Trueist form and NAVCOM

As you all know who play starport, it takes time to acquire experience. When you first start out in a new game, you are wery of venturing out too far too soon, because of your lack of shields and weaponry. It makes perfect sense to stay around UN space until you have built up enough money to get a better ship. But what happens when you do finally get a better ship? you venture out to see the galaxy. you go 2 or 3 systems beyond UN space and ....BOOM!! you're faced against 3 Sethdar cruisers. you try to run, but they follow you, as if to take a limb or two away from you. You try to make a stand, but they fire some pretty tough weapons at you, and you die within 4 or 5 hits. You say to yourself, "Man that sucks".

It would probly be better if low level NPCs were closer to sol than higher level ones. The higher level ones should stay placed on the outer rim of the galaxy, hence the saying "if you feel froggy...jump".

this would give first time or inexperienced players time to adjust to the game and tactics of playing.

Another thing I see when playing that discourages me from venturing out to far is, warping into a system with 8,12,20 NPCs clustered around the jump point. Whats up with that? I like a good fight as much as the next person, but 20 vs. 1? if it was 20 merchant cruisers, no problem, but theres a mix of ships in that cluster and usually a IG ship is leading the way. come on now, show some gusto in the game, but keep the habeneros to a minimum.

One more thing,....Is this a space game or bumper pool? i can see if i was controlling the direction of the ship, speed, and navigation, when going 10 jumps to another system, and bumping into every planet, rock and pebble, But not on auto pilot? If you have your ship going 10 or more jumps through the galaxy, it should be able to fly over the obstacles and not go out of its way to hit every single dust particle. Send the auto-pilot to "Daffy Ducks Intersteller Driving School".

I have to agree with this suggestion totally.  I've just started playing and was shocked when, after leaving UN space, I was jumped by 5 NPCs, all of them gunning for me.

It would make a lot more sense to have lower level NPCs around UN controlled space and higher level NPCs out on the "frontier" of space.  This way, people will know what to expect when they start venturing out and exploring the galaxy and not have to worry about being jumped by a fleet of high level NPCs just outside of UN space.

I have not experienced this at all.  The first thing I do is head for the other side of the galaxy, stopping at ports that are along the way.  I will look on the Galaxy Map for the starbases and will set autopilot to head to one.  If there are NPC's in one of the systems the autopilot gets me out of there as quickly as possible.
