A steampunk MMO would be very cool and unlike any othere MMO.

A truly great Star Wars MMO by BioWare set 20 or so years AFTER the movies based on the Expanded Universe... so much story to go through
BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.
harry potter
heh
I said it a few years ago and I will say it agian, a Transformers MMORPG w/PVP.
I seriously would never leave the house and probably would quit my job and move into some cheap apartment that I could pay for with a part time job or something.... Ok maybe I would not go that far but it would be damn close.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
Weird Wild West Steampunk. Deadlands meets Brisco County Jr. meets Wild Wild West.
Indian shamans, gunfighters, mad scientists, steam-powered robots, and a crapload of zombies.
Good but what about a Victorean erra one set in London and the surrounding countryside with steam trains

1. Rifts MMORPG (If you don't agree then you just dont know =P)
2. KOTOR Online
3. Mechwarrior/Battletech
4. World of Darkness: vampires/werewolves (I hope CCP Games doesn't mess this one up)
5. Fallout Online or some other post apocalyptic game
6. Asherons's Call 3
7. Oblivion Online
A game based on the Belgariad and Follow up Malloean Series - Author David Eddings.
Is their really anything out there that's really "new"?
I would like to see an MMO out there that doesn't try to effectively "nerf" all of the classes to make them equal in PvP for crying out loud.
Developers must test ALL classes and understand completely what their capbilities are. Design the danged classes equal from the beginning darn it. NEVER and I mean NEVER nerf classes or races after the game has been released. TEST them and then TEST them again BEFORE you allow people in on any beta testing. Get classes and races corrected way before open beta releases and STOP all this neutralizing of abilities to make classes equal.
You see what PvP has done for the MMO games we have now...jeesh!
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth

1 - Samurai / Ninja w. a tad bit of fantasy
2 - World of Darkness
3 - I always thought Shadowrun would make a wicked setting for a MMO... so... cyber punk.
4 - Middle Ages w/ very little fantasy, like a little bit of magic, but very very rare.
5 - Dragonball Z (closet fan hehe)
6 - Forgotten Realms (oh, if only they could do it justice though)
I'm sure theres more, but I can't think right now.
1. Dune
2. Horror
3. Star Ocean
Grand Theft Auto, with gangs instead of guilds & a huge world. Choose a side of the law, clip up then prepare for some mayhem.
Night of the living dead, where dying matters (ie. you turn into a zombie). That way there'd be two planes of progression, undead hunter or living hunter.
Alien Vs. Predator could be good, maybe.
The Lego one I read about sounds promising.
I would like to see a full-on comedy MMO. One that satarizes the entire MMO market. Just like the "Scary Movie" films satarizes horror films. Or like "Epic Movie" or "Date Movie."
I'm ready for a serious MMO to take comedy serious. I'm ready to have a good time on the lighter side of gaming.

I would love to see a Roman era MMORPG with a complete sandbox feature. The game would be almost completely be run by the community, and then the devs could be the gods. The two choices of play could be barbarian/freeman or a roman, and thats where the PvP comes in.
Make it fairly realistic fighting.. not magic fireball pwnzor crap. Just like the real fights would be in life.. With a manual blocking, parry, and dodge system. (would have to be thought out and implemented correctly) When someone is struck with a spear or sword have fairly realistic damage, like maybe 3 shots in the chest to kill someone. Or 1 shot in the head. Hitting, hands or other small body parts could just cause something like running slower or not being able to hold a weapon in the injured hand.
Once a man is killed a random equiped item is dropped from his inventory as loot to the victor.
Make it a huge map with pretty far distances to get from one place to another.. That way people will know there is risk involved with dieing.
There is ABOSOLUTELY NO magic at all. No enchanted weapons. Just have normal weapons with differant qualities depending on your skill of making it or how much you payed for it. But there is no such thing as my sword does 15 damage, my spear does 8 damage. It all depends on where you aim and how you approach the attack. For example, thrusting a spear at someone and hitting them in a critical area (head or chest) has a chance of doing great damage, while slashing someone with a spear would usually do minimal damage as nothing sharp would hit them. Then with a sword, slashing or thrusting can work, although slashing could cause more damage. Usually more damage than a spear, but still not always, some of it is luck. And the other part is player skill, you can raise your shield to block the swing. Move backwards or sideways to dodge the attack. Endless possibilities can happen.
Make it so there are no levels in the game, you can train your character to be better at using something.. But there is always a chance you can lose. Lets say you have your spear skill trained so much you are an expert spearman, with a lot of luck, a complete noob still has a tiny chance of getting his kill.
Make differant things help you out in combat. Lets say you dont have armour or even a shirt on when you engage. If someone were to stab you, you have a much larger chance of bleeding to death than if you have something to resist the blow a little bit. Armour will help greatly, though you may still get damaged with it on. There is always a weaker or more revealing area on armour, for example, a helmet the face could be almost completely open, therefore if thats where someone aims and hits, it will have the same chance of doing a lot or just a little damage as if you werent wearing a helmet at all.
Make a great crafting system where people have to go out and mine the ore themselves, cut down the trees, get the branches and all the resources to build something you need. Dont make stuff 5 minutes simple to make, that way people will be careful about losing stuff in combat.
Make it so a guild can go out and start up a small town in the wilderness building one house/hut at a time. Taking a very long time to get a big town/city going. Nothing should be that easy to craft, especially a building. The more people working on it the faster it can be made. Thats how you wouldnt get those people who go out on their own and build a city in a week. It would involve a lot of teamwork to make something like that and would be something you can be very proud of in the end.
I dont really know how I can explain how they would implement crafting.. Ive just loved this idea of how combat could be put in and Ive yet to find a game with something like that. It would be my dream game.
