DAoC cd key, nope that doesn't work.

What do i do?

Hmmm...what was your original installation? Gold Box? Since you are reactivating an account, you should just run the program; insert the Gold Box Key where indicated and input your original account information at the log in page.

Actually i could not remember my last account so i'm starting a new account. And yes i had the gold box.

Gamespy or whoever ran out of CD keys for DAoC, so now the DL dosent have one. Gamespy (or whoever) is releaseing more but im not sure when/how. I recomend you buy the game lol.

I have the game. I bought the gold edition which includes DAoC and Shrouded Isles. And it still says "Please put in your shrouded isles CD Key" When on my CD it says "No CD key needed" and when i try the regular DAoC CD key it says it's already in use.

well that sucks a bit doesnt it, why dont you return to the store and tell them your problem, maybe that one didnt have a CD key on it.. Never know

All gold editions don't have CD keys for SI. My friend had the same thing too. He told me he entered his original CD key and it worked. But apparently mine is "In use".

I assume you bought it from a store, unopened and all that.

If the cd key on the vanilla DAoC disc doesn't work, then it's either a bad key, or someone got in the box, and used the key. Mythic will probably be a bit slow with the responses with the release of New Frontiers, but you might try taking it back to where you bought it, and making them replace it. If the try to blow you off, don't take any crap, just ask to speak with a manager. As long as you are polite, yet firm about them rectifying the problem, they'll usually replace the product for you. Like when I picked up AO, I got a refund two days later. When I bought ToA, it was missing the second disc. Back to store, and game replaced in as long as it took to grab a replacement..

Just in case there's no manager there, and you have some gangly clerk on a power trip trying to screw with you, just tell him if he doesn't replace it, you'll come back with a sledgehammer and a pack of wild dogs. ::::25:: Always works for me. ::::28::

I'm sure the box hasn't been opened because the game worked for me a while back... And i'd like to take it back to the store but i can't find the reciept

. Hopefully Mythic responds.

then you probably need a new CD key, once i quit everquest and when i tried to get back i needed a new CD key cause my old account was using it.. and i forgot it, woops

Yeah i suspect that's what the case is for DAoC as well. I used this on my older account, the game is uninstalled and my account was deactivated, but for some reason it still thinks it's in use.

Well i E-mailed Mythic (only 36 hours reply, you beat SWG by 10 days! lol) and they asked what my CD key was. If it appears to be valid (which it is) they will probably give me a new one my guess.

W00t! I was able to get back on my old account that had the activated SI expansion.

I play on the Merlin server and i have a 29 reaver with 460 Weapon Crafting. Not too shabby for a month of game time.

hehe the servers have been going down a lot, but so far i like it. Got a level up last night. Now i'm a lvl 30 reaver

. My goal is to get lvl 35 ish over the course of about 6 or 7 days. That's if the servers don't keep going down.

Yeah i'm working on it heh. I didn't have much time to play today but i'm trying to get lvl 32 by tomorrow easily... And possibly 33.
