I have always been thinking about playing Eve.. Just might get around to doing it.
Being a new MMODAD, I do find myself solo'n a lot more than grouping. Because of having an infant I never know when the little guy will wake up, which is when I usually get time to play since he is asleep. So a 1hour nap can easily turn into a 5mn nap, which is no good for your party members!!!
However, I do try to play early mornings before I go to work, but I find it hard to find groups then.. maybe my timezone is just not a big playtime at those hours.
As a father, I look for games that do not take many hours a day (every day) to get the feeling of accomplishment. MMODADS has compiled a list for you of the top 5 most “Dad Friendly” MMO’s currently out there.
What do we consider “Dad Friendly”?
A) A game that we can progress in at a reasonable time frame.
To be entertained.
C) A game that we do not have to invest insane amounts of time in.
D) And most importantly, a game that does not interfere with our family or work.
Please understand that we are not giving you a review of these games. We feel that you can do that on your own with a simple Google search. Our only goal here is to point Dads in the right direction as far as “Dad Friendly” MMO’s go so that you can research the right game for you.
Perhaps...
E) Themes and Gameplay aren't graphically intense and suggestive (Blood/Gore/etc).
Can you agree, as a dad, that the guy who doesn't have the benefit of been dad for any reason, could find fun in the same MMO to, for longer times?
1 orientation, dad-friendly, doesn't have to hunt down the geeks, does it?
There are many games for gamers who are not Dads. There are sites for girls, hardcore gamers and just about every other gaming group out there. There has never been a website devoted to Dads. So I made one.
On a slighty different subject, many people ask me why I did not make an MMOMOMS or an MMOPARENTS. The answer is very simple. If you go to any "parent" site, you will see that they are Mommy centric and leave the Dad's out for the most part. My site is not to make better gamers, it is to make better Fathers and to have a place for Fathers to go.
That is and always will be my main goal.
Now only if people can stop nit-picking what I didn't do and concentrate on the things I did do, I would be much happier.

Well, if you read the posts, you'd see it almost did.....
but me, I'd leave it off.... yeah, sure, you don't "have" to play it hardcore, as one person said, he's level 68 or something after 18 months... but that could be said of any game..... and I don't think the WOW's focus on end game raiding is really optional, you have to play it if you want the best gear, which in a game like WOW is the only real goal......
Contrast that to EVE...with some really casual play I can still fly a Battleship in 0.0 space in less than 6 months.... and be an effective tackler in 0.0 wars even less time...3 months or so.... and in effect, I'm playing in the end game (if EVE could really be considered to have one)......
No, IMO WOW doesn't really qualify...but the OP is more lenient than I so it would for sure be on the top 10 I suppose.....

Good point, and one that makes this topic more specific to MMODADs (or MMOPARENTs) rather than just MMOCASUALPLAYERs.
as much as people would like to flame on about this, WoW is a fantastic family choice.
oh..and I really agree 100% with EvE being in the list, however I think it should top the list

How is WoW not even on this list?
Heart is in the cards.
