I would be grateful if you could help me out. I've allways wanted to try out this game but never had any spare time, but thanks for all the hard work i now got my vacation 
So my question is, does anyone got a spare trial / buddy key over?

Lineage 2 isn't a bad game. It can be alot of fun. But dying and losing xp really isn't something everyone enjoys in an mmorpg..lol.. It's got good realistic like graphics to it though. Shiny you can say. Just depends on what kindof graphics you want and what kindof play you want. Lineage 2 is a game where it's more so about grinding then anything. Click Click Click. It's a big grindfest game and if you die while grinding, you lose xp. It's easy to level up to the higher levels, then it takes FOREVER. When you reach a higher level though, it's so much more rewarding. Anyways, Goodluck, it's worth a try in my books. I played it for 2 years. I won't go back though, there's too many games out now or that are coming out soon, that beat it. Lineage 2's population has gone down alot too, however still has a decent population on the servers to play on. One good thing, the botting accounts sure have decreased alot. That's a good thing, seems like Lineage 2 is finally taking care of that problem. They use to have tons of bot trains running through the Dark Elf starter town...it use to be so annoying..lol now you never see them.
Anyways, Goodluck and I hope you enjoy it. If not, wait until Warhammer or another game comes out to your liking.
Not to mention also that after you play legit and level your character to a level that you can be proud of, the next thing that happens is that NCSOFT bans your ass for no reason whatsoever and accuses you of "using 3rd party software/advertising the use of 3rd party software" and its all over.
You can't contact their customer support other than through emails and they won't ever let you talk back to them. They will also *NEVER* explain to you why they banned you at all! If you want to go through customer support like this, go ahead and try the game out. But remember these words when you find that one day when you log in, you find yourself banned.

well maybe not everyone but NCSOFT seems to like to pick random LEGIT people out of the hat to ban. I've already linked to other cases of this happening, not to mention a lot of other cases that have never even seen the light of day.
This is a COMMON occurence. It is not "RARE". NCSOFT really doesn't care for their playerbase. They care less for people who play LEGIT. The just want to pull at your purse strings.
After 3 years of playing this game, I have never heard of someone legit who got banned, at least on my server.
So this is definately not something "common".
lol maybe you should hang out on blah more often. The people there might be crude but its definitely gives you a better idea how the community is really like. And don't even say you hang out at the official board because that place is a sham. EVERYTHING is censored there.

exactly! and yet THEY ARE STILL PLAYING!!! WTF? While NCSOFT bans legit players who have played honestly by the rules in this game for 3 years get banned without so much as an explanation.
Its not that this game is bad, hell I love this game. But its that NCSOFT, the people in charge of this game in NA is SCREWED UP. They don't care shit for their players and it show gaping in how they handle their customer support.
I mean how the hell do they make a mistke of banning LEGIT players who have been playing without cheating for 3 years and suddenly accuse them of cheating out of the blue? Thats messed up.
I have played Lineage 2 since release and so has my wife, the only people I myself or her has heard of where someone gets banned and they are accussed of using 3rd party programs are peopel that are in a group with a bot while they are afk leaching xp the bot is getting. I am so tired of reading post where people swear they are innocent, just becasue its not your program that is running but someone elses you are still benefiting from it and therefore breaking their policy.
As for wether or not you should try this game ,I receommend it highly , it is alot of fun and has great seige warfare, but take the 14 day free trial and judge for yourself .
I have a SOLID reputation in game. People who know me in game will never accuse me of botting because I never have. I have been with a small clan called StaticFire since the beginning of this game (they went through 1 name change though when our former clan leader stopped playing...she has also recently passed away due to an illness).
I was Rhasteed/Estenantu in game. I have NEVER cheated or ripped anyone off. I have been one of the more successful people who have played the market and have been able to "compete" with farmers just because I used my brain.
Last thing I was doing in game was sitting in Dion selling over enchanted D grade weapons for over a MONTH hardly even saying shit when I got banned out of the blue for supposedly using "3rd party software or advertising the use of it". How the hell did I use 3rd party software or advertise the use of it when I have been sitting on my ass in Dion for well over a month just to try and raise money for S grade equipment? I really don't get this bullshit system NCSOFT has of figuring who are botters or whatnot. They also DO NOT explain the reason for their ban. They just say "thats how it is so you better accept it." That is EXACTLY how they operate.
it may be true that a lot of people who get banned doing illegal stuff get banned and complain but there are many that are banned without having done anything illegal and they complain. When it happens to you, don't come running back on these boards and cry your tears out. After all YOU misplaced your faith in NCSOFT support.
Well Rha..... most folks in prison claim to be innocent, when they really aren't. But of course, mistakes are sometimes made and people have suffered horribly from it. (guy here in Florida did 22 years before they freed him on new DNA evidence).... so it shouldn't surprise anyone that maybe, just sometimes game companies make mistakes as well. Unfortunately, doesn't look like there is any real appeal system in place that you can address your complaint, so you're just sort of screwed.
Could happen to anyone in almost any game (one reason I was leary of the "subs for life" in LotRO) and all you can do is restart (which in L2 would be a horror) or play a new game.....
I know NC banned my two Lineage 1 accounts when I left the game because I sent out mail messages to all my friends (in-game) telling them that I was leaving to go play DAOC and invited them to come with.... (and I might have dropped a few on the ground around the mailboxes as well.)

