What the hell should I do now?

I played WoW, but like many other people, I'm done with it now. As an ex-WoW player, I am lost! I wish to play another MMO that is very compelling and fun, and has a lot of value.

Anyone here satisfied with a MMORPG after playing WoW? I looked at LOTR online, but I heard many negative feedback form veterans and such. Guild Wars? Have any feedback on that? Waiting for WAR is going to drive me crazy, and I doubt I'll ever get into the beta for Tabula Rasa, Gods and Heroes, WAR, AoC, or any other big time MMORPGs any time soon.

Help me please!

Don't worry what other people think, try it out for yourself; I know a lot of people who love LoTRO, and some who don't *shrug*

Other than revisiting an old game or playing LoTRO, I think you are out of luck until Tabula Rasa, Conan, and whatever else comes out.

Hmm.  Life after WoW?  It's a downward spiral.   I suggest EVE Online, sex, drugs,  alcohol, Morris Dancing or a combination of all of that.

Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

GOOD LORD! Avoid EVE at all costs.

We have a lot of LotR and WoW refugees joining EQ 2 and happy for it.

Boycott EA Games. RIP Sim City.

If your into pvp I think guild wars is a good idea, if your not don't bother with it imo.

As for me I'm playing rumble fighter while waiting for a new game, quite a nice little game^^. Its a multiplayer fighting game that ressemble to smash brothers on nintendo. Where you can custumise the way you fight, your powers and your look. If you like those kind of game, I recommend giving it a shot. (It's free, still in beta but dosn't plan to wipe your character in the end of the beta and says that they will stay free.)

Just take a break from MMORPG's. I've tried almost every game on the market and IMO none of them compare to WOW in overall gameplay and polish, it's not even close.

Do not avoid EVE at all costs, but by all means give EQ2 a shot.  Both are good games for different reasons.

Get an XBOX360 and a membership to Gamefly.  Play some single player games for awhile to ground yourself.

I have a Xbox 360 and have all the popular games on the market, I even have Xbox Live. However, none of the Xbox moments can compare to the moments I get from MMORPGs....

I understand very well what the Op pointing out today pathetic release mmorpg so far and I can proudly point out $OE is the main fault I dont get it. Is $OE trying to make crap games for PC to try get PC players convert to Ps3?.

That would be one stupid things to do but as you know $ony they do anything for profit$ $ake$.

I was in your same position for awhile not long ago..and right now im playing WoW as well.

If you have it, you could play guildwars again or like..maplestory..=3

beyond that theirs not alot to do with this generation of mmo's

and I will say that personally, lotro was an okay game, but all in all its just a quest grind to 50, after which you dont have alot of things to do.

If you are a fairly hardcore player, pretty much none of the MMO's out now are any good. I hate playing really old games myself, and nothing out there is worth it.

LOTRO: Fun for a bit, gets repetitive, nothing to do at max level, slow paced combat. I wrote a huge review on it somewhere if you search lol.

EQ2: Just too old now for me, never really could get into the game..

I am just bouncing around to various games while I wait on AOC,  good luck though

Currently waiting for - Perfect World English, Age of Conan

As a Lineage 2 fanboy, I am going to suggest you go to EQ 2 . I personally dislike this game and WoW but usually I see WoW players go from WoW to EQ 2 the most. If you do want to try Lineage 2 though, I say give it a go but it is nothing like carebear WoW.

Take a break, get out, enjoy the sun,
meet people, talk with friends, play soccer outside
take a stroll in the forest..

I support breaking and returning or just breaking and waiting.. Bio Shock is out next month if I'm not mistaken..

Did you play Oblivion: Shivering Isles? Well you should..

Played so far: 9Dragons, AO, AC, AC2, CoX, DAoC, DF, DnL, DR, DDO, Ent, EvE, EQ, EQ2, FoMK, FFO, Fury, GW, HG:L, HZ, L1, L2, M59, MU, NC1, NC2, PS, PT, R:O, RF:O, RYL, Ryzom, SL, SB, SW:G, TR, TCoS, MX:O, UO, VG, WAR, WoW...
    It all sucked.

EQ2 is great for an ex-Wow player.  It has tons of content available to hold you over until new games are released, may even keep you for a while after.   Try one of the more populated servers and you will not have any problem finding groups at lower levels.

LOTRO is really good, but its new, so it hasnt yet so many features as WOW now has after years. You might want to check EQ2, its a bit different, but one of the best and has many features.

LOTRO is a nice looking game and that is about all.

I am in the same boat right now with the op. I'm done with WoW and every other MMO I look at that's out right now really doesn't appeal to me. The game industry is in a total dead zone right now and I'm waiting for the next generation of mmo's and games. GTA4, WAR, Assassin, Pirats of the Burning Sea.... I really dont want to go back to WoW.

try EVE. I'm enjoying it alot. After playing EQ2 and CoV, EVE has a high learning curve but if you give it a month you will not regret it. Try the 14 day trial its free

Non of the above mmorpg is any good and if i had no choice but to choose one - I'd go for WoW. The reason for that is the palayability is there.

Did someone said EQ2 is great for Ex-WoW players?. Rofl

Op if your into PvP, dont waste you money on a online game...Join a Halo server funner and cheaper.

But I suggest 5-7 months of a game called Real life.  Your be suprised what kind of fun you can have!!  The quest alone are awesome, but some have MAJOR drawbacks...And the PvP is the ultimate experience you can have.

    A very biased post here.

Anywayi already know you ahve looked at EvE so as an alternative id recomend among the games that are out now EQ2. The reason being its been out for a while and its been well polished over the years. It also ahs 200,000 people playing it so the community is healphy.
