And yes, its a pity since classes, races and some stuff is really good. But... I went back to my Monk. And died. And lost XP to corpse runs. And lost money to repair. Bah, I am so pissed just again, playing hours and the result was more loss than gain, because out of the blue where ALWAYS 2 dots had spawned, suddenly a 3 dot did - and killed me. In that blasted RaJin castle. Again. Where I ALWAYS HAD SENSELESSLY DIED. Gawd I am so mad, this retarded castle is STILL THERE. Really, this entire mechaics are FUKKING STUPID. I gained a few coppers with hours of grinding and lost 3 silver for the death and all the XP of the day. Thanks for wasting my time. Oh and the "FPS has increased myth": its a lie. I had 5-15 FPS in that Kojan area, where ALL OVER THE REGION 12 other poeople were playing. Since I knew some'd call me a liar on the FPS thing I made a screenie. Its 10 minutes old. The skill to know where the save spots are (which many, many, much to many dont have nowadays) is needed. You are the Ninja infiltrating the enemies castle. What do you expect ? Banners with "Welcome Elikal" on it ? The castle is one of the best places ingame. Ever done the quest "on the roofs" ? Where you are flying from rooftop to rooftop, like in those kung Fu movies ? A lot is crap in this game, but actually the Ra'Jin castle is triple A content
Guys here is my advice. If you are an unskilled rush@raid gamer, then dont bother to play vanguard. You can duo 4 dot dungeons if you have the skill. Which is awesome and exiting. Every single move is brainwork and 100% teamplay with your partner. But you need to have skill to know where the save spots are, how to move through spawns and how to assist and control damage and aggro.
Go play your rusher games. Maybe, some day you have learned your lessons and will be able to deliver what is needed to survive the ez-mode content in vanguard.

The average FPS was 5-15, in open space up to 20. It is a stutter
For me that isnt playable. I maybe spoilt but over 30 FPS is my preferred "speed" with lowering quality if I dont get that. I found VG to have the same benchmark on my older box.
This would really make any game play mechnic annoy the crap out of me. Hardcore or lame mechanics.
30 FPS is considered the mark, go below that and the game becomes unplayable.
You don't need 100+ FPS just those 30+ FPS because the human eye can not tell the difference.
i dont mean this to be rude or blame the player on problems with the game, because the game has way too many problems for me at the moment. i think it is a good game but performance is so bad it just frustrates me so i am waiting another month before i start back up.
but i think the poster that questioned the way you play that castle had a point. ok blame the game for many things, but not because you didn't know when to quit your corpse run. dont get me wrong you may be like me and just not accept that you can't get it back. lol i have lost so much exp in the past due to this. but i kind of go more for the sneak aproach and take it as a challenge. i too had trouble in that castle dieing on the way up the stairs inside the main building to the boss mob. i had to sneak all the way back to the building and then try to get up the stairs without being seen. if youve been there youll know how difficult that can be. i died 3 times but got my body back. then tried to solo the boss mob and his 2 guards. after that i realised i would not be able to get back and get my body so i summoned (yes of course he tore me apart haha)
the point is i failed that challenge. so i levelled 2 levels went back and soloed the main building. challenge complete. if i had been there and died got my body and soloed the whole place i would have thought to myself " that was just too easy and ill never go back"
this is no attack on the OP as i dont know the facts about how you tried to get your body back. i just hope that you tried like i did and didn't just try the gung ho aproach and get it back in 5 mins, then complain when it went wrong.
if i got it wrong i apologise and feel for you friend. i admit though i am no hater of VG and will be honest in the fact that i try to play through most problems with the game, and yes i even try to talk other people into playing the game by hiding these facts sometimes.
i really hope this game picks up as i do enjoy it.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your return to VG, sounds like a rough bit of adventuring.
However, declaring FPS increase as a myth is not true and misleading. I think the majority of players have experience FPS increase from slight to significant. This is very apparent just looking at the boards and watching Regionsay in game. In addition, UseEfficientTextures=True has made a night and day difference for certain rigs. I believe this setting will be defaulted to true in the next patch.
Personally, my FPS has increased significantly. I've monitored this closely in every type of play situation. In the absolute, worst full group, bunch mobs, low performance areas with spell effects everywhere, I've gone from 7fps to 12fps on average. Not good, but then again, I refuse to turn eye-candy off or down. Cities have gone from 15 fps to 25 fps, very nice. I think UseEfficientTextures=True had a big, big impact on cities. Finally, riding in open land with nobody around has gone from about 70 to 80 fps.
Some of it is game improvements, some are newer drivers for my 8800.
OP... the FPS gain is not a lie. It's there. +1 fps is still a gain
Also... sure, nothing is happening atm with VG, but it still an interesting game. Too bad it seems to be on "halt" until after they figure out the whole server merge thing.

Hehe yup i was Can you post your spec's. sure...4400+ X2, 7950GT/512/X-fi Elite, near 4gb ram not a reall highend machine anymore, seemed i had a bad ram stick in my system a few months back which had to be replaced ..doh...and that improved allot not only Vanguard but more SWG as before SWG seemed like it hadn't improved performance wise until i replaced the memory banks with new ones..well since then completly back at the game i once loved at pre-cu but have hated due to all changes made for a long time untill recently, seemed the changes arn't really that bad tho i wished they where at some point in time .... Maybe we'll all buy identical kit to you just to play ( sarscam) I saw the sarcasm ......but still i wish it was that simple where we could buy just a similiar rig and play it decent, but hey SOE is working on it and they seem to be doing pretty okay for it, i'm not expecting miricles as i still don't feel someone who might have a low spec system should be able to run the game as like with all games not everyone can max out games all the time. And little side-note Graw2 is sortof already showing me its about time to start upgrading