Rha-El, it seems as though you have taken this forum away from the OP. Not a wise nor chivalrous thing to do. Please allow some of us to answer the OP's kind and simple question.
Now, Rah-El, I do understand that you are rather burned at this point. But, take heart, watch this refreshing video of the next big MMO from NCSoft and see if it brightens your spirit.

My apologies to the OP if he feels that I derailed his thread, but he did ask for opinions on this game and I gave him one. A very realistic one from the perspective of a veteran player of over 3 years that have been successful in the game (monetary wise - buy/sell) and have reached a level of 77 LEGIT. Something that other legit players will tell you is very hard to do.
I am simply relating that like myself if this player or any new player dedicated his time to leveling a character to the level that I have achieved and amassed a fortune in game, one day as he logs in, he will find that all gone just because NCSOFT gives a bullshit reason about him/her using "3rd party software or advertising the use of it". It has happened to me and other people (which I have since found out from testimonials) and it can happen to anyone.
Its like NCSOFT taking a machine gun and just shooting and hoping it kills a botter. Their reasoning is, if it kills a couple of innocent victims, hell thats acceptable casualty to them. WELL IT ISN'T TO ME.
I really can't play any more new games at this point...takes waay too much time. I would have prefer to just keep playing Lineage 2 on a casual basis as I have already put 3 years of my time into it. It is very disheartening and sad that after 3 years of playing by the rules and not breaking any EULA or TOS agreements, I was banned without even shown why.
This is what gets me about this gaming company. Their customer support truly is non-existant and they really do hold their customers in contempt. They only see the players as $$$ figures running around. It seems they don't really differenciate between LEGIT players and bot players. hell, I honestly think NCSOFT values the bot players more. I mean they literally have hundreds maybe even thousands of bots running around in game but they happen to ban a LEGIT players? I cannot, for the life of me, understand the reasoning or the utter stupidity or utter inability of NCSOFT to maintain their own game by their own rules.

L2 players know that NCsoft is full of it. Botting is commonplace, RMTing is out of control, and sometimes the wrong people get banned. We know this. We ALL know this. We deal with it. We play it anyways.
Your smear campaign (fueled by obsessive hatred) isn't helping you or anyone else. My advice to you is to take a deep breath, step away from the computer, and go smoke some grass or something, damn.
You see the thing you dont get is that what you see as my "obsessive hatred" will still make the impact that I am hoping it will make. I do this with a goal in mind. If i didn't have a goal, I'd agree with you that it would be "crazy" and "obsessive". But with a goal in mind, it becomes a purpose, a meaningful effort to a means to an end.
My effort here is not really to convince people who have been so jaded with playing this game and NCSOFT to quit, but to warn NEW players who will lose precious time and effort in trying a game that is already corrupt. After all, I believe a way to make NCSOFT hurt is to rob them of future growth and revenue. They are a business after all.
To the OP I do encourage you to go to lineage2.com and try out the free trail. It is a stunning game artistically, and the community generally has very helpful people, but you can't trust everyone of course, or even those that may pretend to help you. I have played this game for 3 years and it is great, some friends left but the core group that I play with is still here and while they are I will continue to play L2. You will see that the game can get you down, but it is your clan and/or friends that keep you up. I think L2 is one of the best online games just because it seems to take advantage of being online the most.
Don't let Rha scare you off. It is RARE, VERY RARE that a legit player will be banned. It does happen, as it does in all games, it is just that Rha seems to be hurt by it a lot (don't blame him, l2 is a game u eventually poor your blood and sweat into) and also has a large voice on forums, so he is heard...but maybe too much.
Anyway, L2 is great. It isn't for everyone. You have to like the "world", the people, and have to put up with NCsoft NA since they don't have much control over the game here, they are more or less a finger puppet of NCsoft S. Korea.
Also to Aly, Aion looks kickass! I have been following it for a while, and it may be the mmo that I will actually leave L2 for, especially if my friends go with me.
Don't get me wrong. I never said Lineage 2 the game was bad. I think its still a great game, one of the best I've played. But with NcSOFT NA managing it, they are killing it.
The fact is legit players do get banned. When they do, NCSOFT should have customer support there to address the issue and correct it. but NCSOFT DOES NOT HAVE ANY CUSTOMER SUPPORT. It is one of the worst customer support I have EVER dealt with.
I have tried calling them several times over the week and emailed them continuously for 3 weeks to get this problem solved or just wanting an explanation to why I was banned with the given reason of "using 3rd party software or advertising the use of it". All it would have taken is for a NCSOFT rep to care even a little to respond with an email back saying why I was banned and the reason why I was given that reason.
But you know what? After 3 weeks of trying to resolve this civily and getting absolutely nowhere except them basically telling me to "fuck off", I am here voicing my concern to new players and old players alike that NCSOFT as a company is killing this game they have not already killed it with their severe lack in marketting and advertising in the first place.
Lineage 2 is a fantastic game. NCSOFT is the poison thats killing it. Be very careful if you try this game and know that LEGIT players of 3 years can get banned without a reason given.
Congrats to Rha for hijacking another Lineage 2 thread. To the OP, go get the trial key on the official website, and enjoy the game. It is a good time to be a new player.
Like I said before, I didn't hijack this thread it is on topic. I gave the OP my honest opinion on the game after having played it LEGIT for 3 years. They should know ALL of what is to get involved with this game and this company, NCSOFT. If you can't handle the negatives of playing this game, I think your the one thats doing a diservice to the OP by not telling them the full picture.
