My god I haven't seen this one either!  Thanks a bunch for posting this!

I always liked the concept of Conan, but the combat just seems so slow and static to me, I know that fighting is going to be more interactive, but the pacing seems too slugish, hopefully ranged weapons or duel weilding will be a bit (hopefully much) faster.

But the game as a whole sounds really good, so I have to give it a try.

Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit

Not too bad.  I hope they scrub up some of the animations and such, like hitting when you aren't even facing the enemy or what appeared to be repeated animations even when the character had died.  Just a bit of refinement... other than that, looks pretty interesting and fun to play.

A really good video, but still no images on female characters, drunken brawling  or spellweaving

They need to take the blood out of the game. It makes it look silly.  I would like to see blood in the game, but this blood just looks awful.

Most of the combat in the vids is with 2h weapons. I saw a video where someone had a dagger equipped and the combat looked a lot faster. They just want to give the effect of a big heavy weapon with those.

Google up some video's, because that combat seems like its not as finished as some of the combat I've seen.  Certainly doesn't showcase the cool stuff I've seen elsewhere.

I'm liking the slower combat animations. Shows that a guy holding a humongous claymore just can't swing it around like a kitchen buttering knife.

The game looks very nice imo. Can tell they have a looting animation bug atm but that will be fixed definitely before release.  All I have mainly seen though in the combat system is barbarian. Would love to see some mage classes(pref lich) and some ranged classes.

If they could just get rid of that damn foot slide it would look soooo much better.  Overall this looks much crisper and cleaner than what we've seen in the past, and it's nice to seem some variety with the weapons.

The camera seemed to rock back and forth when people were attacking and I'm not sure why that was.  It looked odd.  The combat looked much better.

I personally think that attacking shouldn't physically move you forward, and that they should attack while standing in one place.  Especially with CD in, since that causes most of the foot slide, but that's just my opinion.

Overall it looks like the game is coming together nicely.  Now I just demand PvP footage!!!!

I had a problem with this, in combination regarding animations being slow and sluggish.. posted a thread on it in here and someone eventually posted a developer quote about how they realized the public felt the combat looked too slow and as the game was still in beta.. they were reworking the pace of the combat, as well as other animations that were going to be redone.

Yah, the sliding and the queue'd attacks not canceling after combat are both pretty funny looking. I don't think its anything that is gamebreaking or something that they can't fix though.

I agree, the gore level is a little over the top. Also, I'd like to see some more reactions from the people being hit with a 20kg hammer

Other than that, I think it looks good, and even if all promises from FunCom aren't upheld at launch, it still looks worth playing....and if it isn't..hey..it's just what....$40? Hardly worth crying a river over unless you're under 18...which nobody should be here anyway...you pays your money, you takes your chances

Yeah, I've seen that but imho it was lag or glitches, the sort of stuff that is meant to get fixed within a beta. I doubt you'll see that in the actual game. On a sidenote, I would like to see controlled backthrusts, every melee movie has them and it would make for a cool finishing move.

As for combat; I like blood, but they shouldn't use it too excessively since it wears off the effect and feels somewhat 'arcadish'. They should save it for crits and well coordinated blows. The remainder of combat should be spiced up with stagger, parry and similar animations, leaving blood as the icing on the cake.

Thank you for posting the video. I haven't seen that one either. I think it's fantastic. The visuals are really stunning . Does anyone know if that footage is DX10 or is that still DX9? Anyway thanks again for posting , really looking forward to this one.

I definitely think the blood is a bit much.  Especially the spattering onto the camera effect.  It just feels really arcade-ish to me just like you said.

Maybe they're not sure how to make it mature without having buckets of blood, or they're just seeing what the limit to people's enjoyment vs. amount of blood is.

Whichever it is, this definitely needs some tweaking.  If nothing else they should just add a huge variety of finishing moves, and leave the blood for those.  Moves like knocking them down and stabbing your sword through them while they're on the ground, or cutting off a leg and then killing them afterwards.  Things that really add that "wow factor."

My suggestion is for the devs to play Punisher and Manhunt and Manhunt 2, and have some fun with the finishing moves.  A simple decapitation will lose it's flavor after seeing just a few times, but if there's some real creativity behind the finishing moves, they'll be more interesting for longer.

hmm, they really should tone down the blood effects... like someone else wrote before;  show these effects only when you're critting some one.  The combat animations definetely can use some tweaking too.  Everything else looked pretty good, i love the landscapes!

I loving the idea of a Conan game that isn't based off Schwarzenegger's movie. But still Warhammer Online seem more interesting then this.
