Seriously, what went wrong? Why couldn't they just fix the dang bugs instead changing the game 50 times. Honestly, does anyone know? I'm so curious.

    There wasn't enough subs and LA wanted a bigger result for a large IP. (Although, thats the rumor)



    Noone really knows why they updated the game but rumor is;



    LA wanted them too

    They wanted to appeal to a broader audience

    In the old game they said there was too much reading etc

    Have you played swg? Its a total joke.  It use to at least be worth playing, but now? Who'd invest time in that mmo? There is gotta be something wrong with you if swg is your idea of a good game.  So much stuff just doesn't work.  There is like 10 people who regularly play.  Its a joke man.  Just play something else.  There is tons of better mmo's then swg.  Pick anyone of them Save Vanjoke, MxO, EQ or any soe title.  You'll be fine and have a good time.

    * Combat- still looks like a tribute to benny hill, Lag is worse now than day 1 launch( an then you have over 200+ standing in one area) this lag is due to the methhead combat. Combat also now is a joke and a bad FPS wanna be.

    * The completely copied Talent system from WoW

    * No skill points or professions to choose from

    * Lack of a player base on 90% of the servers

    * Jedi being a starter profession

    * Game changes constantly for good or bad ,mostly bad IMO.

    * Game lacks depth and choices

    * level system is the same vanilla crap in every game out.

    * Removal of the MAJORITY of the player base..A trend SoE specializes in.

    * removal of the animation system

    Nothing short of a complete removal of the NGE will matter to most here. I personally dont care what they add back till they remove all of the NGE. Heck id start all over again to have the old broke unbalanced game back.

    NGE is the result of Sony revamping a game they don't even play.

    i agree...they should have concentrated on fixing the old game ... but LA got greedy and wanted a more simplified game to appeal to the younger audience (my opinion)

    They pretty much admitted at the time of the NGE that they were willing to risk their current player base (the bird in the hand) for a younger player base that was larger (the bird in the bush).

    Nancy McIntyre came right out and said they wanted a game that didn't require much thought or effort to play, and, viola, we've got the pseudo-WoW NGE right in front of us, with dumbed down combat, emphasis on phat lootz, crippling of crafting, and instant gratification in the form of pale imitations of Jedi for the masses.

    CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

    The sad thing is, it has the 'Star Wars' tag associated with it.  If it weren't for that, nobody would play the POS game anymore.

    What a mess.  Too many changes.

    Can't disagree.  Putting "Star Wars" on a box insures some sales, regardless of the crap inside.

    Lucas Arts has been running on this strategy for years now.

    Actually Ryzom's crafting/harvest system is better than SWG, though swg has a better one than most other mmo's out there.  Nothing special about swg looting though.   Ryzom's loot is parts of what you killed, which you can then craft (i.e most items are player made, not carried around by giant spiders)

    Too much drugs and booze?

    A chemical inbalance?

    Not hititng the sweet spot with their meds, too much or not enough?

    People in posision of authority played/liked WoW instead of SWG?

    A secret agenda to tank the game and collect unemployment for an extended vacation?

    They're gibbering idiots?

     

    Who know's, it's one of the biggest MMO mysteries out there. How do you take a game with so much potential and totally screw it up while pissing off almost your entire playerbase?

    I don't know the answer either but it's the results that count I suppose.

    SWG crafting and resource systems were the best, damn right.

     

    6.00PM - Get home from work. Ignore need for food. Must pay harvester/factory/house maintenance. Take speeder bike from house to harvester farm, feed all 25 large harvesters. 3million credits. Ride home, feed my 6 factories and my house. Ignore mounting /tells.

     

    6.45PM - get dinner

     

    7.00PM - Settle in and start addressing /tells. Book appointments with various customers for custom made weapons.

     

    9.30PM - Finish up with custom jobs, and reload new schematics into factories. Check stock on all vendors. Check resource levels on top 45 resources. Contact rare resource suppliers. Barter/Buy.

     

    11.30PM - Do planet by planet resource check. mark locations of new/finishing resources, and plant harvesters where necessary.

     

    1.00Am - Go to bed, have to work in the morning.

     

    Being Master Weaponsmith/Master Merchant was a full time job that kept every single minute of my time logged in busy to the brim, but I loved and cherished every moment.
