Best Free MMO

Hey everyone. Was just curious on all of your opinions. My friend was looking for a free MMO cause he is too cheap to pay monthly fees. He has Guild Wards and did try City of Heroes/Villians. What would you recommend are some of the best MMO's out there (even if you have to purchase the game), but don't have monthly fees. Thanks in advance.

erm, there is a list of free mmos - just look for it.
then one can google as well.... there are tons of freebies. silkroad, 9dragons, rappelz, hero, space cowboy, sword of the new world (just released), archlord, .......
Sword Of The New World is p2p ($9.95/month I think).
Perfect World and R.Y.L. Unforgiving Wars are decent, free mmo's.

Although ENG server isn't up yet for it, it's coming really really soon.
CB should be starting near end of July/early August.
Im playing the Malay server at the moment.
Guild Wars is the best.
Else, eerm.. So many crappy ones out there, cant come in mind of anything decent tbh.
Silkroad perhaps, never try Flyff.
PW is kinda meh like all the other asian games but if a bunch of people are in a guild or wanna play it i might try it again. Is there an english patch for the malaysian servers? post some links.

I guess it all depends on what kind of game he is into...I mean there are a variety of free games that cover the spectrum. Some of the best ones I've played are Space Cowboy, Voyage Century, Anarchy, and 9 dragons.
He might just wanna check out the gpotato site as all of there games are fun for a bit (at least)

Stay away from Silk Road would have to be the biggest grind game of all time (well all mmo's have grind but heh)Not to mention the BOTS!!!
Would definately go for PW (perfect world) or Last chaos,9 dragons,2 moons (at the end of the month?)Archlord,Deco.
Doesnt PW have a lot of bots? I mean silkroad is the bot king but yeah.

Ahh the best of the worst question..... let's see. I say try all of them, otherwise you may be under the impression you are missing something. For most of them you'll be done in a day or 2 so it shouldnt take you long to get through the 100+ game list of craptacular f2p games.

If you like pvp shadowbane is good. Graphics are old but pvp is fun. Not much level grinding, can reach top lvl in a few days or less once you know what you are doing. The only thing is you really, really need to find a guild as soon as possible or you will just be fodder for pk's.
If you don't like pvp then I have no clue what free games would be good...maybe one of the asian grindy games? There's a ton of them.

as for free games, Perfect World, Voyage Century, and 9 Dragons are all good games.
