im thinking of starting to play but i dont know if i want to spend all that money on the different games so if i was going in this for pvp if i only got the regular guildwars would i be missing out on a lot is it worth buying all three

If you're heavy into PvP, i would go for Factions. Though if you are just wanting PvP and no PvE, just purchase a PvP pack via the in-game store. I say Factions solely because it is very PvP oriented, i especially enjoy Alliance Battle PvP, won't find this mode in the other games. Regular PvP and guild vs guild are found in all 3 games. I recommend purchasing a trial dvd at a local gamestore, go to Gamestop if you have one where you live, i saw many GW trial CDs last time i went for 1.99. That will let you try all 3 campaigns, so have fun.

If you have the patience. You can wait for GW2, which is long so I doubt it.
I personally think Nightfall is the best for newcomers cuz of its almost balence of pve and pvp.
I personally luved the original the best.

If GW2 is the 'eye of the north' i think thats what its called, then I thought they was saying that was just going to be a real expansion, but Guild Wars 2.
I could be wrong.
EXACTLY NOTHING...
this games not even an mmo, much less a fun mmo
the only thing it has going for it is its GvG AND THATS ALL.......
if you like PvP, you need all three chapters, but they are all very cheap now, £10 each in the UK and $20 from Fry's in the USA
Oh and Guild Wars Eye of the North is an expansion for those that have finished at least one of the chapters, its not for new players
And to the guy above? please, you don't like it, go away and leave those of us that do to enjoy it and stop potentially salting the water for those new players that want to try the game
GW is realy a great game, and many of the quests r easy 2 do, lots of kool skills and spells, 10 different profesions if u get the 3 games, nice pvp battles, gvg and FvF wars. the only thing i didnt like is that u need to party with some1 to play in the wild, if u only invite hench u r playing solo, i would like that GW could b like other MMOs, that u could see players all over the game not just only in the towns and outposts. other good thing is that max lvl is 20, that makes pvp battles easy, the player with better abilities wins.
