I have a desk top and a lap top, and both come with there restrictions. Mostly, sense I got my laptop I have been gaming on it. Its a dual core processor running both at 2.0ghz, has 2 gigs of RAM and a 7300 Nvidia I believe. My desktop on the other hand, is a single processor running at 2.6ghz, 1 gig of RAM and a 6500 Nvidia. Now I wonder which is best for this game for the desktop...I can always buy a new video card where as my lap top I don't even think thats possible. But, with my desktop...its maxed at 1gig of RAM. So for this specific game, is a better card better than more RAM? I would think so but I believe both my video cards are ok but if yall have some advice that would really help, thank you.

What are you trying to ask? If you desktop can play oblivion it can play AoC if your lappy can play Oblivion it can play AoC.
If you are asking which pc would be Better to run AoC, that would be hard to say. if you use your PC i would DEFINATLY upgrade your ram and possibly your vid card (not needed though). As for your laptop i have a similar machine (2.2gig AMD x2 Turion, 2 gig ram, Radeon x1900) (played Vanguard with it) and in terms of power the laptop would be better, howerver even with a cooling bay my MCI clone ran HHOOTT. (slap yourself now if you are even considering running the game on battery LOL). As you may know when a computer gets hot it slows down, ALSO it may significatnly reduce the life of you lappy. i would strongly recomend using yoru Desttop with some ram upgrades.
unless I am mistaken, you should be able to upgrade the RAM in your desktop by replacing with the correct sticks. I will leave finding the type of RAM up to you. If you upgrade your PC, get either an ATI x1950pro card (or a 1900 line card if that is a bit pricey) or a 8800GTS 320MB version (more pricey than the ATI card, but much better performance).
Currently, your best bet for playing AoC is your laptop. You will be stuck on low, but it should run better than your PC. You could get a cooling pad or a similar device for your laptop, this would help to deal with the heat generated by its use.
