My comp is getting to slow for good mmorpg's, so i am looking for an affordable laptop that can take any game, you don't need to give me any details, just say names and i'll look them up later.

Cheap and Gaming Laptops never goes in the same sentence.
Don't get a laptop... if it breaks or it gets old you're SOL.
Just learn to carry a desktop around. Takes abit more packing and lifting but totally worth it!!!
It's not even as heavy as the days when me and my friends used to lug around CRTs that were like 90+lbs to each other's houses for LANs!!!

You will never find a laptop that can run any game. My laptop is the best on the market atm and can ruin AoC only on minimum settings
As he said... it just don't work too well together. I have an Alienware. FAR from cheap but definetly powerfull.
MMORPGs aren't really meant to be played on a laptop. Infact most PC games aren't since you can only operate them for a few hours at a time due to heat, it's mobility only goes so far especially for internet based games, and its atleast twice as much as a similiar PC.
However, if you are dead set on a laptop. I suggest getting a Toshiba, Vaio, or Asus. Toshiba and Vaio because they have the history in laptops that probably gives them better knowledge of whats needed. Asus because its a motherboard manufacturer, they have alot more tech inside for a better price. You would be looking to spend ~$1300 on a laptop that can play mmos, and probably in the upwards of $2000 to play most mmos. Unfortunetly there is no build it yourself option and laptops offer little upgrade-ability.
Amen.... remember those 80286 XT CPUs that are like 20 pounds a piece. It builds muscles and character as you lug them around.
Now it depends on your definition of cheap... a gaming laptop that can run most current modern games with decent speed would cost you around $2000-2500, a cutting edge quad core top of the line gaming laptop with liquid cooling can go for around $3500-$5000 bucks. Let's face it, for any serious gamer, laptops just aren't the best choice for gaming due to the small screen and smallish keyboard (esp if you have fat fingers) and lower raw cpu power capability than a desktop.

I remember watching my mom come in and laughing at us killing each other in Grand Theft Auto... there were 8 of us daisy chained together through serial ports. Now parents sue.

With LanBoxes and MicroITX, MicroATX and other variants of small motherboards. You can build a relatively light system, like 20 lbs or less for around ~$500 that can play any game out today.
I bought a Sager 5670 from www.powernotebooks.com for about 1800 2 months ago, they have new ones out also. Only laptop I could find at a reasonable price that came with a heavy duty graphics card, 2 gigs, good processor and a nice screen resolution.
laptops are not cheap my dude especially one for games

Can you post a link to these watercooled laptops, i would really like to see what they're like.
Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and consciencious stupidity.
i'm pretty confident you can get a capable laptop for $1500 that can run any current mmo at max settings.
check out the new dell inspiron 1520, sager 2090, or asus g1s. for the money, you are getting a very nice gaming machine if you check any of those out. the asus is a few hundred more dollars than the other 2
all of these computers should be able to run upcoming games well on at least medium settings, probably higher
but if by cheap you mean under $1000, i think you're in trouble
check out powernotebooks.com - i just ordered a sager 2090 from there
PC games not meant to be played on laptops? I beg to differ. My laptop will happily run any game on the market right now, at max or near-max settings to boot. While it's true that overheating can be an issue, i fixed that with a $30 platform fan that allows me to play into the wee hours of the morning and beyond, and my system barely gets warm. Also, these days laptops are much more customizable (i chose every component in mine personally) and upgradable. Not so much as a PC true, but still, the options are there. As for price, yeah it's a kick in the balls when you purchase these things (mine was $3450). My system is alot of fun and it definitely kicks ass, but in retrospect i don't really think the portability is worth the extra cash, i probably coulda bought the same system on a PC for around $2200. But oh well, hindsight is 20/20. Just my 2 cents
Just had a leaflet with a gaming laptop on it. It was an offer you can't refuse, I really wish I'd have the money. 800 euro (approximately 950 dollars) and you'd have the best gaming laptop you could ever imagine, if you want more information simply PM me and I could give you more information.

I would look at the new Asus Gs1 or Gs2, both can be configured with Dx10 capable GPU's. A family member has the GS2 with the 8600GT card, they are seeing good FPS in most games at a mid to high lvl game setting.
