IM sure its great but wait till EQ2 comes out that will be the game to set another standard in MMORPG just like EQ started it all. From what i see and what i have researched EQ2 has more content and new features thann all the new MMORPGs coming out Combined.
EQ2 will set example to all these new mMORPgs coming out that nobody can mess with the king of all MMOPRGs that is.

We hear this with SWG and horizons .... They always treat new MMORPG's like the next Messajah and they should actually wait till the game comes out it ALWAYS looks better on site's then it actually is
Anyone remember Dark Ages? An old 2d mmorpg, though the game was VERY simple in gameplay the way that the community ran and did pretty much everything is something i want to see in more games. For example, to become a certain class (warrior, mage etc) you had to be guided by a more powerfull player, basically theyd help you become what you want to be. To learn a martial arts form as a monk you had to have another player as a trainer. There were religions where players ran the churches and spread their beliefs. Plus, everyone i met was friendly and role played!! I have NEVER seen a community like that since. A community like that would make most games closer to perfect.

LOL EQ2 somethin innovate? EQ2 is the same thing with new graphics. I´m not saying EQ2 will be a bad game, but there are lots of games with ten times more new features than EQ2.
Of course, a perfect MMORG for me is a game with level base classes and skill bases tradeskills. Huge map, with a nice PvP. A only server, to make a history evolve, with lots of unique monsters and, of course, siege weapons.
Btw, if you can pick a sheep, put it in a catapult, and catapult him to the castle, I´d buy the game!
A game like Motor City Online. But since that will never happen.... I want a game with..
A good PvP system, something that lets you PK to a "limit," and there aren't horrible penalties for it. And some kind of a duel system, where you can wager money against people in PvP, or GvG.
Pretty fast leveling, something I can max out in 2-3, or slightly more, months with playing about 5 hours a day.
More skill and class based than equipment based.
Good end game based on PvP, something like castle sieges, etc., and of course Pve raids, etc.
Very little death penalty! It seems the trend these days is to make the grind as slow as possible, with penalties everywhere to make it even slower. Maybe a small xp penalty, like 2% of the next level. And no item drop.
A BIG incentive to group. Not as big as FFXI, where you are forced to group, but maybe have it so XP and money can be twice as good in a good group, rather than soloing.
"Groups" of mobs. Something like I have seen in the alpha of guild wars. Where a group of mobs will attack you, and one may be a ranger, one a warrior, one a healer, etc.
Get skills every level. Many games I see you get a "group" of skills every 5 levels or so. I would rather those skills be spread out through levels. So instead of getting all your level 5 skills at level 5, you get some at level 1, some at level 2, etc.
OK graphcs, they don't have to be top of the line, gameplay is much more important.
There, I think thats pretty much everything. Alot of it is what Lineage II could have been, but they really messed up alot of things in that game(ie. PvP).
Maybe Dark and Light can do most of this. They seem to have something sort of like castle sieges, and something every level can participate in. it will be interesting to see how they handle PK, death penalties, how bad the grind is, etc.
I can deal with a long grind if there is lots of content along the way, but in most games there isn't.

The perfect MMORPG for me would be very close to what I hope EQ2 will be.
The key aspects that mean I would absolutly love the game would definitely include a fully immersive world, a range of activities that differ from button slamming combat. Combat itself would be made more tactical, no spamming headshot like in SWG. To kill the biggest monsters, you would need teamwork, tactics and honed skills. The skill system would have to allow individuality, so that players could 'choose' to follow the same paths, but dont have to. Good epic quests, with some amazing loot at the end of the hardest. I think one more thing that is very important, especially to me, is a great deal of diverse clothing and pretty useless, yet fun objects.
I am quite a role player and I love it when games encourage this. I understand that most people dont enjoy or understand roleplaying, but for me I have found the times that I have had some RP fun with friends have been times that have stuck out in my mind, as the fondest memories of that game. A great combat, crafting, PvP, Questing systems are all of course vital, as without them you dont actually have a game, but I think that to be an amazing game, it must feel like an extremely rich and diverse realm, with things constantly happening around you just waiting for you to dive in and participate.

Fully open PvP (like old school UO)
A *real* economy
Meaningful leveling (skill based, with a level system that allows for just a BIT more customization and uniqueness)
No more color coded monster level staircase BULL.
