Okay, so a lot of people are calling Linkin Park emo music.What do you think?

I'm not voting because it'll give me cancer or some kind a testicle disease (i don't yet have).
I will tell you this, their music is so crappy that even emo won't touch it.
It's like rap/wannabe meta/crap rock and a splash of complete teenage (my mommy didn't buy me a bmw or care that I didn't make the cheerleading squad pity me) angst that I can honestly say...
Why the hell do you care?
The thing is that we all have different ways of applying such labels.
I can certainly see why one would label LP as emo, they do after all sing about emotions and problems and whatnot. However, to me, they will never be emo because they don't scream (that often), don't have that emo hairstyle, and make good (imo) music.
I never really paid much attention to them... not my sort of band... but I went and listened to a few of their tracks. Most of it sounded nu metal, industrial rap sort of stuff but some of their lastest pieces really sounded pretty Emo to me.
I voted don't care. If I want to listen to LP, MCR (which I don't anyway), Mushroomhead, In Flames, From Autumn to Ashes, or It Dies today I will listen to it. Doesn't matter what the "type" of music it is. If I like it I like it heh.
But I don't like rap.... what ever

They don't sound emo, or look emo. They're a rap-rock group, and the only one of those that I'd call emo is Hollywood Undead.

Their newest CD was horrible, even worse than that stupidass CD they did with JayC or whoever.
Ill put it to you this way, their first CD was Jefferson Airplane, 2nd was Jefferson Starship, 3rd with JayC was Starship, and their newest CD is Jefferson Starship The Next Generation.

Why worry over classifications of music, I really only put music into one of two types, music I like and music I don't like, needless to say I don't pay attention to the music I don't like category, where it just so happens Linkin Park is.

Hehe... I've been seeing your posts a lot lately and have come to the conclusion that you make the world more interesting.

Yeah I got stuck doing stuff for a long time...and boy was it muddy...really muddy. People unless you come from peru, stay the hell away.It's simply the most wettest, muckiest place I've ever been to, though I do admit they have some killer smoke.

Thats one of the only things I've ever heard from you that sounded ignorant man.
Their song writers are mostly black, and I believe they've shifted with black artists multiple times. Enima (can't help it) he's white boy rap, those guys are just chumpy.
well as it stands out of newer bands the only bands that i like the whole cd of is nickelback, LP, toby keith, anything by henry rollins.
i like the new LP record alot cause of the differant tracks and other side of the band showing there differant abilities beside rap rock. mike the person who got LP together is independantly wealthy. so if you ever see them there very humble and gracious to there fans unlike alot of other bands who couldnt give two sh.t.. they are one of like three bands i ever want to see inconcert. reason why they appriciate there fans and play to the crowd.
i am a fan actually my wife got me into the group she a hardcore fan. so its not like metallica where there only in it for the money.
the groups i would like to see in concert are LP, toby keith, and the all mighy tool.
They are a mixture....that's all I can say. Has a little emo, little hip-hop/rap, little rock, altertnative(?).

What I do not understand. Is how a different band with a different lead singer and a different sound can call themselves the same band.
I liked the stuff with fred durst better.
Did you hear linkin park with fred durst do sanitorium at the metallica icon mtv performance? it was a damn good show.
This new linnkin park is just another forgettable band.
Edit: to me it is just as sinfull as metallica continuing without cliff burton and still calling themselves mettalica.
