LOL, the person reporting you must have been a real douchebag. Not only are they begging for money ...after being told to fuck off they have the audacity of reporting you?

You're lucky it's only a 3 hour ban on the WoW forums. Btw that is marked as a minor offense against your wow account permanently, let's say you do something again in the future that merits a serous warning, they would look at your record and see that you have previous infractions, that would weight against you and you'd probably get a perma ban on the wow forums.

Wow forums has a serious policy against saying banned words (you can insult someone as long as you don't use offensive words) since the forum has a built in bad language filter, trying to circumvent that will get you a temporary ban.

No, the policy allows anyone to use the system to report people who violate the rules. You're actually not allowed to use 'WTF', or any other form of masked profanity. You can think your clever by saying "Well all I said was 'F U', that's an acronym for many things! I wasn't really cursing!" but people aren't stupid, and the GMs aren't robots.

If you don't like the 'no profanity in any form' thing, then fine. But don't go crying just because you broke the rules and got caught.

Although its unfotunate, I believe cursing is against the EULA. However, it is rarely ever enforced, especially on pvp servers. So, that prompts me to ask if you were perhaps on an RP server? I hear it is more strictly enforced there than on other server types. Also, it is only a 3 hour ban. Go watch TV or troll these forums.

In the end, logic and reason always beat out fanboys.

You broke the rules, and you got a tiny little punishment. What are you complaining about? Can't you go play outside for three hours?

I don't think its an issue of how much downtime it's caused to the OP, wether its 3 hours or 3 weeks, the OP feels it should not have occured.

So, I head out to the bar I usually go to and decide one night I'm going to flip everyone off.  I know most of the people there, and the others have seen me around.  Some of those people will laugh with me and return the finger.  Others will just ignore me.  But, for sure, there will be that one guy who will give me a fat lip.

You were unlucky enough to flip off that guy.

Nurse your wounds, continue playing, and learn from your mistake.

    Currently Playing: Nothing...I'm developing.

In conclusion you hate WoW for your reasons... I hate WoW for mine! For its flawed reporting system, That allows any  player to use GM's as a tool again players, In turn having GM's harassing them with email threats and three hour bans for the most minor of offenses. Oh and how they allow a dwarf to give someone the bend elbow but that seems o.k with them. OK? So you don't have to agree that i think there policy stinks, i don't care. Thats why i hate WoW, They've lost me as a customer.

I believe WoW has the worst community i've ever seen on a mmorpg. By far the worst GM system too. All the Gm's use canned responses and care little to hand out threatening emails. I was once reported for saying 'screw you', and once reported for saying 'no i wont suck your dick' after a player told me to, "Suck my dick". Ironically they never fixed that one even after i tried to 'dispute it'. The other player may have gotten in trouble I'm not aware of the outcome. Its too easy to be a dumb ass, have people mad at you, and try to extract revenge on them by pretending your harassed. Its much like Kindergarten when your playing WoW and they're running to the teacher to tell them what you said. Except in Kindergarten you cant give people the Bent Elbow or grab your crotch and thrust it at them.

This is very strange to me, i got an email earlier tonight that said Everquest2 was giving me all the expansions and adventure packs and was free to play till September 15th. It had something to do with me buying Vanguard SoH. Either way,  This is a sign to me! If anyone wants to play Everquest2 with me, I'll be on-line tomorrow.  Theres a handful of other reasons i don't like WoW, but that was the final straw to me. Thanks for your support those who think it was BS. Those who thought i deserved the ban.. a great big Elbow Bend and i'm done with this rant.

I guess I got the bent elbow  but that seems only keeping with OP character.

It's Blizzard servers/forums and you play/post on them via their rules that they laid out. This is true for every legitimate big MMO company out there.

Learn to deal with it or don't play at all. Welcome to the real world.

I think you are wrong, the design system is not flawed it is completely legitimate.  Yes people can report you for whatever they want.  However the GM still does the investigation, if there was a problem it will be found out (assuming the investigation is valid), if there was not a problem, that will also be found out.  If there was nothing to his claim that you broke the rules, the logs would show that.

Therefore the problem is not the reporting system, everyone has the same opportunity.  Now there could be something said for their investigation practices or the rules themselves.  But not for the reporting system.  You are barking up the wrong tree with that one.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is bad.
