in Final Fantasy XI

I saw in a screen that you could ride Chocobos......but I also heard from a few friends and people that once you can access the chocobos you cna only ride them for a set time????

if so that is kinnda dumb.....I mean if you rent them you should be able to rent them for so long...

I mena a friend of mine i was watching him play and he rented one for 375 gold......but I mean why pay so much for only a set time to ride....

does anyone even think that is worth the money

    Alright. Riding Chocobos is a GREAT way of getting around. You can rid them for 30 minutes when you get it. And when you level another job to 15 you can rent a Chocobo for 15 minutes. Beileve me it helps you alot in you game. You cant be attacked when riding a Chocobo and you can even go digging for items if you have the stuff to feed it. Chocobo prices vary frm nation to nation and from time to time. Ive bought one for 77 gil in Kazham and 475 in Jeuno.

    Well, in jeuno the prices are that high because jeuno has high taxes and that JPs buy a lot during JP peaktimes. (I've seen 982~.) Therefore the price of getting a chocobo is high compared to other citys like Kazham and Bastok where thier taxes are low. Actually I've heard that you can attacked by a monster while on chocobo but I'm not sure. And you can ride longer if you have the riding gear. (The whole set gives like 70~ more minutes but I'm not sure.) But thats not worth it.

    Yes, it's worth it. If your a lvl 40+ you'll be riding to the lvling area on a chocobo. At lvl 56~ 500 gil is like pocket change.

    However I don't get why the crags are more costly then Jeuno anyone know?

    yeah the only thing i have a problem with the chocos is having to find a stable to get one... it would be nice to ride up to a battle zone.. dismount and tie up the choco, and then after a few hrs lvling get back on it and ride back to town.

    Or at least a way to order a choco to come to you once you have finished fighting. It sucks when ur fighting near a place without stables.

    All in all.. Choco's rule... even the one i had to play 700gil for..

    Chocobo musix rocks, but it stops playing it after a while :( thats the only problem i have with em. I mean, u can ride the thing forever, and the fee isn't that much, i know, being a WHM a chocobo is a godsend getting to places becuz of the no aggro. Even if it did take 6 hours to do the quest, no getting aggroed, and not taking an hour to get through la theine is worth every last bit of that gill.
