Something i will never understand abotu EQ and SOE

1. The number of people that want a old school EQ server is higher then the population of EQ itsself.

2. There have been many petitions etc that want a server that is pre POP or Pre luclin.

3. The progression server was VERY successful and only died off after POP became unlocked and people were unlocking expansions real fast.

4. You can still keep normal EQ like today for people who like it as it is and you can make a old school server you have more subscriptions and more money comming in. You can still make xpacs for both versions. You can keep expanding and making xpacs for a old school EQ server but way different then what it is today.

 

So if all these people want it and progression server was so successful why hasnt a perma old school server been released yet?

    Money.  The people will eventually leave that server if there are no updates; and to update it will be a hastle because you need a whole new design, and go a different way.  In an effect you would be make a whole new game.  Ontop of this EQs graphics are dated, and it doesn't have enough subscribers to support dual support of the same game.

    This has already proven alot of people would come back and resub to play a oldschool server.

    I want the real old school with the old UI. Then I would try the game again. I wouldn't really care if they left that server as is and ever updated.

    I'd pay a huge premium to play on a classic server (or a Progression server which releases the expansions a lot slower than the last one).   Come on SOE, I want to give you money.

    Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

    soe has TWO games in this exact situation. makes ya kinda wonder what it'll actually take for them to get the point.

    I want an old school vanguard server.

    I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
