man something telling me there will be more people in war on roleplaying servers then non roleplaying servers, that everyone wants be orc in war and talk like one because there cool so, is there even a point on making a non roleplaying in war because rp is just going be huge in this game wat you guys think?

Hmm I always thought that RP servers = restricted PvP, and if that be the case, then I doubt there will be any RP servers, as this game is based on RvR,
but on another note: if roleplaying a warhammer char is what you really want to do, all you need is a full PvP server, as all any chars in the WH world want to do is whoop the enemies arse! so in a sense all servers will be RP.
RP 4 noobs :P Go play LotRO instead!
uh...ill be RPing and iv been into MMO since UO. SO I guess im a newb :P. But rp does not mean restricted PvP at all...I dont see how that will happen since the game is pvp driven.
I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad, The dreams in which I'm dieing are the best I've ever had.
I forsee 1 guy talking like an orc..and everyone else in vent...though it would be kinda fun to run around talking like an orc for a little while.

Don't worry about the RP farce, most people join a rp server to "not" role play (true story). In Vanguard, most of the role playing clans stuck so far under each others asses you didn't even know they existed on the servers and only knew of the "cranky ole hermit" who didn't wanna be bothered by the LAWLS and OMGs in OOC all the time/shrugs.
The good thing though is most of the take overs by Chaos will be easy as most only knew how to put you on there "ignore" list instead of dueling/PvPing you.
I belong to Shadowclan who has role-played Orcs (Kobolds in DAOC) in multiple games since UO. I suspect they'll be present in WAR as well. We actually have our own language developed which is required at all times while in game.
But...I'm not sure how voice communications fits into the picture..... its one thing to type "Ug dir lat pinki's, mih hav nub lub mit duh" (translated to 'Hello to you humans, I have no love you') and to attempt to actually speak like that. (Also, as part of the lore we were not allowed to type with the letter 'c' either.)
As someone mentioned, RP actually is more fun on a FFA PVP server, we used to only permit Orcs (or Kobolds) into the clan and we would kill anyone who wasn't a member of SC. There were some limitations and proviso's....and we loved collecting 'tribuut' (ransom) from people to let them live.
Anywho...I think voice chat sort of reduces role playing options so I suspect we'll see less RP in WAR... .not more.....

I started off online games as a hardcore roleplayer, playing text muds like gemstone 3. Honestly they were probably the most fun I ever had outside of pen and paper d&d. Once I moved to DAOC and on to other games, I realized that I would never have the same roleplay as I did in the text muds. Too many shiny graphics, and too big of a non roleplaying player base. In games like GS3(now GS4) the few people who weren't roleplayers were pretty much like extras in a movie. They provided moving background, but no real interference.
It became a lot harder to get into roleplay on the graphical games though. Although its fun to run around talking like a dwarf, etc. and so on, it just lost its appeal. I blame it on chat boxes.
Anyway....now I prefer to have fun leveling my characters up pvp'ing. Pve is fun, as long as there's a pvp element to go with it. What can I say...graphics spoiled me.

Most people i know talk like orcs in real life, i guess i need to find nicer friends. As fro RP... they should ban rp'ers, the ruin game immersion. I just wanna get a little one on one action, i little blood and a little pain.. but they can stick the roleplayers on a raft set it out to sea and sink it for all i care.

Forget the raft... you folks need a whole mental home to yourselves. They need to introduce an idiot server.. invent your own language.. lol.

RP doesn't have anything to do with the conflict between PvPers and PvEers - though the most successful RP guilds I've ever run across existed on PvP servers. RP tends to flourish under open PvP (FFA) rules better than it does under PvE rulesets - under PvE rulesets, non-RP leetboyz can walk up, dance around and mock RPers happily secure in the knowledge that their only resort is to ignore him or move. Under FFA, the RPers are no longer powerless to respond, and the troublemaker is generally sent off into whatever death event is appropriate while the RP group gets back to their activity.
Well, you do know that using that language in WAR would be bad RP actually? Since the Warhammer Orcs already have an official language. Just like the Warcraft Orcs speak normal speech (as a hint on how a race speaks, just read the NPC dialogues), Warhammer Orcs would probably say something like: "Eh hummies, I'z not lov'n ya" or somesuch (I'm german, so thinking about english accents is hard ^_^)
And it is officially stated that WAR will have normal and RP Servers. FFA Servers don't work because the game would have to be substantially changed, but I CAN imagine a No-Safe-Zone Server, where PvE Zones (apart from Cities/Outposts) are made PvP Zones, too.
I really hope they will have RP servers. I don't RP that much, but I hate ppl running around . "I be the r0xx0r dood nr 1!"
and then seeing player names like. "YoMomma" "Coyoteateyourbabie" "Conan231"
And overall with an RP server you get a bit more of the older crowd that usually gives a better atmosphere to play in.
