I just read the new guide for Wednesday's release, I can't wait!

With all the new methods of crafting I'll be busy for weeks if not months on end.

Yes, not to mention that the crafting adds a new way to define your character differently from others. I think it would be cool to see "Master Miner" next to my name. ;)

Yep, been looking forward to this for a long time! ;)

I think this will make the crafting in AC2 truly an awesome feature of the game.  I don't know how Horizon's worked, and some other games have had a nice ability to craft, but from what I've read AC2's will definately be impressive.

And, you don't have to be just a crafter... I think the game will easily support a person doing both crafting and hunting.

Crafting is probably one of the most anticipated additions to this game as of yet!

Now folks will not only be able to choose adventurer classes, but they will now be able to have a profession. This is something I will really help put the game over the top.....

Now if only we can get seafaring battle in an X-Pac; I figure housing and town rebuilding/reworking can be one of those things they can do little by little each month.

The game is really worth checking out now for those of you who have not yet tried it. You don't have alot to lose in doing so, since the 15-day free trial is indeed free. You can find out about that here: http://ac2.turbinegames.com/index.php?page_id=234

Since only about 200 people play on each server at any given time I guess there won't be much lag in the crafting towns but just think if the servers were full and people were crowded around the forges.

Ever been in the subway or marketplace in AC1 when it was busy? ugh!

Uh 200 at any given time? When do you play? Right now there are 500 people on FF and 500 on TD. Peaks are around 800 each, of course even that number isn't too impressive but it's not that bad in my opinion.

He might have been talking about the Euro Servers. *shrugs* Today on patch day around 9:30PM PST I saw Thristledown server at 850 people online. Didn't get much lag on my end, and patch was all in all a very good addition to the game.image

Dawnsong had 540 people online at one time on patch day, that's 140 more than regular peak. ::::02:: And the crafting system is way cool!

Will this bring a working economy to the game?

  • ScorpiusScorpius Member Posts: 15

If not an "economy", there is at least a lot of trading going on nowdays.  I think Crafting 2.0 will need to settle in a bit before we'll know if it'll steady out into a "real" economy though (crazy prices at the moment....250k for 5k of trait).

It's nice to actually have something worth spending gold on finally :)

Well i resubsribed yesterday to test out this new system, after playing about 4 hours(LOL) i thought it was a great change and will keep me the game for a while...though i only recieved 14k cxp i have gained about 5k+ just mining and crafting...this is going to be a big boast to the games economy

I think mining will be the big money earner in AC2, at least for a while.  Eventually, the game may get flooded with miners and people will need to branch out into other fields like refining.

Crafting 2.0 is probably the most fun I've had in AC2 for a while (mostly cause I enjoy surveying and think it's funny to hear people moaning about how hard it is.  If you get a system going, it's pretty easy really).

Craft 2.0 is great and I have lot of fun specialiazing in Toolmaking, Butchering and Mining !

I like to be helpfull to my ally mates but since Craft 2.0 I am just busy all the time :)
Every crafter need ressources and tools and this gives me lot of things to do instead of wandering around or trying to find a Chaos fellow.

    Great work Turbine !

What the game need now is:

1: More NPCs, to make the citis feel more alive and vibrant.

    2: PvP involving territorial control.

    3: Shops.

  • BatavierBatavier Member Posts: 42

Especially shops/vendors are needed now, and of coure more storage space.

Other than that the game has improved lots and lots and lots since it was first launched. It's even more fun now to play than it always has been! Go Turbine!

Played: AC, AC2, Anarchy Online, AoC, D&D Online, Dark+Light, EQ2, EVE Online, FF XI, Guild Wars, Lineage II, Lotro, Ragnarok, Ryzom, Star Wars Galaxies, Ultima Online, WAR, WoW, etc. Also various MUDs

Yeah, I wasn't planning on doing any mining at all.... until I saw how much gold they were paying per unit. In about 30 minutes of mining I would get 1,000 Iron and sell that for anywhere from 25,000-40,000 Gold. There's a lot of in game complaining about the high prices being coughed up for such a small amount of material, but there seem no end to the amount of crafters willing to cough up the gold for the material to craft their hearts out. I've only been playing for a few months, so this patch really added to my gold pile.image

I'm going to have to resubscribe, it looks like.  Been looking forward to Crafting 2.0 since I quit last August.  Lack of soloable crafting is what made me quit in the first place, since I wasn't much for grinding or soloing.
